MiniVAP Vaporizer

it really says something when I am holding on to the very last ~1g of a particularly fragrant and tasty strain because now I feel like it's sorta wasted in any other vape.

even the EVO, which I absolutely love, cannot match the flavor of the miniVAP. I have been using my EVO a lot since the MV crapped out. It is still brilliant, I really shouldn't complain... but I think I do have a miniVAP-shaped hole in my heart right now

@THE KISS FREAK

Awesome review and all you mentioned is pretty spot on!
I used the hard cone a few times but had the same results as you, not what i wanted.
Lately i have just been using the Flexicone, a screen and either the large/small basket.
I can attach it to my WT or to the hard mouthpiece if i am lounging around!

As for the lights fiasco...
No one really knows what they mean and it seems as if everyones are slightly different.
When mine cycles on it goes through about 6 or 7 colours on the front.
The back LED for the battery is supposed to turn on and be BLUE, tho shows the battery is functioning correctly. It then will turn to GREEN or RED, depending on the state of the battery. This is from the manufacturer and my unit actually only has shown me the three colours so far.

Been a GREEN setting week for me.
Hits are amazing, flavour is outrageous and the medicating effects are more intense than my other vapes.
If this was my first vape i don't think i would look for anything else...

I was going to buy the herbalizer and minivap.

If you have the choice, from your statement would it be the minivap if you had to choose one?

For me personally i would go with the MiniVap.
If Herbie was portable and still had the precise temp control, i would go with Herbie.

So far i have had the MV for 3 weeks and despite the 5 minute warm up it is still my go to vape!

I had a few questions before I made my decision on,whether I want to buy this vape. Does it work well with oil/wax?
Is the heat up always 5min,even with it plugged in?
Can you get huge clouds on the red setting with .1 or less.
Will the bowl work well with a mix of herb and wax?
Thanks

Heating up to the green setting will take about 3mins and going up to red another 2mins on battery or plugged in.
0.1 will probably give you a 2-3 nice dry hits in my experience.

Never tried oil/wax. It comes with a liquid pad.

The heat up time is what it is as already mentioned. I always spend that time waiting grinding herb and getting my flexicone set up/filled. By the time I'm done Green is ready.....I finish on Red. I actually appreciate that next warm up to Red time interval since I'm so medicated I need to prepare myself for whats to come on that setting. :zombie:

PPN

Volute of Vapor
It don't work very well with concentrates, even with the decarb kit.....this option must to be their next improvement.

It vapes your concentrates but partially, don't look for clouds!

But the MV is a master to handle flowers!

I only wish I had access to oils and wax. Though I've heard they really mess up your tolerance as they are so high in thc? In one sorta dose type thing. Sounds messy though. And I kinda pride myself on having my MV clean without having ever really cleaned it.

On that, as an experiment:science: I've started using a whole new :whip:clean flexicone exclusively when I use the Large/arizer basket combo. Let me explain, I've always found that that, debris if you will, seems to dirty up my flexicone, as in actually through the snapped in screen and on the internal niplage .. My guess is from movement from suction / gravity. Gonna see if it stays clean. If it does instants to reason the less dust escaping direct vaping the better. So yeah, to see if it dirtys up less.

Also I seen on another thread about boiling your glass straws and stems and what not in full milk to clean them. It works! Used boiled milk to get my makeshift MV straw segments, but most especially the arizer whip mouthpieces that are incorporated into a reducer. They've been in use since I got the MV 4 or 5 months ago and thus have collected a good amount of nectar. Im kinda struggling to type this right about now.. Phew done.... It tastes like I ate lotsa weed. I made the milk into hot chocolate aka cocoa.

@lazylathe, Thank You, I'm gonna try to upload some Vids, maybe pics soon.
As for the oil pad, it did work, but the hits were light, not alot of visible vapor, Not like my Persei, I can get nice clouds from it, but it's strictly an Oil Vape. When I used the liquid pad, I did as manufacturer said, LP on top of a basket either large or small and it did not make a mess of any kind, just evaporated off the pad. My Mini insides are still nice and clean and that's why I haven't loaded right into the chamber as of yet, I'm kinda anal retentive like that! LOL:rofl:

Hi,
I'm soon getting a mini, and I have a question:
Are the baskets everybody speak of come with the initial kit? Or is it something you buy separate.
Thanks.

@mestizo , Yes, you'll get a small and large size basket with your MV, but they are not indestructible so getting a couple replacements might be worth it.

I just made a new shorter boro straw, this time 3 1/2 inches long.
Used a thicker bit of silicone that slipped over the nipple on the MV cap and the boro straw was a snug fit in the silicone.
Tried a small basket of White Rhino on BLUE.
WOWZER!!!
Never thought i would get such decent clouds off blue!!
And tasty as well!!!
It gets pretty warm but by that stage i was ready to tap out anyways... Damn MV!! LOL!

@mestizo Keep in mind that the Arizer Extreme Q dome screens are a perfect fit and sized between the small and large MV baskets......and cost a lot less.

And welcome aboard. You....will....not....be disappointed.

Under the guise of scientific testing i ventured into MV land.
Those who own one know what i mean!
Testing this thing is quite a daunting task as you are hammered after the first bowl!

So tightening my belt i loaded a layer of hash then bud into the small basket.
MV set to red and flexicone loaded into my WT.
First hit was way too much for me to handle!
Dial down to green and try again, much better!!
Holy flavour!

Next test, just load a layer of hash into the small basket.
Same flexicone and WT.
MV set to green this time...
Awesome clouds and flavour! WOW has this hash ever tasted so good!
It's like an exploding floral/fruit explosion!

Next test, Budder in cotton wool also loaded into small basket.
Same flexicone and WT.
MV set to red and decent bluish/white clouds.
The flavour was amazing!!
About 8 hits of a tiny bit.

Next test, Holy Grail shatter in cotton same setup.
Awesome all around!!!

Would i do it this way instead of dabbing?
Most likely not, there is something about getting such a huge hit in a short period of time.

But it works for sure!!
I am medicated to my toes tonight!

So in practise it can do concentrates but it is not the ideal way.

It may just push me over the edge and into getting my dreamed of spare kit in limited edition green.

@Mrmrmrmr What set up you planning on having ready in advance? This is turning into quite the party hmmm?

Been Looking at the Firefly thread for awhile, and used to be one of my new vape choices before I found out about the miniVAP.
The think I liked about the Firefly is how everybody raves about its flavor, but very disappointed about its failure rate, which happens to be quite high, and its learning curve, so my other two choices where the Mighty, and the miniVAP, and the more I look at the Mighty the more attractive the mini looked, but I have to admit, after seeing a mini failure it made me worry a little bit. TBH I haven't read all the pages and I would like to know what is the failure rate, I know the warranty is excellent so shouldn't worry so much, but how many members have had failures on their units, and how is the customer service to return or exchange them.

Failure rate is hard to judge:huh:.. Other than taking a show of hands which in itself is inaccurate since for one this is not necessarily the hub of minivap owners, indeed most of whom I assume remain anonymous:ninja:.. Who's to say the ratio if they all were included. I for one have had two funky units:doh:.. on my third and it's a dream, this one is going about four months now. My first two were apparently from a time when the company had just set up shop in a new location after having expanded operations Maybe just luck of the draw, who knows. My warranty has been honoured quickly both times. Once with a authorised retailer (UK) and once (due to a stock/colour issue) directly from hermes medical in Spain. \:haw:/ Ole!

How do I/Can I get.. More varied smilies? :hmm:

Edit: That straw/stem hot cocoa most assuredly works. It knocked me out though. Superb couchlockedness.

@kimura.. How goes the process?

Well that settles it. I'm buying a minivap this Friday. Read through a good bit of the thread and I'm loving it!!
The Herbie is my main vape and all I need is a powerful portable to add to my arsenal.
See you guys in the clouds soon :haw:

Just be careful...
The MV has taken over the Herbie as far as flavour...
The Herbie can still produce the massive clouds of super thick vapour that the MV struggles to keep up with, unless you are on RED which is top temp for the MV, but the Herbie also needs to be at Max to produce those dense clouds.

I find that Herbie is my special treat now and then, reserved mainly for concentrates and bags now or when i need that quick hit of medicine before embarking on a shopping adventure with the family!

I would say with these two vapes in your arsenal you should be good to go!
I have not touched any of my other vapes in almost a month now... May be time to thin the heard...

I think it is unfair to judge the MV by it's representation only on this forum.
Google search and you will find many more being used out there on other forums that have been performing flawlessly for many years.

It is a great, powerful and tasty vape that medicates so effectively it can be scary at times.

I've had my Mini for just two months and my Firefly for about three. Both still going strong....knock on wood. My premise has always been if you got through the first month you should have a 'good one'. My Ascent died at nearly a year, but that was an inherent design issue that involved fatigue of a solder for the power wire that many experienced. Getting it replaced was pretty much painless. It won't be different if it happens with the Mini because I know Vapornation stands behind it as does Hermes. Other than an inconvenience, I know I'm covered.

I read through this thread beginning to end myself before purchase. The failure rate if I recollect was not significant. The newest versions of the Mini should have the most updated firmware.

Buy from Hermes or a reputable retailer and you should feel at ease.

Guess who gets the honor for post #2000 in this thread????
