So if I were to buy a persei and a sr71, which batteries would I need? If I need the aw imr batteries they are sold out on the site, are the 18650 batteries that were used with the cera good enough? (I think I asked this before)

edit: and will the titanium coil fit in the 71, or do I need the other coils that are listed for it? thanks.

I just got a set of NEW AW IMR 18350's(800mah)! I hope these batteries work just as well as the old. AW IMR is definitely the way to go!

I just gave an hercules a 1st go. WOW! Amazing taste! I aim at 1st for lots of cool downs vs bigger clouds to avoid reclaiming the bottom chamber. I like pulsing; it gives me a feeling of control.

Now I gunked all the inside of my top chamber while loading it. I dont know whats my best option there; force the metal washer in anw? Do an iso qtips wash upside down? Try to melt it down with a torch blowing for afar? Or? Tx for words of advice

Went for 2 coils your first try, nice. I've had it for almost 3 months and still haven't, putting .5 in mine will kick my ass for days.

Looks like planetvape has the hammer tops with 1200f rod, might have to get it on this!

The hammer rod has a2 minute timer where it stays on and you do not need to keep holding the button.

From what I have seen, you let the rod heat up for 45 seconds and it is ready to be used as a dab wand, or remove the heat rod and use it with a hercules or another cart where you need to hold the button for longer.

The hammer rod is also used in the Bender, which would be the better use for it IMO

I just used my hammer cart to do dabs for the first time ever, and it was pretty awesome and flavorful!! I ran it through the core set at 6.8 volts with the top to my "8" instead of my hammer top bcuz that keeps blinking on me! The 8 doesn't have all the blinking problems that the Persei has when used at lower voltages and what not. And if my 8 will fully power the Hammer Cart with no issues at all, then I know that the new button assembly definitely fixed it!! I haven't had any more issues with my 8 since I put it in!! Hell yeah!!! Now I fucking LOVE this thing!!! It's my daily driver for both my E-cig and oil needs!! I'm definitely happy with my purchase now!!

@Vapoholic420 yea - i have the hammer and just LOVE it -- (and I'm still waiting on the actual rod -- cannot wait !!! ) but I use the hammer every session --- my hercules is always attached n sometimes even the kiss globe -- I'm not big on pulsing -- i like running it ! :)

hmm --- a lil question ----

of course I'm still loving my
sr74 almost a year later !! just incredible --- especially when using top quality wax so the taste can be appreciated ..

I really don't like the reclaim type or burnt taste lower quality waxes offer and higher temps ruin if the oil is soaking too long in the heat b4 vaped up :)

I recently got back into fooling round with the
3.7v rod ---
I have a few electric newbie ?'s I'm not sure about volts n all .. kinda learning

I even stopped using the
7.4 kiss carts -- n stay with 3.7v or other carts at 3.7 - 4.7 (much better tastes IMO ) --- the 7.4v imo seems burnt or just i guess more cloud but sacrifice taste ?

now with the hercules sr74x I always use the
7.4v rod since i usually use the core .... I'm happy with --- I don't like putting too much product in since after a while it gets that "standard" taste -- over the amazing taste of every rip when I just put a lil drop in -- (since i feel after its primed it needs so lil to go go go :) )

I cleaned the other day and put the
3.7 rod into the sr74x --- figuring it would be great on tha go w/3.7v and maybe the heat will be lower and help the taste --

I didn't have much luck at
3.7v :( but when I "CORED" it up to 3.4v - 4.2v ... boom huge clouds and gr8 taste ... (better than 7.4v rod ??? I'm not sure -- id like to do a side by side soon ? ) (anyone have any experiences in this area ?

I guess my question is ? ----
anyone know how it works -- is the
3.7 rod getting hotter since I'm putting more voltage into it ? or the 7.4v rod -- does it heat up faster and hotter simply because its higher power ?
or are the rods made so different that they each work at such diff temps ?
do any of us know the temps at the 7.4v level optimally .. or the 3.7v respectively ? are the similar ? is it a how long does it take to heat thang ? or heat up hotter ? or ......

just became very interesting ?

I would love to know anyones feedback or experience ..
Thank u solo much :) happy vapin
respect n peace my friends !

Might be a stupid question but does the core charge itself? I guess what im trying to ask is does the core 18350 insert charge when its plugged into the core and then when unplugged it will work like a battery? or is it strictly "desktop" as in you must have it plugged into the core and the core plugged into a wall for it to work.

EDIT: ALSOOO.. With the sr74. im buying it when it comes back in stock but i want to still be able to use my SS tube (the smallest one) so i was wondering.. if i also purchase the 3.7v black rod will i be able to use the smallest tube w. just one of my aw imr's ? also i'd assume that by using the 3.7v black rod w. the sr74 you'd be using less concentrate than w. the stock 7.4v white rod?

Hmm I think it's just a regular core insert but the size of a 18350 so it is shorter. It doesn't charge. I have a regular core so that's what I think lol

haha thanks that pretty much answers my question.. i was confused from the pictures & trying to see if the core also maintained a charge but iguess not.

I decided to try to rebuild my 7.4v KISS that died
@DieHard, I notice from your rebuild pics that the stock kiss came with those gold crimp connectors. These are sitting underneath the ceramic cup, correct? But you did not replace them on your rebuilt unit?

I just noticed one of these gold connectors inside the ceramic bowl of another manufactures cart right up against the wick. And she is trying to tell me its normal to have them there because "they hold the coil in place". Must be a crock of shit.

The cart that I was rebuilding started life as a TiGr2 7.4v cart. The Ti carts use a small length of non-resistance wire crimped to the Ti wire. The NiChrome carts (standard KISS) do not have the crimp connectors or the non-resistance wire.

Actually the nichrome wire still had the resistance wire, it's just laser welded.

So when I used to be a "smoker" I would always use the bottom of my lighter to pry off the tops of beer bottles. Unfortunately since I started vaping I don't carry a lighter with me as there is no need... so there has been an extreme lack of that tool for the pinch need to open a bottle. I just discovered the bottom of the battery adjust tool works just as good, if not better due to the grooving in it. SCORE.

Its just 1 coil. Maybe its because I use a sr71? Would it be easier to prevent concentrates leak in the bottom chamber using 2 coils? I used brute force to put my washer back in and it was not a problem to open it after; no extra heat needed.

I totally failed to keep my concentrate in the upper chamber. Thats the 1st thing I want to master with my sr71. Once I opened it to take a look at the bottom chamber, it couldnt be assembled back and work -----> Im reclaiming my bottom chamber for the 1st time!

I was doing cool downs of equal time of button riding time, up tp 5sec. Then long extra cool down to finish fill my lungs. 6.8volt on the core. Horizontal. I think I should go for 2sec button/3sec cool down cycles next time.

7.4v kiss carts are my go to. Im blowing huge clouds with it, but I expect my sr71 to do even better :)

@invisiblefriend. Yea, I like the 3.7 volt heating rod better for flavor too. I used that exclusively for the fist year of having my SR71. It takes longer to heat up, but it doesn't burn the taste out of your oil immediately. I do like the 7.4 volt rod that comes with the SR74 tho. It doesn't get as hot as the 7.4 volt white rod that comes with the SR71. The rods all have different resistances and the lower the resistance the faster it gets hot, but if the resistance is too low, u can't use it on 7.4 volts or it could burn out the rod. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure the 3.7 volt black rods resistance is .8, give or take, that's why it gets hotter faster with the higher voltage, but if u go too high, u could fry the rod. I believe the resistance for the white 7.4 rod for the SR71 is around 1.5 ohms, give or take, and that's why it can handle the higher 7.4 voltage without burning out. U can either go with the white rod and if u have the core u can scale it down for better flavor or u can use the 3.7 volt rod and scale it up a little bit until it's right where it heats faster than 3.7 volts, but still tastes good and don't burn the shit out of your oil. I hope this helps ya understand it a little better.

@Vapoholic420 thx solo much 4 info

I spent my weekend sessions experimenting ---

I AM SOOOOOO EXCITED AFTER KEEPING THE 3.7V ROD ASIDE 4 SOO LONG -- ( I finally figured it out thx 2 friends and trial n error / never given up -- if others were doin it -- i was gunna -- ) - i went back 500 pages and found some happy 3.7v w/ batteries n just couldn't believe IMO -- I had 2 figure this out

@Vapoholic420 -- thx 4 the ohm info -- much much help understanding -- respect

anyone know the actual temps the rods get ? and at what stages ? -- I saw a test with one of those directional thermometers months back but cannot find the experiment ? it went into temps of coils and the rods ---- ????

back to SR74X 3.7V
after some tinkering and testing -- I got it

3.7v sr-74x on the persei SS or the core (when its not blinking like ira ira) and I don't have to put the core or iris to 4.1 or 4.5 !!!!!! 3.7v -- patience ( the hammer helps )

& now imo -- this must be the ONLY SETUP !!! -- all my wax tastes sooo good (tasting the good every time like the hercules searches and finds the taste :) ) -- no burning -- no reclaim -I find with too much inside or too hot too long and yuk -- i don't like dat taste !
- not really any going into reclaim area either ...
this is my super solution ---

now I can use batteries again -- (never had 7.4v & herc74 luck w/batteries -- pulls too much power -- the core is my goto! )

Now confidence with shorty and AW BATTERIES -- LUV THE SIZE AGAIN
super luv the taste -- n i still feel this gurl conserves wax like no tmro...

thx my friends

thx 3.7v vaping !

So the new button assembly did it for you?
I'm struggling to get the globe to fire on the 8.. But when I ran the sr74 for the first time last night. I had 2 great successful sessions! The 8 fired every single time with light presses. As long as you feel the button contact with the pins you shouldn't need any force to fire it. Like my previous experience with the original button assembly.

I'm running the original button with the upgraded contact pins. I like the original button better.

Minus the globe. So far so good! I was ecstatic when I was seshing the herc and the 8 like if it was no difference from my persei!

Just wondering if someone has an answer for this question i posted the other day ? seems as though it got missed.

" EDIT: ALSOOO.. "

FINAL EDIT: Anyone know how long that 10% coupon is gonna be available on w9 ? hopefully until the 15th when the sr74 is back so i can just order everything all together.. & does the sr74 smell when not in use or is something its made of stopping that? i remember when i used to use the 2.4/5.0 original carts i had to keep them in a doobtube or else they managed to start smelling up my room when it was just sitting.
