Arizer Solo

Well, your HIGHness, you certainly beat Massdrop, on the quick!

That ain't the half of it. While hopefully there will be no problems, if there are you won't believe the support from Randy at PIU.

My first Solo wouldn't turn on, I emailed Randy he had a replacement in the mail that day. It got to me before I managed to box up the original, let alone get it to the PO. He sent just the unit IIRC, I used his packaging to return the dud.

I honestly don't think anyone can offer better support than that. Randy has earned a lot of my money, I'm sure with more to come.

Also, let's not forget the 'open box' units (3 times now?). Time before last I got what I think is a never used with herb Silver unit with everything but the box for the stems for $50.

No need to look, I know Randy has a white hat.

Glad your happy with him.PIU pretty much blew me off when I asked about price matching on my second solo (said they would "get back to me within 24 hours")but never did.....

Anyhow,we have our solos and are happy with them...that's all that really counts

Say, have any of you guys tried using one of Ed's WonGs or something similarly short as a dry stem?

I didn't realize about lifting the stem up a bit when your taking a draw...I read it here some where, what a diffirence!I was just on the planetvape site...I was thinking of one of there turbo stems to replace the solo one!Just wanted to say!

Thanks
additioanly when inhaling do not seal your lips completely around the stem. Leave a little gap so air can be drawn in at the same time.

I have a short blackwood stem I received last week and it has been awesome for hikes and camping. I don't have to worry about the stem breaking or rolling around so that's a huge plus. Only issue is that it doesn't hit out of my bong as nicely as the straight glass stem. If it did I'd never use the glass stems again.

I've been using the new turbo stem and it's all it needed! The thinner o rings to fit perfect and I'm anal with how the old rings fit when half of it was pinched ,didn't like it!I'll try that letting some air in through my mouth because to come to think I do clamp down somethimes!

I really like the turbo PVHES bent mouthpieces. Been waiting to get a few. The straight PVHES reg are up. The PVHES are thicker glass than the regular stock stems. The stock stems break easier IMO. It's been a bad week for glass breakage in the CK household.:\

I have an @Ed's TnT 3 inch WonG that I had especially made. I use it as a dry mouthpiece and it works wonderful. There is a picture of it a few pages back. I have it hooked to my bubbler in the pic. It has a turquoise inlay and it's beautiful.

Yes, this has been discussed several times. It seems to be a later development (along about the time the thicker caps showed up?). It's very easy to cross thread some of them. My 'most often used' Solo does this most every time I try. Carefully unthread the cap keeping it square. Go past where the leade you used started, feeling for a 'click' 180 degrees out, gently screw it back on there (the correct threads), again keeping it square.

Why is it so "obvious" that Arizer won't do anything for you? Can you point to any time they haven't provided prompt, excellent support?

any idea when puffitup will restock "open box arizer solo's?

I'd think it depends on how long it takes them to get, test, and package up a lot of them? They have done so 3 times this year I think. If I was guessing I'd say probably right after New Year? The can go very fast (go figure), hopefully some caring Member who first finds out will clue us all in (after ordering theirs, of course).

i find it strange with all the gong and wong adaptors out there that Arizer hasn't put out a line of their own? i mean it cant be that hard to make them and send them off with the solo as a standard fitting. I will eventually get a gong bit for it but i think i will play with what i have first.
Just today I picked up a Ryot piper case on the cheap today, $30inc postage, seems no one wanted the olive green but i love olive green so i scored! I think it might be an older model, the "piper" logo is stitched into the front flap not on a tag and it dose not have that slip stop backing not that it worries me, i dont plan to prep on it but it will do nicely to hold and protect my Solo, ed's stem and some herb for when im out and about

ive been meaning to ask, dose anyone know of a silicone skin for the solo? the kind of soft covers you get for phones, ipods or game console controllers?

I have a question for users of the fancy GONG that never seems to be in stock over at planetvape:

I have a water pipe with a 14mm glass downstem. I put the stock factory glass wand on my Solo, inverted it, and lo and behold, the wand fits perfectly into the downstem, and I am taking delightful water-vape hits, with no additional equipment.

So my question is, what benefit (if any) would I gain by checking the planetvape site every day and grabbing one of these $25 GONG adapters? Is it a more solid connection, better airflow, bigger hits---what is the advantage?

I would imagine all of the above, but you may be lucky enough to have everything fitting just right. You might be able to enhance the airflow bit more with some rubber bands.

If you're comfortable with it, and it works good for you, why not rock it?
