Don't worry about the serial # .
It's just an ID for each Solo .
New version for sure .
We were told they're released randomly ,
and I don't think one vendor got All the M1E's or M1F's etc...

Enjoy your Solo
and tell your partner to put the Solo on charge for you . ( and test it )

How do I extract the oil from my stems using milk? Do I just boil the milk with the stem in it until all the oil has come off?

Simmer, rather than boil is how I've always done it.

However, remember it's not the milk but the fat that does it. Low Fat, Non Fat and the common types are out. You want butterfat and lots of it. Homogenized Whole or better. Diet tomorrow. A dash of cream (or my favorite 'half and half') can't hurt either.

Oh, yeah, don't forget the marshmallows.

Those are cool stems those wooden ones! These solo curved stock stems are really difference in sizes are unbelievable.Last night bought new one,it was so tight taking it out it broke,it wouldn't even budge left or right...so I told the lady where i got it and luckly they have had that before and they give me a new one!I was happy I was reinbursted. But this stem is so damn loose it kinda of wobbles a bit to,like it's rediculous.I pulled out my verneer calipers and checked the broken stem and my old one, there way off!!My 2 stock stems that came with the solo fit rather well little looser when warm but good!I'm going to put that o ring back in,I sanded a bit and I can close the lid tight!I'm wondering if putting in that oversized stem stretched anything in there like that top stock washer?it's super loose! lol.......just what I was feeling tonight about the fit.

Qaulity and control in the glass section hmmmm

Just wanted to say!

Thanks

hello, I am sitting here with two different ariser solos. both are mine now by some strange twist of fate. One is black and has serial number M1A etc, the other is silver and serial number MIG...can any one tell me the differences between the two?
I have had the M1A since summer '13, is the MIG a new version? tried to switch the caps, and it seems the black one is bigger because its cap won't fit on the silver one. thanks and happy vaping everyone

I believe there are 2 different cap sizes, someone else will definitely know more...

Yep there are two different sizes of top caps on the Solo, hence the whole "sand your o-ring down if it doesn't close all the way" bit we've discussed.

Old Solo: no use-and-charge system, smaller airflow holes

New Solo: use-and-charge with the regular charger, slightly bigger airflow holes

Serial number is specific to each Solo and not a definite way to determine models.

Thats the main reason im now looking into glass blowing, Joda glass is the only one ive seen do custom work but I have a few ideas of my own, I think it comes down to the skill of the glass blower, i can only assume that there is no automated machine that makes those stems more a bunch of people punching them out. Strange that 2 different stems were different sizes i would think there is a jig they use to get the stem just right. Its rather expensive an art form to get into, the glass torch alone can cost up to 2k for something i wont grow out off in a hurry and then there is the oxygen and propane costs, add a kiln and tools and im looking at 4k just to set up but that said once i do im sure it will be very rewarding and not just in the cash side of it either

One way to tell if it's the new version or not .

Is to plug it in to charge ,
while it's charging ( ie green light blinking )
try to set temp level by pressing the up arrow .
If it starts to heat up ( ie red heat light blinks )
Then you have the new Use and Charge version .

And if your M1A is the old version ,
no worries , that version ' Has ' a good proven track record .

While the New version had some ' teething problems '
ie weird dancing flashing lights out of sequence and not heating/charging
properly ... Arizer seems to have fixed those issues . We haven't heard much of
those complaints as of late .

Let us know what you find .

Guard against straight stem breakage due to rolling off table. Cable ties to the rescue!

@ataxian don't feel alone. I break my share of PVHES mouthpieces. Down to one, need to reorder. I will keep checking. They get the stems in at PV and sell out so quick. Very frustrating. They are a very popular product.

Yeah, kinda hard to imagine that after all this time and popularity PV still hasn't been able to figure out some way to keep up with demand.

For those who have tried the PVHES and Ed's TNT wood stem, is Ed's stem comparable? Does Ed's stem have better airflow than the stock four hole stem? Any help would be appreciated.

IMO Ed's mouthpieces are easier to draw from that the regular stock stems. I use the 3 inch WonG with mine as a mouthpiece when out and I have the Granadillo too for the Solo which I like. I prefer the WonG as a mouthpiece, I used it in my bubbler last night I was very satisfied. The Granadillo is a good mouthpiece too but I use the WonG more. I also like the WonG with my Ascent to use as a mouthpiece. Take a look at @Ed's TnT he does beautiful work.

I broke my bent stem after 2 years. New one came in three days off ebay, free shipping. Happy to have another one. Only broke one other straight stem, but repaired it; then lost it. Repaired my gong with plumbers tape. I don't break much, I just loose stuff. So far I have lost a straight stem, EQ balloon stem and EDs African blackwood stem(ouch).
