Are vape pens worth the buy?

So i've never smoked cigs or weed before. I have thought about smoking weed though, but I know that vaping would be a better alternative than smoking.. I posted on a different forum about buying a vape pen just for hash oil/recreational use, and about how i've never smoked before... well i got a lot of shit about that. apparently vaping is only for people who are trying to quit smoking, which is understandable, but are my reasons to get a vape pen understandable also or no? i had some guy claim that i was buying a vape pen to try to be cool and all of this bs... anyways.. i was also wondering if they're worth the buy. should i just buy some hash oil cartridge online or is it much more complicated than that? thanks

I am who I am and your approval isn't needed!
If your an adult... the decision to partake/use is entirely yours, and yours alone. The hell with what anyone else thinks or says.

As far as 'pen' use, and the concentrates used in them... I will simply 'suggest' that a better route may be to get a herb vaporizer and test your likes with 'that' medium, instead of jumping right into a concentrated form of its effects. Just a 'my own personal opinion'.

Whether you'd be satisfied with a generic or cheap pen is hard to say. There are many that are satisfied the the lesser expensive ones, and many others that found they were more satisfied with a name brand that openly provides the vapor path and build material information. Either ones have and are discussed here on FC and is there for the reading and learning to ask more specific questions that come up..

Best wishes in your decisions ;)

I honestly recommend that you try flowers before diving into the world of concentrates. And for flowers pens aren't an valid option yet.

concentrates tend to give new/low tolerance users extremely intense experiences which can make people completely shut the door on cannabis. It usually only takes one high that's too intense in the early days for most.

with that being said: divine tribe, and w9 tech are putting out some great products. I can personally vouch for divine tribe's products. I recommend that you get an atomizer with a non fiber wick (all ceramic donut is the best imo)

If you've never used marijuana before, you shouldn't be starting out with hash oil IMO.

This also means you shouldn't be starting out with a vape pen, since concentrate use is the only thing they're good for, generally.

I think a budget portable designed specifically for use with flowers (dry herb) would be best for you. Check out the Magic-Flight Launch Box, the Arizer Solo, and the Lotus Vaporizer to start. These are all solid performers in the $80-$130 range with strong track records for quality. Learning curve varies among the three.

:hmm:

What?? That's complete bullshit. I wasn't TRYING to quit smoking when I started vaporizing. I switched out of curiosity. Once I discovered how awesome my herb tasted by vaporizing and not smoking. I was hooked!

The medical benefits of fucking combustion were simply an added bonus to me

^^^^^^^Me too
I would go the Solo route first or maybe the Lotus route,
(I have never used a lotus yet.)
But the Solo for me and anyone I use it with is an easy adaption.
I love my MFLB but there is a learning curve.

Pretty sure he was on an ecig forum... they kinda frown at the association of the two 'drugs'

smokum,
Hell why not vaporize a speedball lol.

OP you definitely don't want to start with concentrates. They may be too strong and could turn you off camnabis permanently.

Given that our industry is a lot more illegal in a lot more places, I can't blame them.

Funny, vaping my flowers is really the only reason I stopped smoking cigs and began vaping my nicotine in a pen/mod. I stopped combusting weed a lot sooner than I stopped combusting nicotine. I have fucked combustion now almost completely.

The largest e-cig forum I'm on recently stopped their ban on all talk of herbal vaporizers. It used to be a big no-no, but since the two industries/technologies are so similar, it got too hard.

Smoke is smoke, as far as how it affects your throat and lungs, so it can work both ways. I quit cigs 10 years before I switched from smoking herb to vaping it, but in my case it was just that 10 years ago, cannabis vapes were little known and hardly advertised.

Would that be http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/ ? It's the largest e-cig forum and the only one I'm familiar with.
