The Mighty/Mighty+ by Storz & Bickel

It does seem as though the Mighty will be competing with the likes of the MiniVap (which I VAS hard for), however I have to doubt the Mighty will be able to have as much vapour output as a MV (going by Roger D videos)...Just for the fact that if the Mighty has the same output as a MV, and the Crafty (according to S&B) has the same performance at the Mighty, then by extention the little Crafty would also match the vapour output of a MiniVap.......and this I doubt, but would love to be wrong......any thoughts?

It will be very interesting to see how this pair stacks up against the miniVAP. I have a miniVAP and it amazes me as it's like super premium desktop quality in a portable ( but not stealth portable) vape.
Will the Mighty battery last anywhere near the mVAP battery? Will the taste be as good as the mV which I think tastes better than the Volcano? Will it mate up with a bubbler as easily as the mVAP (5 seconds to switch to bubbler)? It won't have AC plugin option like the mVAP. Will it clean as easily or will you have to buy a replacement cooling chamber like someone mentioned?
New competition is always good.

I am really curious to find out how the recharge times differ. The Mighty has double the battery size, but it can draw 36 watts while charging, whereas the Crafty can only pull 10 watts. So is it safe to assume that the mighty should recharge almost twice as fast?

Both units take about 2 hours to charge, according to an e-mail response I received from S&B. The Mighty requires a bigger power draw to charge in that time because it has two batteries compared to the Crafty's one battery.

The solo is wonderful and has been my portable for over two years but it can not compare to the mighty. The mighty has a much less restricted air path while at the same time denser vapor. It actually gives a denser hit then the plenty while taking less effort but gives less of them because the bowl is smaller. Here is the quick and nasty...

Thanks for the review. Denser than the plenty with less hits? Wow, thats impressive. I'd imagine the effects are amazing.

How well does it work half packed with the liquid pad? Also do you find the auto shutoff to be bothersome at all? How long does it take for it to shut off?

I posted a similar question in the Crafty thread.
An engineer friend in Germany told me that the Mighty Vape was actually built in the Philippine Islands.
Can anyone comment on this?

Damn them, Stortz & Bickel! Pandering to those with V.A.S. Have they no shame, encouraging V.A.S.ers with cool new vaporizers? I thought I was a Master of My Own Domain, But I, too, broke down, and a Mighty is on the truck as I sp, er, type, so that I might be delivered at least, momentarily from the dreaded V.A.S.

Damn You, Stortz & Bickel! I can't wait to see what you've done. Satisfied?

So what would you like to see in a video? I'll make another this evening.

I know I would love to see the abv, and whether it will require a stir. I'm waiting on some more info, like materials used in the bowl and airpath, as well as another taste comparison. I've used both the firefly and volcano and they aren't even close taste wise IMO. A bag vs full convection is a pretty easy win for convection in my book. Seems like this would accompany my elevape perfectly when I'm looking at a bigger group of combusters, or feel like going back to a session vape

Cool! If there's any way to get a close up of the bowl or oven or whatever they call it, that would be great. I know that many MiniVap owners use a mesh basket placed into the bowl, and that seems to reduce the risk of small flakes dropping into the airway, etc. Mostly, though, I'd just love to see more video of anything to do with the thing!

No stirring required... I see above that macbill has mated his to a bong. I have a feeling things are about to get real. :D

Great to hear, how does your abv look? Nice and even colored? Also I know you said it's oven is a little smaller then the pax, but how much herb can it hold when maxed out??

Thanks for all the info! Feels great to be back on FC:rockon:

It looks darker in person. I vaped at 390 F for 3, 1-minute sessions. No stir. Sessions are 1 minute: this is what makes the battery last, I guess. Solo session is about 12 minutes?

After 1 1-minute session at 365 (for flavor). Solo and E-nano better

Above plus 1 1-minute session 390

Above plus 1 1-minute session at 410 (the highest setting). Total 3 1-minute sessions

Considering how high you got from a specific amount of weed, would you say that it was as efficient as your Solo?

Even though it had a one minute auto-shutoff, did you get the feeling that it was cooking your herbs as it was heating up, and when you were not hitting it within that minute.

The color of that ABV is really consistent. Nice.......

Edit: Also, did the vapor seem hot or harsh as can often times happen with portables?

The last bowl was w/o water filtration. I found it less harsh than a Solo or E-nano are at higher temps, but I find taste-wise, at first blush, I get better taste from E-nano and Solo at low temps, which is how I like to consume (mostly). I find if I vape at the highest setting with fresh material, it seems to me some scorching occurs and I cough more as opposed if I take the same material from low to high temp.

I didn't feel it was cooking the herb. There is a top removable portion which includes the mouthpiece. I perceived that the vapor was cooler because of passing through it, but it might be just because they call it a "cooling unit", and I Groked on that.

Since the above only represents 3 1-minute seshes, it stands to reason you could extract more. But I spend 12 minutes with a stem with the Solo, I may feel as if I'm more medicated, but since I've also had 8 more minutes to "feel the glee desend", that may be part of it.

Edit:
The sessions are one minute long, but it does not take much of a draw to lower the temp. So, if you draw while it is heating up, the minute has yet to start, so a person literally could "draw" a longer session by not allowing it to come to temp to start the timer. The unit vibrates when it reaches temp, and when sesh ends. I just did a fresh bowl set for 410, but I kept it at lower temps by inhaling a bit by bit. Yeah I'm going to like playing with this thing...

My MIGHTY just came in today. Uploading a video review of my first experience with it later on this thread. It's nice. A lot smaller than I imagined. I can easily slip it into my pocket. The only other portable vape I've ever owned was the Magic Flight Box. The fun lasted about 2 months with that thing and then I gave it up to my brother like yesterday's news. Then the Germans came along and engineered a spaceship. It's made in Germany by the way. Says it on the back. I really like what Storz-Bickel did here. My Volcano has been #1 for Rosemary Bush inhalation vaporization but I could see the Mighty easily replacing that, like now... It's convenient to just turn on. That's what I like about it. I feel like a true Rosmary Bush junkie now. Wait a minute or two, take one big hit, then turn it off. Rinse and Repeat every few hours. The Volcano brings out the inner "eat everything on your plate" child within me and I end up taking 10 hits off of 1 bag and getting way too stoned. I think I marred up the LCD screen though or I'm just an idiot. One thing I noticed upon unwrapping was that there were a bunch of micro thin scratches on the LCD front and if I gently touched the screen, it would bruise super easily. It looked like it there was some kind of protective film so I tried scraping it off but stopped here. Either that screen is super super sensitive and I just messed up a good thing or that's a piece of protective film that I'm not peeling off correctly. Mighty users, let me know - I already emailed Storz-Bickel about it. I love this thing. It makes me feel Snoop Dogg Jetson.

Here's a picture of the screen. Turned off. http://imgur.com/ubtPVl9,7hyZcfi

It's funny because I said earlier this has to be 4x better than the solo to justify the price. So this vapes in 3 minutes what the solo vapes in 12 minutes, (aka 4x more effecient) am I understanding this correctly?

I haven't tried that yet but I imagine it will work fine. I have half packed it without the pad. I was careful to keep it level so the herb didn't fall to one side of the bowl. It worked. :)
@elmomuzz; @futurebong - How would you rate/describe vapor volume production? Thanks!

If I were to rate it 1-10. 10 being the highest/best hit I've taken which for me is probably a fresh bag on a Volcano. I would put the Mighty at a 9 in vapor production. I was getting very long, solid hits earlier today. I am now insanely stoned and I have responsibilities hitting me in the face in 1 hour. I'm so high. This machine works. I'm just kinda pissed that I easily fucked up the LCD screen. Maybe mine is just crap but I would have expected something higher quality for $500. I hope I'm an idiot and it's suborn protective film
