Just to clarify, I have never tried a cano or any other bag type systems*

I absolutely love the function, the taste is very notable. I think the big win for me was having a unit that didn't have any glass that was able to produce such flavor + punch, considering I like to bring my vape toys when I go to outdoor events with an outlet close by. I am in california so its frosty, but its nice to not have to have anxiety with an Evo + buzzed friends, especially given the simplicity

I also have to add, I haven't played around too much with the lower temps, I am always on max 440, but as someone who smokes cigs :ninja: I like the thick potent clouds, but sadly don't see myself seeing worth running the same basket more than once:shrug:, given I have tried multiple material. But don't be fooled, you will get what you need out of that bag. My motto is if I can make myself teary eyed without much effort, and full of flavor without fearing combustion, im all go:tup:

This is coming from a high tolerance user, but the main issue I have is the gasket above the basket; tried cleaning the first one with ISO before just using one of the 2 extras the unit came with, but it didn't work effectively compared to putting a brand new one in. Understand this can be a real annoyance at times, especially when showing it off to friends and having to fumble with a hot *teflon?* gasket

because the leak if you don't fix it right away is like getting kicked in the crotch, lets just say this incredible unit has one flaw I have yet to figure out. Owned less than a month

To fix your gasket issue, instead of having the lip flipped up toward the ceiling flip the lip of the gasket down inside of the bowl. It'll make a perfect seal every time and won't ever fall out. The gasket drove me insane when I had my ion until I figured that out.

Now to put it through a good amount of cycles and hope the heat doesn't cause the same issue to occur, but I did what you said effectively with a bit of effort. I think I'll turn off my Solo and see if she can fill my 8ft bag without leaking, its funny cause its less than 3ft from me, and I can instantly smell right when the leak starts. Just tedious to stop the fan, unclick the mouth piece and fumble with

WOW! This is back on the market???

Man, I LOVED my old one! Best vape I've had the pleasure of using... LOVE the one handed loading!
Only "problem" was that was just to much for me by self you know... Two bags would put meh on meh arse! Got almost 4 bags out of a bowl (last one was bit wispy some times, but by the time you got there... Honestly, almost never got there, just left that last bag laying around some where to be found at a later date... The third bag two!) Didn't have much company though, so it really kinda went to waist.

I remember filling up the 8 foot party bag once.... THAT was just stupid ridiculous and I had 7' ceilings!. Man you can turn it on with your phone now! Man.... I miss my old one so much I almost want to get a new one...

Can't be-leave how long ago that was! Haha, seems like the other day.

Any one use it with their phone????? What's better then a remote control vape!!!
Wish I got around to messing with the soft-ware.... :(

Enjoy it every body! Man just think how awesome the next version could be! This beast is still boss on today's market! Only reasons I can think why one wouldn't get it is because you can afford the herbalizer no problem, demand all glass vapor path, or don't like bags in the first place and want a faster heat up time.. . Or you want log vape maybe....

Sorry so late to the party... :)

Better late than never!
(I never knew it was "off the market")
Glad you're here!

Yeah... Remember a few years back the FDA all the sudden started throw a big huge stink about vapes not having any "true" "medicinal" value or other "proper uses"? (Think they were mostly just supper pissed about this new MMJ thing, WHAT DO YOU MEAN WE CANT THROW THEM IN JAIN ANY MORE??? or something like that)
Basically said they were worthless garbage that their only use was for hippies and stupid pot head college kids use to get "high", or something like that, on tell some one pays to have some researchers/scientists proved other wise.... So basically labeled vapes "paraphernalia", more or less, to be jerks (and make money with taxes and fees for testing/researching or w.e. bureaucratic b.s. red tape) and so they got barred from the US market. :(

Thats why I had to buy mine used. Was dumb dumb and waited just a LIL" too long you know... And I didn't really think it would get THAT "serious" you know? Also had like 3 VB/easy vape (one OG, two nice knock offs) type box vapes...

Any way, yeah a lot of vapes got pulled for lil' bit because there were not really very many established companies around. Didn't last long at ALL... Honestly if I wasn't trying to get the Zephyr Ion at the time, I wouldn't have even known it happened, it was so quick.

So yeah, I think that's WHY they didn't really catch on.... Was not for sell here in the U.S. market (or ANY where on line) for quite a while when most people really started hearing about it . (such as in my case) :/
Don't know if they stopped production, or just stayed out of US market or what... I thought they were never coming back.

Really want another one! Sucks I missed out on the sale's too! $350 is just a lil' too steep for me right now honestly, but it definitely worth it. I loved my old one so much, just was usually a lil' to much for me by my self you now?

Man, I'm really thinking about jumping on this, there's so many nights I wish I could just lay in bed and medicate with a balloon vape. But the Volcano was just too much for me to justify the value to me vs cost. Not that it's not worth the money, it was just too far out of my budget just to have another vaporizer when the ones I already have work great.

At half the price it's tempting, but does anyone know why it was off the market for a while?

Yeah I do. They got their whole shipment held up by US Customs and they gave them a pretty hard time.
I thought it might put them under. Definitely slowed them down.

Which reminds me, I wonder how Bruce is. He was their US marketing guy. I liked him.

The cheapest average price seems to be around $350. There's a bunch of sites selling them, im not sure what's best site. I ordered from my usual Canadian store.

Edit: I paid $275 on sale.

Think I'll write up a review early next week. So far it's been working flawlessly, and has been performing just as well as my friends original volcano. But I'll get into that later.

Add a Zephyr Ion to you cart and enter to the following code during checkout for $200 off your order: 10e5862243. The code is valid for 60 days.

On the Zephyr Ion website. Brings the price down to $259. I got the code from reddit. Not sure if it works.

Zephyr Ion Review

So my experience with desktop vaporizers is limited to this unit and my friends original Volcano. So I can only compare these two units. Luckily they are both bag unit's. I do not have the whip for the Zephyr Ion but I plan on getting it and trying it later on. Vaporizers that I do or have own(ed) are the MFLB, Solo, Lotus, and now the Zephyr Ion.

To get the unit going was incredibly easy, and the instruction book was detailed enough. There was virtually no learning curve. The book says to fill the bowl from a quarter to a half full, so I tried both at 375F. The quarter full gave me a nice buzz and filled one bag well and the other was kind of wispy the half would fill two well, the first was thickest and the third was wispy. The taste was great, and it was extremely smooth.

When I would re-use the ABV at 440F I would get very cloudy/milky bags, while still tasting very smooth. As far as taste/smoothness goes, I would say it's about the same as the original Volcano. I ran the Zephyr Ion pretty much all night on Saturday and had no issues.

One of the things that has pro's and con's to it as opposed to the Volcano is that the Volcano has an aluminum heating element, so it heat's up very fast. While the Zephyr Ion has a ceramic heating element which takes a while to heat up. However when I used it with a group of friends, I would find once I filled a few bags and turned it off, then turn it back on again 45 minuets later the heat up time was cut in half. So I assume the heating element stays warm for a long period of time. It says to keep the lid up after use to avoid excess heat in the instruction book.

I can't spend much more time on this, it's getting pretty long already. So I'll end it here.

I find that I can get a couple of good bags out of the same amount using the Volcano, compared to one good bag using the Zephyr. Is that what you found also?

It really depended on the temperature and how much we used. If I use it on 375 then 420 with a quarter full bowl I get two good bags with the Zephyr. 475 just milks it.

I haven't had much hands on time with the original volcano as the owner likes to operate it, so I couldn't tell you what he was doing. I not even sure what temperature he had it on, sorry.

I can really only compare flavor, and smoothness.
