for those of you who vape outdoor weed or unknown origin weed, heres an important health tip

Blow the first hit out through your vape. Don't inhale it, instead blow it out the wrong end into the air. Reason being that outdoor weed can have mold, bacteria, etc. I'm not a germaphobe or any of that BS, this is actually a serious and legitimate health concern from what I've read on AFnet ... I saw a doctor recommend that people cook their cannabis at 200f before smoking to kill mold/bacteria, but for those with a vape this is easier. Moldy plants happen a lot outdoors, in my climate about in in 6 plants gets seriously molded out here, usually the most indica variety, short and stout. And I'm sure sometimes there is mold we cant see easily. I feel safer doing this personally. Its true cannabis has antibacterial properties itself, but mold is still a problem, and even the best anti bacterias do not have a very wide range of uses in terms of the amount of species of bacteria that exist, our best medicines to my understanding can only kill a fraction of whats out their, I would expect cannabis to be the same, but perhaps I am wrong to assume this. Thank you, this is a good informative post. I've been doing my herb on setting 2 of the Solo, then up it to 4-5 to end the session. I feel that my high quality outdoor (in good soil, mature and well cured) is much better than most street weed that is likely indoor. I've always been able to detect more harshness in hydro especially. Many people do indoor soil and hydro well though.

I feel that outdoor cannabis is very healthy! But mold is definitely a problem

It can happen indoors too, care must be taken.

Yeah, there's nothing wrong with outdoor weed by any stretch, IME the best weed in the world is outdoor landrace but that's just my bias, and yeah, indoor weed can have lots of pest problem too. If I was theoretically selling outdoor weed(that's not even a legal disclaimer, I'm really not), I would just put half a pound at a time in the oven at 220F for 30 minutes, but for individual use, if I have a gram, this is easier

Another very good legitimate reason for legalization! I am sick and tired of supporting the black market. I want weed that is consistent and clean. But this is a good idea. Unfortunately that first hit is the tastiest!

out here in norcal i get a steady stream of requests from people wanting to know if i can use their moldy herb to make concentrates. there is a ton of mildewy, moldy garbage that goes around and plenty of people still willing to pass it on as "medicine" for a buck. sickening.

Sadly, those of us in non legal states rarely have much of a choice. I can't remember the last time I turned something down that I had in front of me, unless it was about price...

Assuming you have the proper equipment and knowledge, you actually can salvage some moldy product into concentrate safely.

I know someone who uses moldy weed to make Ganja Beer.
