Well, I've had five nights now with my plain ol', unadorned, scientific Solo GonGs, and I am very pleased with their performance.

I have a 2014 Solo and was using it with a PNWT, and I have only the stock stems to compare these GonGs to.

So, I tried dry hitting through the GonGs, and comparing the ABV to the stock stem's, and I could not see any difference. I also tried just letting them roast for a full 12 minute session without any hits and the two bowls were, to my eyes, indistinguishable.

The slightly flared end makes for a slightly tighter "initial insertion experience" at first, but just angling it a bit gets you past that and then it slides right in like you've given it hours of foreplay. Generally, they fit the same as my stock stems.

I ended up with one at about 2.25", and the other two at about 2.75." Long and short? Short and medium? I dunno what you'd want to call it. I liked the extra stability of the shorter one, but I found I liked the longer GonG more simply because it was much easier to disengage the PNWT from it.

An extra half inch can make a real difference... ;)

I preferred the airflow of the basket screen GonG as opposed to the stock stem.

I tried using the Solo inverted and at an angle, but found that, like my stock stems, the GonGs would slide away from the Solo sorta awkwardly. I much prefer keeping the Solo right side up.

I found that when using it with the PNWT, I prefer to go up to level 6, rather than my old "dry at 5" routine.

So I don't have any real criticism to offer here. I received exactly what I was hoping for, and my Solo sessions have become much more enjoyable now with the light filtration. The GonGs really accentuate and enhance the Solo's ability to be one heck of an effective medical device. And stoner tool. :ko:

Just another happy customer here...

Spent my weekend completely dismantling upgrading and reassembling the shop. While it doesn't look like much, it was a fucking SHIT TON of work!!!

Before:

After:

Upgrades are as follows:

Painted all my ceramic tiles black so I can see my damned flame for once.

Installed that dope ass sign and wired it in to a switch.

Re-plumbed all of my fuel and oxygen lines and added splitters and plumbed my hand torch.

Installed my new fully adjustable torch mount (soooo much more working room).

Designed, built, and installed my fully adjustable hand torch stand.

Designed, built, and installed my new color rack.

And general rearranging, cleaning, and organizing of everything else.

......Added a new tool or 2 as well I think.

To keep my work evolving I must also keep my equipment evolving.

Some day I'll be able to buy a kiln that's bigger than a toaster oven. Lol

WOOT!! My package has arrived!

Long story short, I had a random (H)idea a few months back when @VaPeD&CoNfUsEd first introduced his carb'd nano stem design. I wanted to see a REALLY worked nano stem with tentacles emanating from the Nano's opening - there was no budget for this design.

It was a long painful wait for him to acquire the tools necessary to finish this order (his new hand torch!). However, I think the end result is fucking amazing.

Allow me to introduce
THE KRAKEN STEM!

I love it! Looks awesome with the nano on top, and sitting by itself. Heating up my Nano now for my first session with a carb'd stem!!

In addition to this stem, I also recently worked a trade with @VaPeD&CoNfUsEd for some glass. I opted for a Steamroller (with a standard 14mm female joint so I can use it with other vapes), and a carb'd 14mm female GonG. In addition to this, he also tossed in an unexpected extra 14mm GonG stem!

:rockon::tup: Thanks @VaPeD&CoNfUsEd !

Damn @VaPeD&CoNfUsEd your skills are really growing. Can you do spikes yet? I have been imagining a gong with spikes all over it ever since I saw this picture on IG. It is from a novice blower so I figured that it would be doable

what is up with that blue cheese you got?

Well I want a 14mm male carbed gong with blue cheese spikes all over it. And I was thinking it could have spikes around the end of the carb instead of having the little drippy end

I want to claim it right now before that color blows up
