I get about 3 to 4 sessions from my solo as each takes 15 to 20 minutes to cook the herb fully imo. So this is no improvement over the solo and would give me less than my flowermate manages.

Usb charging is a good feature but imo can't make up for the average battery performance?

I don't have any experience with the Solo to compare it to the Crafty. But the guy on reddit said the Crafty gets “4-5 bowls total out of a charge.” And the person who posted a Crafty review on here said...

I've been watching this thread. The price is an issue. I love portables. The Mighty looks too big. The Crafty looks about the size of a Solo, maybe a bit smaller. My Solo is 5 months old and I get about 8 - 12 min sessions per charge. If I want portability I use an @Ed's TnT mouthpiece. If it's similar to the Solo in taste why would I spend the extra $ ? If the price comes down I may decide to buy eventually. I do like the USB charge. I have an Indica it has a USB port and its around $200. Plus great flavor.

There are lots of portables coming on the market. Im sure these are very well built units. Worth the cost for some folks I'm sure.

Im saving for a Herbie.

I see your point. I've never seen those wooden options. I might have to reconsider the Solo.

I'm thinking about selling my Plenty now - as much as I love it, a portable just sounds too appealing at this point.

Echoing what people above are saying about USB - to me that might put it even over the Mighty. I have god knows how many USB battery packs that were given away as promotional items, and just about everyone has a USB charger these days.

Even though it's been speculated (and I believe someone mentioned on the Mighty thread that S&B said) that the performance of the two units are equal, I'm still hung up on the 3W power difference. It sounds like on the Mighty thread, taking a hit can drop the temperature pretty noticeably, and so I'm thinking that the Crafty might have a steeper temperature drop while inhaling.

Of course, all of this is moot until some more people try it. I'm going to have to wait regardless for the iPhone app to be approved, but I wouldn't be surprised if the app gets declined altogether. Hoping for the best.

TBH the selfish side of me hopes apple rejects it, just so they will be forced to drive prices down.

But the realistic majority part of me doesn't wish harm on anyone else, just because they use a different locked down phone system. As long as the apple handicap doesn't drag the rest of us down, I really don't care.

I just ordered a Crafty, but I don't have an Android. I downloaded an emulator onto my Macbook Pro and the app seems to run. The bluetooth should be compatible given it meets the required specs. So I'll report back in a day or two to let everyone know if it works, since being able to change the settings via a computer should open the doors for some Android-less users. If it doesn't work then I'll be bugging the hell out of some of my friends to use their phones :D

It's obvious that a lot of thought was put into the ability to clean this device. The cooling tower comes apart to clean, and you'll definitely need to clean it regularly, as evidenced here. That picture was taken after 6 loads, and the ABV you see there is very sticky. A little iso and a q-tip worked well, but do not use the brush or you will ruin it.

IMO, if you're paying $500 USD for a portable, what's another $20 to get a used android phone? It's not like you need it to do much other than run the app.

Only certain Android phones will work, I'm finding out. It took me a number of tries to find a device through the emulator that would run the app. And that one is well over $100 used. Check out the list on the Crafty site of proven devices thus far. They aren't the cheapest.

I love android, but most of the $20 used phones won't have BLE. You need bt low energy.

Quite honestly Apple could totally reject the app completely, and everyone would be "screwed" if they wanted more than 2 temps. This is the kind of stuff android was built for, compatibility and tinkering and providing an open platform for people to use for their projects.

Any tech savvy people know a way to run an Android app on a jailbroken iPhone 5s? Is that a possibility?

I checked out the Apple App review site and there's an option for developers to request an expedited review if they need the app to coincide with a special event, like a product release. It'd be nice if S&B utilized this option.

There is no way. You need libraries and frameworks from the android OS.

There is a emulator on web that works on ios, but I don't have experience with 5s nor if the Bluetooth connection works, even if the app itself works.

I don't quite understand why S&B opted for an external operating system for temp selections. Why not just build in 3-6 popular user selectable vape temps via dial or readout? Charging w/USB is wonderful, but USB for temp programming just seems more gimmicky to me than practical.

I agree, even a crude way of changing temps without an app would have been preferable IMO. Have the app as a way to make precise adjustments.

That app being necessary was the deciding factor in me choosing the Mighty. The size of the Crafty is right where I would have preferred but being able to adjust temp easily outweighed the size factor in the end.

If the Mighty works as advertised though I might have to sell my Solo and WISPR to bring the Crafty into the fold.

Got my Crafty on Monday. Haven't tested is as much as I would like to but I will share my initial thoughts and add to them later, if necessary.

Like the size a lot. Fits very easily in my pocket. I don’t drive so this is extremely important for me. I absolutely love the build quality, love the engineering, and love the vape quality. There are lots of small pieces but they all fit together nicely. The device feels sturdy and well built, albeit with a lot of plastic. I find the vapor to be very strong and very clean. Taste is excellent and might even be a bit better than the Volcano.

For me, the size of the oven is perfect. Not too big, not too small but just right. Like it was made for Goldie Lox.

Biggest concern is that I have been only able to get about three chambers per battery charge. For me, this was a disappointment. I was hoping for more. Just like my old iPhone, while it was easy to charge, I didn’t enjoy being forced to do it so often.

The charging cord is short. A little too short for me. Although it is very cool that you can vape while charging if you are partially charged, the cord is too short for this to practically work.

The LED is really bright. So bright that you really can't charge this thing in your bedroom while you sleep. I would dim the LED but I use an iPhone and the iOS app is still under review. When it comes out, the first thing I will do is dim the LED.

The screen at the bottom of the oven seems impossible to clean. I consider this to be a drawback because it will eventually get extremely dirty.

All in all, I love the device. Just wish the battery lasted longer, that the cord was longer, and that the screen under the oven could be cleaned. Will try my best to answer any questions you good people might have. Can’t wait for the iOS app!

Welcome to FC! Nice review. In regards to the screen, if it's anything like the Plenty or Volcano I'm pretty sure all it takes is brushing after each session and you're fine. Also, it sounds like you are getting less sessions per charge than I've seen reported so far. Maybe something is up with your unit? :shrug:

What temp are you using? And about how long does it take you to go through those 3 bowls? Are we talking 10 minutes use, a half hour, an hour?
