I was looking for a different way to carry the vapman. The egg is sporty but not exactly stealthy. The carrying pouch offered by MT, the Lotus people, offers a slimmer profile carry. It will tolerate the temps a vapman carries, and it comes in 2 fashionable colors.

I've been thinking the same thing. Except I was looking for something that can hold the Whole egg.
So far the best I could come up with is maybe a camera lens case. I found a couple on E-bay.

i use the maxpedition fr-1 bag...but i am carrying about 3 vapes, meds, storage jar and some vape tools as well. I dont care about stealth.

I have been using my mica Vapman for 1 month now and I am very pleased for my selection.
I am using also the original concentrate screen with hash (sticky charas). I have concerns if I combust sometimes and until which temperature spot do i have to vape.. I will send photos with the vaped hash if you could help me. I get hits and clouds better than herb with 3sec-pause-3sec torching like 3-4 times and then if keep torching like 4sec- pause- 4sec or 2sec-2sec-3sec i will get 1 or 2 very big hits with clouds lung busters that have a little taste of burning. Sometimes my vaped hash is like trimmings that lost their stickness and other times like black powder(looks like carbon but it is not smelling).
I have the mica version and my middle section wood starts to burn from the side i torch mostly.. Is it from the higher temperatures hash needed or is it common?
I found also herb and I tried. I have some concerns about inhaling herbs, ash and carbon through the filter. Sometimes after a session I found myself coughing and spiting some black ash or trimms of vaped herb...

One last note: After vaping herb with vapman the result is wonderful. In the past i was smoking my herb mix with tobbaco and sometimes after smoking I was very stressed with bad thoughts and tachycardia and wanted to sit on chair or lie down for a little.
Now after vaping I have mostly good pure stoned brain somehow different with better body energy and no need to lie down. Is that happening to you also? It is result of lower temperatures than smoking or it is just my psychoeffect?

- Also the screen is starting to slightly deform after some weeks of use. The problem is from the little wires in the edges. Is there any circumstance to inhale wires from the screen if the much use and heat make them broke ?
- Do you know how it is supposed vaped hash to look like, from other vaporizers that you have?
- As for the first hits which are very flavour, do i need to inhale them or is only for tasting and its better to inhale when i see little vapor on the bottom of the mouthpiece?

The Vaping effect is definitely different to smoking. I find it less tiring so I don't think it's a 'phychoeffect'.
Hash should look darker and drier when it's vaped. The higher temps will leave you with the coal like substance you mention. If you combust properly then (assuming your hash isn't adulterated) it whould leave white ash.
A good way to check quality is to roll a little sausage, set it on fire, blow it out, it should smoulder like incense with white smoke and white ash. If it's black smoke or black ash then your hash probably has Henna, wax or ghee added. You can also try dissolving some in hot water, the darker the water the worse the hash.
I gotta run though, others will prob chip in with some more ideas

Just took the vapman out of the postman's hand and opened it up. Really looking forward to get lernin' with this gem but wait.. is that a crack? a google image search didn't reveal many photos to compare, but i noted a similar line going from rim to the middle. maybe that's just the mica?
Is this the normal look of the mica version? Or should I send this back without even trying?

Yes, it's normal. One correction, however, there is only one piece of mica. It starts out life as 'most of a doughnut' and gets bent into 'part of a cone' with the ends of the curved strip overlapping. These ends are inserted in a groove in the wood (which holds the shape) and the mica is then retained from 'popping out' by the screws.
It is then 'finish machined' in place.
This process is well shown in their 'how me make the Vapman' video.
Vapman is made to be enjoyed, go for it. Let the other guys worry.........

Went through a couple of loads with the Vapman and got some deliciously tasting and visually pleasing clouds. Will definitely need some experience to get consistently great hits as I am not sure on the heating intervals in between hits.
Example: Heating up, take a hit, heating up, take a hit, then getting distracted for 10 seconds. How much do i heat up now? Only experience will tell this and I guess that's what has been described as a ritual on the past 44 pages, which is why i got the Vapman in the first place !
Also managed to combust on the 2nd bowl. No big deal, but it sure reminded me of how sour and evil this thing called smoke tastes and feels.

I just got a quarter of some charas for the first time and have been experimenting. I put a little pipe screen in to keep the hash up away from the bowl. I find that there's a couple stages when vaping the hash. First, it softens and makes lots of vapor. Then it turns black and hardens the more you vape it. It will be hard and black when it's done. If there's white ash you went too far.

I'm interested in how the screen will work with waxes (and herb) .
Does the black stuff stick to the screen?
Would it make it hard to get the wax or whatever off the screen?
I don't know yet how Vapman will sell the screens - will they be cheap and disposable? Or come in sets of 3 to 5?
I can't wait to get my hands on a Vapman screen and test it out. I have been using my DIY screen and really haven't noticed that much difference in taste.
I noticed that I have to give it a bit more heat, since the herb is up and separated from the pan/bowl.
I think the best thing about it is that if you used a screen from the get-go, your bowl would remain as good as new... forever?
Logic says the screen should give it a convection effect? Maybe?
Must experiment some more...
I'll have to "take a bullet for the team" and put in more time experimenting...

I don't own one yet, but it looks like Stainless Steel? In which case it's very easy to clean......'flame it'. Hold it by the edge with a retired roach clip (or anything else handy) and use a small torch type lighter to 'nuke it until it glows'. That is get the mesh incandescent red. Then simply brush any ash off and soldier on.

Yep, those sorts of temperatures are deep into Copper Oxide all right. Some of the little torches can even melt Brass (which is what screens really are, copper being too soft). But SS is mighty tough stuff, a serious advantage here.
For normal vape stuff I like really fine screens, meaning they foul fast. With some strains, even a few sessions is enough. But they're cheap so I save dirty ones in a jar until there's enough of them to make breaking out the torch and brush worth while. It doesn't take long to get them back in the 'ready to use' jar once the fun starts.......

Thats funny..after a few sessions with my vapman i was able to translate him. He said nothing of the sort. He said i should get the new concentrate screen and have a little dab.....i may be wrong but that is what i understood him to say.he says that you should buy a vapman for me and send it to me... otherwise your vapman karma will be bad and you want get any vapor out of your vapman anymore...
