The Cloud EVO Anticipation Thread

It's not looking promising.
If the latest firmware fails to rectify the issue I will probably cancel.
It's just taken far too long unfortunately considering it's been a year since you've released the product.

And half a year since they've released that failed intl round.
This is going to be long shot just like everytime with VXL.
Hopefuly no more sabotage is going to happen anymore and everything gets on track eventually.
As a Trade-In with a dead original Cloud the wait is the only acceptable option for me, so I've ordered a Solo.
For updating my Iolite as a portable and for backup if my EVO couldn't wait anymore as finally fails before the next round.

Ill check with Vapefiend and see if he is expecting another test unit.

Will report back asap.

Its a funny feeling...I am a pre-order and for the last year I have been "expecting" a large chunk of money coming out of my bank account for this, the paypal payment is pre authorised, so it can just be taken at any moment, kinda disconcerting in a way.

I always have in the back of my mind that I need to be careful with cash this month because the Evo might come out.

I wonder how much longer I will have this feeling?

Thank goodness i switched to a dabbing rig long ago and purely use bubble, i now occasionally read this thread and feel sorry for the guys hanging on, so disappointed in vapexhale as a company, I've spent a ton of cash and sit with paper-weights and think about what could have been.

What i really dont understand, and I may be missing something as I dont claim to be any sort of expert in the manufacturing of vaporizers, is why exactly Vapexhale are having so much trouble getting the units to work, even after this length of time. Other companies dont seem to have all these problems, take 7th Floor for example, they had a SSV running 24hrs a day for over 8 years and in all that time it never missed a beat but Vapexhale cant even get a unit running for a suitable amount of time to release it to the public....the whole situation just baffles me!

Well, you can't compare a 7th floor vape with an EVO.
There are no circuit boards, sensors etc in a 7th floor vape.
It's just a heater plugged into wall outlet through a dial.
You can't expect electronics failures where there are no electronics.

OK, fair point but i did quote that I wasnt claiming to be an expert in the field. There are still lots of of other companies that do have circuit boards and sensors etc in their vapes and they manage to get, and keep them running ok so although I may have used a bad example with a SSV my point is still valid and still stands.

Among my collection of vapes I have an EQ (which I believe does have circuit boards) and this has been working just fine for over 4 years and bear in mind costs less than half the price of an EVO!

In no way am I trying to hate on Vapexhale, Ive been willing them to get the units working and into retail so I can buy one for ages, all I was trying to say was that Im genuinely confused as to why they dont seem to be able to get the units working for any length of time.

Vapefiend not aware at the moment of being sent another unit and will update as soon as he hears anything different.

His unit is still working but still buggy!

After my fakexhale died, I found the switch back to the LSV very easy.

After hearing about the possibility of a LSV based portable coming from 7th floor - I'm strongly considering canceling my order.

LSV + möbius bubbler seems to be a pretty close price point to evo + hydratube.

I feel for you guys, but I still don't think these guys have it together after everything. There are a bunch of pages in the EVO thread about odours/smells coming out of the bottom seams which SM55 has acknowledged and said that drilling a hole could help vent better, but he's been silent on it since. I have an EVO in my possession that i'm borrowing and basically cannot use it inverted due to the horrible nasty burning smell (wire touching bamboo?) that begins within seconds. For a vaporizer that is supposed to be about glass and purity and isolation, i'm pretty disappointed, although many others do not experience this?

My Fakexhale doesn't have this issue, although I can actually see some wires perhaps touching the bamboo or close to it. It's been working very strong but after it goes, i'm done with VXL until they really get their product up to speed.

LSV based portable possibility? Where do I go to read more? lol

Hey everyone, it has been a long time since I've been on here for a formal update. We have indeed made some progress and are shipping additional units out for testing, including a new one for Vapefiend. We have had a longer testing process because we have had difficulty creating the same bug that he experienced. This is why we have decided to send additional units out for testing to see if this is an isolated incident or not.

As for the smells, we did come to a conclusion that the smells were non-toxic but @biohacker your unit definitely sounds like something is awry with your description. As always, we are happy to examine the issue and fix it for you.

We are a transparent company so if anyone wants a refund, all you have to do is email us and we are happy to oblige. For us, it is more important to make sure that no one's home burns down and although we are down to our last issue, we just cannot in good conscious release it until we can re-create and resolve this issue. As a company, the holiday season is very important for us and our investors so rest assured, we are being as aggressive as possible with our testing without being careless about the results.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone.

I don't think this unit is awry, when others are experiencing the exact same issue. Even though the odour is harmless, it definitely ruins the experience. Have there been any design changes or modifications to current units to prevent this gross odour when using the EVO inverted?

The reason I think yours is awry is because you said you smell something within seconds. Most people say they smell something faint after 30+ seconds. We are cleaning the insides of the cavity to prevent odor as we've found that many of these odors were sometimes caused by little pieces of material that unknowingly made their way in as we were finishing assembly.

It first takes about 30 seconds or so, and then it's within seconds anytime I invert it. Almost like a big time burning robot fart.

Happy to hear that it's been addressed, but with the slight spacing in the seams It makes me rethink how pure the air path really is.

Uhm non-toxic or not the vaporizer shouldn't be producing any other noticeable smells/flavors/vapors asides from the herb you're vaporizing :/

"many of these odors were sometimes caused by little pieces of material that unknowingly made their way in as we were finishing assembly."
How can you know for sure all of these "little pieces of material" are non-toxic?

One of your main selling points for the Vapexhale is 'purity'
but you just confirmed yourself that the vaporizing path is not pure, it is
in fact contaminated with 'little pieces of material', material is also a vague
description, that could literally mean anything.

Let's be honest guys, I think it's more realistic at this point that Vapexhale will have to release a new cloud, Cloud Evo Plus or whatever to make room for all these fixes and add new improvements because it's been so long (about a year now?). This is similar to what happened with the original cloud release that resulted in the Cloud Plus.

On a positive note my Cloud Plus has been going strong and I was one of the first people to own one in Australia. I haven't had any issues with it off-gassing any strange smells and it always provides fat tasty hits. I just feel really sorry for everyone who pre-ordered (this is why I never pre-order anything ever).

On the positive side: thanks for the detailed info update @stonemonkey55
and for me that I never had an cloud model, I am looking forward to recieving an improved Evo after I was / am able to test drive the first 220 evo.
I mean hey after all it is a great machine (function wise) considering it was configured based on assumptions on a power grid that they couldn't test directly :)

I honestly fail to see how this update is any different from the one given months ago.

Hello Seibo,

You mentioned that the Australian units have now been rectified. Do you have an approximate ETA when the Australian units will be delivered to Australia? Will they be shipped directly to the indiegogo funders or will they be sent to the Australian distributors?

Thanks,

Have you got some info the rest of us don't have?
When did they say Aussie units were good to go?

Edit:
Just saw the email containing that info - carry on, nothing to see here:doh:
