MiniVAP Vaporizer

Almost there...
I have had mine for two weeks and I feel it needs a cleaning!
The taste is still amazing but I feel it is somewhat tainted.

A quick Iso clean and it is back to being awesome again!

@Smknbud Thanks for those measurements!!
I was thinking of measuring the teflon liner but it is too flexible.
Wonder if i can source some titanium tube of the correct size?

I've always used the green setting and red setting for glass. After reading your posts about the lower settings, just recently I have been using the pink setting, then finish off with green.. I feel like there is even more extraction, absolutely amazing taste on pink..floored :whoa: I've found the Minivap has a much different vape signature from the Herbalizer too.
I have had good results with loading directly into the chamber. I haven't had to use the baskets. I just blow any remains out and wipe the inside with iso. The bottom screens seem to get hot enough to clean themselves.

I'll often start on pink with a direct draw thru the 2" mouthpiece for that wispy lemony super incredible taste. Then move to green for a fuller taste. Then take 5 seconds to drop the flexicone/basket module
into my Mobius bubbler to finish the tri-vape-alon

Try the large basket with the arizer basket (from the EQ) placed into it. Extraction is ramped up I feel. The herb stay doubly close to the heating elements. I know I'm repeating myself but really eager to have this validated.

And yeah great work with the measurements. Helpful to have options for sure my man

Can someone please post pics of these baskets as mine only came with one size. I'd guess it's the large as it's deeper than it is wide. I think the small is rather shallow??
Pics of side by side and your mV + Arizer basket.

So with the mV large basket and the Arizer basket placed into it, will that still snap into the Flexicone??
Thanks

edit..shit picture! I realised after sorry. Using the combo with my straw now so those puppies are otherwise engaged. :o
The baskets basking.. :brow:
I don't even know if you people can view. Let me know cheers.
Middle one is the arizer.
@MinnBobber

And yeah:nod: it still snaps:whip:right in there, more rim showing but still a perfectly effective seal. The rims get pretty flush. The arizer built also have more angled sides.. Maybe this draws hot air in a slightly different sort of path. Nice abv.

@Smknbud.. Be gentle And try to only have pressure on the rims. Delicate are those baskets. :goon:

The two combined.. Still good sealage

I figured that out quick enough.

I actually took a cue from what I do with my Ascent as a spacer. I used some lead free glass beads to fill the void. Works perfect. Jury is still out if it makes much of a difference between using the large vs smaller baskets.

I tried the large basket with an EVO ELB cap pushing the load down.
Results on GREEN - fair
Remove EVO basket, stir load, repeat.
Results on GREEN - AWESOMENESS!!

For me the only difference in basket size is relative to the length of the session you are planning!
Small basket i can finish in one session.
Large basket usually takes two or three session, depending on WT usage.

fuck me, my miniVAP failed.

the miniVAP is 100% worth the money, but only if it works. I'm sure my warranty will be honored but seriously I'd be lying if I said this doesn't sting. I've had it for 3 weeks and treated it very well.

my miniVAP started to run cool a few days ago. I can still set the temp to whatever setting and the light stops blinking, but the unit just is not getting hot anymore.

I bought it from Vapornation so I am going to start the process by contacting them. will let you know how it goes

sorry to hear kimura, hope you get a repaired or exchanged MV soon.

recently i got a hold of some concentrate and didn't really get great performance with the liquid pad. it basically evaporated and condensed on the inside of the heating chamber, especially the flexicone part. I pulled really hard, so hard that with herb, it would paint the room white, but almost nothing come out if it. not even a lot of taste.
tried it with the concentrate rolled up in some cotton but that just turned the cotton green from the evaporated goods.

also realized that by pushing a q-tip through a flexicone+ with resin built up it is very simple to collect those condensed precious goods. i'd love to have recycling session every week or two with a cotton ball of yumm but how to get it to come out of the whip?

Not sure if you tried it or whether it will make any difference, but maybe reset the unit? Basically, using with battery turn on as usual and then detach and then re-attach battery. Certainly can't hurt if you haven't tried.

X2
sometimes it will do something odd and detaching battery and reattaching it clears it up.
And one time the temp light stayed off and I put it in the charging cradle for 30 seconds and then it worked fine

@kimura Shit man that sucks!!!
Have you had any luck with the reset?
Hope it can be rectified quickly!

EDIT:
So 7 minutes have passed since the above post.
What did i do in that time?
Set MV to GREEN
Load large basket 2/3rds full of Purple Kush
Snap into Flexicone and insert into bubbler
Do one dry inhale through the MV to preheat the chamber
Hit the bubbler for 10 seconds, white wall!!!
Huge delicious cloud!!!
One more time then!!!
White wall again!!!
Did not realize how big the hit was but it came out in 3 massive clouds!
Tapped out after that...
This thing does hit hard!

Sorry kimura...

Lol dammit @lazylathe

Yeah guys I have tried rebooting it several times using both the battery and the wall adapter. It's strange because it appears to function fine and does warm up somewhat but nowhere near where it needs to be. the vapor is just no longer there at all. Not even on the red setting. All other variables remain constant. And I know it's not the herb because I can toss it in my EVO and blow clouds

I got an email from Vapornation saying that they would send me another email with the return address and other info. Once they receive my unit they will test it and if they determine it to be malfunctioning they will send me a replacement. They did say that if the unit is not malfunctioning they will have to return it to me as is. Makes me slightly nervous that they made a point of saying that, even though my unit is definitely malfunctioning.

I hope they hurry up and give me the shipping info, and I hope they do the right thing with my MV

Kimura, mine had the same power drop and just like yours it functioned properly for all but for the actual heat coming through the device being hot enough to give any vapour. Ever so slight taste, even on red and drawing slowly, though nothing like the actual vapour produced even on the blue setting. Hopefully someone at varornation has used one before. I would only have to assume so. I mean why sell a product so expensive not having had 1st hand appreciation of its merits.. And indeed shortcomings. When your replacement unit reaches you the taste will be worth it.

Edit. What do you mean by whitewalls? Like a near passout?
And nice straw.

Ah I see.. On that note though.. I've nearly passed out a couple of times with monster packed WT hits on red. Like that ning ning ning sensation coupled with having to speedily put the MV and WT down so I don't break them should I not be able sit down in time. I think this was partially due to my taking massive lung busting hits and holding it in before getting up and moving to blow the cloud out of a window ten feet away.

LOL!
I get the same thing with certain strains, almost like you are going to black out for a second or so.
Everything goes dark and extremely quiet for a while and then things come back into focus.

Not sure why the MV still seems to get me more medicated than any of my other vapes, but i am NOT complaining!

THE KISS FREAK

Rock & Roll All Night & Party Every Day!
Hello All, Finally getting to my Mini review. I started it several times amd it got deleted each time. Bastard, LOL. I've been vaping oil for 2 years now and wanted to get into vaping my Herbal Medicine, after too many yrs. of combusting it. My only other experience is with my Bender attachment for Persei, which I Love but needs good technique to use without combusting and it's kinda awkward/bulky and it's made of glass and I'm afraid to take it out of the house in fear of breaking it. And a friend let me try a couple 3 bags from his digital Volcano, whew wow that was GOOD! So the SEARCH began for a portable herbal vape that was convection(don't want my meds to cook while not inhaling), with good battery life and made of good quality products with a clean safe air path and something that I didn't have to stop every few hits to stir!

Started to follow the FireFly thread here, had me really intrigued. Convection, Good build quality, stainless air path. Very promising. Reading more and seems like it needs a technique to master hits, needs stirring and battery life doesn't seem ideal enough for my needs and therefore I'd want the additional battery and external charger. That'd make it like $330 U.S. before taxes and shipping. Ok, at the same time this Elevape Smart thread caught my attention, kinda weird looking, seems to need the constant stirring, think was like $360 or so. So I'm still watching both threads and deciding What To Do??

I'd heard of this Most Expensive vape on the planet and when I had found it to be the MiniVap at $1,000 I laughed and said to myself " I'll never be able to afford this thing". Put on the back Burner and started to follow this thread from the beggining.

Then a Member put up and Ad from VaporNation for 25% off sale on the Mini, BAM I order me up a nice sleek God Portable Version for only $389 U.S. with extra freebies and free shipping. Got it within a week I think, and it Included The Heater (top) Battery(bottom), 1 Small Basket, 1 Large Basket, 1 Flexi-cone, 1 Flexi-cone+, 4 Screens, 1 Liquid Pad, 1 Hard Mouthpiece consisting of 2 pcs., 1 Cleaning Brush and a Quick Start Guide. Oh yeah and the sweet carry case!

I'm very Glad that I purhased this and I haven't combusted my medicine since!:clap:As I stated earlier I'm no vaporizer pro as this is my 1st Herbal vape. Now that I said that, I Love this thing! The Build Quality is very nice and looks to be durable. It's Convection which I wanted. The Battery Life is Exceptional! I've used this exclusively for Herbs over the last 3 weeks or so and I'm Very Impressed! I've tried every conceivable way to use this vape, hard cone with hard mouthpiece and with flexi-tube, flexi-cone and hard mouthpiece, flexi-cone and my Water Tools, flexi-cone+ with 1/2 hard mouthpiece, and even tried the Liquid /Pad with some BHO. I have yet to try putting right into loading chamber, only baskets so far as I want to keep it as clean as possible.
Here's my findings or in other words my :2c:
I found all ways of using it to be Very Satisfactory except for the hard cone, I can't seem to get the full vapor I can get from the flexi-cone and flexi-cone+. Probably due to it not making as good a contact with the loading chamber like the flexi's do. Not too sure about the Liquid Pad either yet as I've only tried it once for a couple of hits, & it was just ok compared to my PERSEI, means I've got Lots more testing to do with the Liquid Pad. Battey life is Great! And I love the fact that I DO NOT HAVE TO STIR! My abv comes out a nice even dark brown color every time! Having the 4 heat settings is awesome, I can start on Blue if I want and get nice wispy Tasties of light blue color, then I can go up to Pink and the vapor production increases dramatically still nice and Tasty and Lots more visible vapor, Then on to Green, Great Vapor production, nice clouds! Still tasty untill near the end of a load, I can then go to Red to completely extract all that can be extracted. Red is a little on the warmer side, I'm new to this so I do find that I get a little scratchy and dry throat even on Green, but a few sips of water and I'm back on the horse. I'm going to be looking to ad a vapor conditioner/cooler to see if this will help. Generally unless I have the extra time to vape, I'll just start on Green. Now for the lights, still trying to figure them, kinda scewy sometimes it'll go from green battery light to red and then back to green again all on it's own with no changes from me. Also the batty light goes green, yellowish/green, then red, no orange as guide states? And over the last few days I've been turning it on to only have it shut itself off again, I've just been un doing battery and reconnecting it and that seems to Re-Set it. Overall I'm EXtremely Pleased with this product, does what it claims it does and does it Well! Price may be prohibitave for some, but after reading on all the threads here to see that alot of people have wasted more than the cost of MiniVap trying to find the right portable for them wih alot of their expectations not being met! So I think the Price is worth it, IMHO even at full price especially since it's been Lab tested by 2 seperate Labs. AWESOME! Plus as an American I'm very very happy that it doesn't say made in china unlike every other product in my life right now. And yes they seem to be very proud of their accesories as their prices reflect. But I'm still going to Buy a bunch of accesories from their site. And besides I can't find them anywhere else? LOL, like the adapter to run at home, xtra baskets, screens, flexi-cones and flexi +, they have some nice kits that contain a variety of all.
So in conclusion Great Product, Does what it's supposed to! And seems so far to be well worth the price of admission! I've written to George I think ? Still waiting on a response via the contact on their webpage. I've read about LOOONGG wait time for a response so I was already prepared for this. Keep you posted, I'm gonna try to add a small video of it in action, not sure how to do that yet, so fingers crossed here goes, update just tried and looks like gotta upload to youtube first, stay tuned, shooting for later tonight

Peace all, Happy Vaping
