I don't mean to be bashing mate, I will of course wait and see what S & B do :)
You have made your opinion crystal clear.... several times. If you don't like the vape, don't buy it. But don't express your opinions over and over as it is bordering on product bashing (of a product you don't even have no less).
I shall wait and see what happens!
That's a better strategy.

Ah well even if I wanted a plastic vape (I like the app),
both my android devices are bluetooth 3.0 and I'm not going to be upgrading anytime soon.

Bluetooth 4.0 split the Bluetooth specification into three categories: classic, high-speed, and low-energy. Classic and high speed call back to Bluetooth versions v2.1+EDR and v3.0+HS respectively. The real standout of Bluetooth v4.0 is Bluetooth low energy (BLE). BLE is a massive overhaul of the Bluetooth specifications, aimed at very low power applications. It sacrifices range (50m instead of 100m) and data throughput (0.27 Mbps instead of 0.7-2.1 Mbps) for a significant savings in power consumption. BLE is aimed at peripheral devices which operate on batteries, and don’t require high data rates, or constant data transmission. Smartwatches... are a good example of this application.

Great Scott!
BLE is AMAZING if you like things like smart watches, BT streaming music, BT vapes... etc. Really makes me stop thinking of BT as a battery drainer. I leave it on 24/7 for virtually no drain.

Worth getting for just a vape...nah, not if you are happy with your phone and don't use BT devices.

A company has the right to charge whatever they like. I don't think S&B is forcing anyone to buy their product:shrug:

The market will decide if they made a good decision with their prices. Based on their success with the Volcano, they should be ok.

They can definitely charge what they want. Free market 101.

The thing is, they're limiting their customer base. Instead of getting so much profit from each sale, they could lower prices, gain less profit per sale yet increase overall sales figures consequently increasing overall profit.

How many people actually own a $500-$600 Volcano? Probably a very, VERY small fraction of vapers. It seems to me they're making money off of the brand more than the product.

I don't know anything about the design and manufacturing costs but $600 for a Volcano seems excessive.
Now we have two more products from this company selling at prices that most of us wouldn't bother spending when there are plenty of other options available on the market today.

Again, I do not doubt that this is a high quality product, but perhaps they should re-evaluate pricing.

Just one mans opinion, no hard feeling towards anyone.

Trust me you didn't invent the idea of sell a lot more at lower prices. They know what they are doing to stay in business this long, and still be hailed by so many as the "best". A lot of really good companies go under, just look at thermovape... now think about how long they were in business selling just the volcano at the time? They have to be doing something right!

All markets are limiting and "exclusive" in one way or another. Why should the vape market be any different? As I stated earlier, this industry is nascent and fast developing. At some point when things start to level out across the playing field, prices will settle down. Perspective is key to understanding our place in time.

Well the Volcano was one of the first cannabis vaporizers to hit the market, as far as I know. It's used in almost all the vape lounges in my city and is recognized as a medical device by the government. Plus they have great marketing.

The brand name alone allows them to sell these new devices and the Plenty at high prices. You wont ever see a $10 Versace sweater even though you could buy the exact same thing without the Versace logo for $10.

Business is business, I guess. If that's their business model and target consumer, that's their prerogative but this was just my opinion and suggestion as an average consumer in this market. I'm sure I'm not the only one wondering where the price justification comes from. I'm also sure I'm not the only one who will dismiss this product solely based on its high price.

I'd still love to own one, however :D

This thread is getting silly. Now some are assuming that S&B are marketing noobs? That they don't know what they're doing with their pricing, as if they've never sold a vaporizer? Lots of people can't afford a S&B product, and lots more don't want to spend the money. I bet they know that.

The price justification may be attributed to their reputation, high quality R&D and product, and state of the art tech enclosed in a very small form factor while positioned in a very small and specialized niche market. Biz 101.

Its pretty simple really. If anyone thinks it is too expensive or not for them they simply do not need to buy one. There are plenty of other options available.

Although I'm still waiting for my unit I am excited by the potential power in such a compact form. I've already downloaded the app (Android) and like others have pointed out don't expect to use it that often. The first thing I will do is change the booster temp to 410 degrees and pack a nice fat oven. I really want to see how fast this unit can extract. I'm also looking forward to see how it handles concentrates.

Apologies man, I am having huge problems with a mood disorder right now and am aware that I may come across as much angrier than I actually am. :peace:

I'm not sure if I'll even test this with oil. I don't know that I'd ever use it for that when I have a persei/hercules and vapexnail at home. I'm curious, but I don't think I'd try it myself.
I'd definitely try it with cotton soaked and dried Green Dragon tincture! Works great in my Solo!

I have ideal concentrate vapes, I'm not sure why I'd want to get it to kinda sorta work with an herb vape lol. It'd be nice to have 1 device to do both, but I'd rather carry my minicron lite than the oil pad etc.

Just like many other companies (Mercedes, BMW...) I'm not sure their target is the average consumer. Some things in life just cost more. Don't really know what else to say

With just about any product there will always be the more expensive choice. It's left up to the consumer to decide if it is worth the extra price.

In terms of price I still think the Crafty is competitive, yet on the high side. For example, I paid only $60 -$70 more for the Crafty than an INH05. Pharmacor have yet to release a problem free vape imo and I doubt the company has a lot of funds (as demonstrated by the Kickstarter campaign or whatever you call it). Also, how much would it cost to get a fully set-up Persei? A shit load as far as I know. The Firefly and Elevate are both over $300 as well and neither company has any history of releasing reliable products.

You bring up very good points. This is a company with a good reputation that is known to stand behind their products. That alone is worth quite a bit to me just for peace of mind.

Hey now. Both of these vaporizers can be had for under $300.

If you want extras, sure, you will bump up over $300, or if you don't use the VERY common 20 % discount code at VaporNation for the ESV.

But I've had my FF for almost 10 months and it's solid as my nuts. Both of these companies have outstanding customer service, and stand behind their products.

And both of these vapes offer experiences that the Crafty and Mighty don't seem to be able to, but time will tell, I suppose...

Maybe they can be had for that price but vapornation is currently advertising the Elevape for $324 which is on sale from $364 and the firefly is listed for $269 on Vapeworld. Add shipping and for many of us they are over $300 easily. It seems to me that people are much more willing to champion vapes made by small start-ups as opposed to larger companies like Storz and Bickel. Hell, my favourite vape is made by Epicvape and that is a small company.

Edit: I should add I am not critical of either of those products, simply referencing the price point.
