Does the same sort of issue happen when you're in Celsius mode too?

Yes, same thing, with a minimum boost of 15C. If you have a compatible phone with the app then it's a nonissue because you can change the standard temp to any number up to 410F in real time. It's only an issue pre-programming the temps for use without the app.

To clarify, are you saying that if you opt to change the two standard temps, they must be 32+ F (or 15 C) apart?
You can't have the newly programmed temps/ the one's that would will be standard every time you use it, be 380 / 405 for example?
Thanks

I hope they change that with a software update. I was hoping to have 383F and 396 as my temps. Now I guess it will have to be 378 and 410. How are sessions on the highest temperature setting, if you have even tried that yet?

That's not great ... I probably would have programmed in 185-190 as my main and 195-200 as my boost based on experience (very unlikely them being 185 and 200 but more likely being something like 190 and 197) ... but I guess we'll see what works best for me! Ultimately I generally vape at a single temp ... w/ a Solo that's @ 4 ... with a Volcano way back when it was at 197 ... with my EVO it's around noon (varying a little based on heat soak) ... etc, etc ... so this is probably not a major issue for me, but it is unfortunate. Maybe fixable with a future firmware or app update?

I just looked up my miniVAP 3 heat ranges, 200 C, 215 C, 225 C. The trio works great.
With a Crafty, my preferred first try would be 215 and 225 which would not be an option :(

Why would mother S & B give a rip if you wanted to set them 5 C apart??
That's the point of allowing you to customize it.
C'mon S & B, set a max temp allowable and then allow anything

Guys I have 170c and +10c as boost. Am I magic or what's going on? I'm not sure I understand this issue but I'm trying to.

Perhaps that was what was fixed in the update a few days ago? For the people having this issue, have you updated the app?

So I found a flaw that's bothering me. When adjusting temp via the app, the booster setting has to be a minimum of 32F greater than the standard temp setting. I was hoping to set my two temps at 380 and 400. But instead when I set my standard to 380, it makes the booster temp max out. I wonder if that'll cause any problems since the booster is technically greater than 410 at that point.

Since the factory settings are a 27f difference it seems odd you are forced to a 32f gap.

My bad, reporting. I wasn't paying adequate attention to my intake when I made the "7-8 draws" comment
...
So yesterday, over the course of an afternoon, and after a good wall-charging, I got 28 long steady draws before the battery went Conky; using only the default 180C.

Turns out my initial "7-8 draws" comment was "half wrong". Here's the skinny...

I got around 28 long steady draws over an afternoon if I took five at a time, between cool-downs.
If you let it cool-down between each draw you're not going to get 28, probobly more like half that,
or less. That's how I was using it when I made the "7-8" comment. (i knew I wasn't crazy)

To help maximize your number of hits per charge (HPC) minimize the number cool-down/re-heats.
It's less (battery) work maintaining the target temp than having to heat up a cold unit to it.
And help explains the why folks were geting vastly different results in HPC.

happy vaping

That's all well and fine for you elmomuzz :tup:good for you. I'm happy you think less is more, but only getting 28 hits out of one charge is still piss poor performance in my book.

Thats fewer hits than you get in one session in any other rechargeable I've ever owned and most give me 4-5 sessions. Pretty sure one charge off the DV or NO2 is going to allow you to vape a whole lot more herb(4-5 times as much) per charge at that rate which would make them a bit more useful (to me at least) when on the road.

If You can actually believe less than 30 hits on a charge is an improvement we live on different planets.

Want more battery? Mighty might be your best option. I've seen several review sites say an hour to hour and a half of usage with the Crafty. How accurate that is, remains to be seen.

It's too early, with too few results, to say that the battery is terrible. It seems the average so far is in the 4-5 bowl range that you were happy with on other portables.

So if the time is less, but the overall amount of bud vaped the same...isn't that a good thing?

If you're that worried about the battery, wait til more users can post their findings to get a more accurate idea. Usage will vary depending on habits.

I just bought myself a Crafty directly from Storz and Bickel yesterday.

Do you know on average how long it takes Storz and Bickel from the time you order till the time you received the device?

On their website, they say if you order before 10AM PST, the order will ship the same day. There is free next day shipping with all vaporizer orders as well. If you placed the order today (Sunday), it will ship out on Monday, and you'll have it in your hands on Tuesday!

I placed my order on Friday morning and it shipped out that day. It'll be out for delivery tomorrow since they don't do Saturday delivery.

I'm the type of guy that likes to take a couple hits at a time. One of the main reasons why the Herbalizer and FF work so well for me. I want one of these new S&B vapes so bad, but the heat up time between cool downs and possible lack of battery life may dissuade me.

I guess there's a good reason why the FF battery life is as poor as it is - rapid heating is a big drain on a battery.

@Roth Thanks for the info, that is really fast! All the way from Germany right? Dang I am excited for Tuesday....

EDIT:

Now that I think about it, if it is coming from Germany, it doesn't seem possible that they can ship it Monday and I would have it Tuesday? Does this seem realistic?

Orders from the America's are shipped from S&B's American headquarters in Oakland, CA.

I'm pretty sure they have a center in the US that they ship from and also with UPS/Fedex Next Day Air, it's possible.

UPS standard takes usually 5 work days in EU, if you didn't select the express delivery ( 50€ extra).

I'm hoping it's an error with the app. Mine shows "+32F" for the booster setting when I go into the app and it won't let me change it any lower. I plan to reinstall the app today when I get access to my friend's phone and I'll see if that fixes the problem. It doesn't make any sense, so this could just be a glitch on my previous installation. Fingers crossed. I'll post back here with the results.

In other news, man does this thing hit great at 386 :)

Great Scott!
Comparing to the mflb is laughable in my eyes. I'd need a whole afternoon and endless batteries to get as medicated as I would in 2 min from the crafty. Number of hits means nothing to me. Each hit feels like a desktop hit to me, not a tiny whisp of vapor, yet both count as one hit.

I think the cleaning claims are unfounded so far. I've had 6ish bowls in it so far. Dumping it out while its warm and blowing on the screen and the thing looks brand new.

Respectfully, 6 bowls is not very much and certainly not enough to make any determinations regarding cleaning claims being unfounded.

Nice to be able to change it, isn't it?

It's great! Love the app concept.

And how is the bowl screen removable?

No clue. Apparently it is but I am unsure how. Am very curious though if anybody has figured it out.

Same problem here. It's gotta be a bug.

Don't think it was fixed. I'm 100 percent up-to-date.

Not getting anywhere close to that. My experience has been closer to 30 minutes plus some change.

That sounds about right.

I have a question: It says in the manual that to avoid the auto-shutoff you either have to hit the button OR do another "application" which is S&B lingo for "hit". Some of the reviews say you have to push the button every 59 seconds to avoid shut-off but I get the impression its 1 minute from your last inhalation OR button press. I can't imagine Crafty cutting you off in mid-toke, that makes no sense to me. Can someone please clear this up?
