I'm really excited to hear how it stacks up to the MiniVap, I get the feeling that's going to be the Mighty's biggest competition. Please keep us posted!!!

To me, both of these vapes are in the semi-portable category. Perfect for carrying all over your house, the backyard, to your buddies, in the car, etc. But not really for the bar, an event, or a restaurant. Even the Crafty is pretty big. I actually like the Mighty better. Lately I've gotten so bored of desktop vapes being tied to my bedroom. After searching so long for a pocketable herb pen, I've realized a concentrate pen in still a better choice for a discrete device. Half the battle of being discreet isn't just vape size but medicine delivery; and for that reason oils are my preference on the go.

I want to know how it compares to the Cloud Evo (although not portable) and other high end devices. Also curious of the vapor path, and how well it handles concentrates and water tools.

Do we have any information about the heating element? What is it made out of, where is it located, etc.

I'm guessing it is located BELOW the bowl, which means the vaporizer is operating as a mostly convection style unit. Of course, the bowl probably gets quite hot during use, which creates a conductive effect as well. The question is, how much conduction are we talking? Is the bowl getting as hot as a Firefly bowl, or is it hotter than that? I don't think I have an issue with the 1 minute shut-off, as long as the unit heats up quickly.

I wonder how accurate the temperature read out actually is. I would think it is quite accurate, similar to the Volcano and Plenty. I would certainly expect it to be at this price point. There must be temperature sensors in or around the bowl area.

Based on the design, I would think this unit has better flavor than the Solo, but some people have mentioned that it wasn't much better, or that the Solo actually has better flavor. If that's true, I won't be purchasing. The flavor and smoothness of the vapor needs to be at least on par with the Firefly for me to consider buying one. Will keep waiting for more reviews. My VAS is back with a vengeance.

I just looked at the miniVAP and it looks incredible. Their US distribution seems pretty weak though. Are they big in other countries? I definitely like the looks. The design and name of these new Storz & Bickel vapes seems a bit odd considering how iconic the Volcano was. Of course performance is more important but I do prefer visually stunning items when they cost hundreds of dollars.

I am an endurance athlete with a large lung capacity. Most will take in less.
Wonderful! That means going slow won't be a problem for you. A lot of people don't like to go slow because they have weak lungs.

Can you make the video so I can compare how the different inhaling techniques effect the temperature?

@Dom2222 Can you do the same to see how good the temperature regulation is?

I'm also thinking that a slow inhale would help the battery last longer since it needs less power to keep the temperature stable, that is if inhaling slow keeps it stable.

While the Mighty comes with a plastic case intended for a small stash and a "measuring cup" for loading, I find it easier to load with a demitasse spoon or plastic sample spoon from an ice cream store.

The slower you draw, the less effect on temp. reading. Set at 385, and using my tongue as a "bellow" (meaning, shifting my tongue from a full, closed, no-air mouth, to back as far as I can pull back, allowing the voided space to pull air from the mouthpiece), the temp goes down from 385 to 382. Slowly drawing, as if a person were sipping air from a cocktail straw, I can keep it at 382. I can see the display as I inhale if I hold it more horizontal.

The 1 minute session begins when you reach temp.[EDIT: actually, no. It is one minute of inactivity based on your setpoint temp] The Mighty vibrates in your hand. But if you inhale as it is reaching desired temp, the temp falls. It is not hard to keep it below temp setpoint.

I only have a few bowls of weed left and am not quite sure when I'll get more so how about just taking my word that if you inhale slower it will indeed maintain temperature better. I was pulling quite hard in the video. If you sip then the temp maintains within a few degrees. My video represents how it would handle a circle of users.

I can confirm elmomuzz is correct after testing this myself and to be honest, even with a fast draw it only takes a few seconds to come back up to temperature.

Initial taste impressions (2 bowls) is that this thing is excellent. I own a Pax and Volcano so can only really compare it to them. The flavour is definitely better than the Pax and lasts longer into the bowl aswell, the Pax initially tasts good on low but soon degrades into medium and high heat. I'd say the mighty is on par with the Volcano in terms of taste.

Draw resistance is really slim. I've used a friends stock stem solo which we noted was tough to draw. The Pax is medium resistance but could be mitigated with a technique to let air on through your mouth as you draw. No problems with the mighty, really easy to draw and cool consistent vapor.

I ran a bowl on 170 for a minute then repeated at 180 then 200, maybe 20 draws at a medium draw rate. The abv came out at about what you'd see a Volcano do after a few bags up to 8 classic or 214. I tipped it into cano abv and it blended in.

Will get to put it through its paces at the weekend properly.

X2---Mighty vs miniVAP????
Same here, like to see how it stacks up vs the miniVAP on several elements:
1. taste. miniVap has superb taste with it's 2" vapor path and certified clean air pathway
2. battery life. mV has up to 3 hour battery life. I'm just guessing Mighty will be much less?
3. versatility. mV with wire basket can switch from direct draw to bubbler in 5 seconds, And you can load the basket elsewhere/ have extra baskets loaded for on the go.
4. portable and desktop use. Will the Mighty ever get an AC adapter to run AC like the mV has?
5. maintenance. How much cleaning on the Mighty? On the mV using the wire basket, there is almost no
cleaning required inside the unit--just the mouthpiece or whip
6. startup time. It seems the Mighty will heat up quicker but that's very low priority for me.
7. extra battery. Can you easily swap in spare battery on the Mighty? I thought you can't access it/ need to send to them when replacement needed. mV can swap to spare battery in 5 seconds.
8. will Mighty work fine with very small loads?

Inquiring minds want to know :)

what if it does reach temp, and you take the draw afterwards?
i was under the impression that hitting it, resets the 1 minute anyway :hmm:

Yes, I think you are right. Hitting it resets the clock when it reaches setpoint. So it is a minute of inactivity that turns it off. Hmm, I need to try it multiple times to assure myself. I'm a "Doubting Thomas" kinda guy.

On the street, this would look like a flask with a straw. Or put headphone mini-jack in tool location so as to appear like a music player/radio with a straw. It doesn't hiss like an Iolite.

I thought you would find this interesting. Using a Flir infrared camera I took a picture of my Mighty after inhaling through it a few times at full heat so you could see the heater and vapor path. You can see that by the time it reaches the mouthpiece it is cool.

Could you take a photo while it is being hit? That may also be useful...

@elmomuzz - damn, you have some cool non-wheeled toys, too. it looks like the vapor takes a right turn and goes across the entire width of the device to get to the mouth piece, yes? where does the air enter the device?

Nice. I'd love to see pics like this done with other portables as well for comparisons sake. Great idea....

Got the mighty yesterday, hitting it does not reset the shut off time but simply going up one or two degrees keeps it going. besides the price it is one hell of a vape.

Are you sure about this? I just re-watched elmomuzz's video and it stays on for well over a minute without him adjusting temperature.

mighty & crafty manual said:
Automatic switching off
The automatic switching off is used to save battery capacity so that the va- porizer can be used as long as pos- sible without charging. The device switches off automatically one minute after the last press of a but- ton or the last application. The switch- ing off of the vaporizer is indicated by a short vibration. A short press of the ON/OFF switch during operation can reset the automatic switching- off to one minute.
application = hit, as per manual

What is your opinion on the LCD screen? I think someone mentioned earlier that it seemed to be very vulnerable to peeling or damage. Do you find that to be true?

I'm assuming "last application" means take a hit? lol
haha indeed... i added it to my previous post, a bit too late, sorry :p
too fast to post, and then realize to lookup the "application" .. chapter nine, about hitting it, is titled "application"
