The Mighty/Mighty+ by Storz & Bickel

@elmomuzz, thanks for the response and the video! It looks great.

Now time to decide crafty or mighty. Love the portability/size of the crafty, just wish it had led display and buttons. So odd to exclude them.... Although I have downloaded the crafty app and settings are amazing, the ability to change LED brightness, LED function, vibration settings, etc etc.

Although, I think I might wait for a comparison review (mighty vs crafty) from vape critic or someone on here to see if there is any performance difference and the actual session amount difference from a single charge. I'm just thinking that maybe the marginally bigger cooling unit on the mighty could mean cooler vapor perhaps :\

The solo is wonderful and has been my portable for over two years but it can not compare to the mighty. The mighty has a much less restricted air path while at the same time denser vapor. It actually gives a denser hit then the plenty while taking less effort but gives less of them because the bowl is smaller. Here is the quick and nasty...

How does the draw resistance compare to the solo?

Thanks for the video, looks like a quality product. The less restricted airflow looks great, something I wish the solo had. Are the batteries on this user replaceable in an easy way or is the case snapped together and might break the locking tabs if you try to open it?

Thanx @elmomuzz for the vid .

I'm still wondering about the air/vapor path .
On page 23 of the manual , it looks like a few plastic parts
assembled together to form the path ?
Does it travel thru any electronics ?

So it looks like the Mighty is the V2 of the Crafty ?
But with No usb , and has digital LED display , and is bigger ?
Kinda like their Digital cano and their Classic cano .

That just happened...
S&B has never been afraid of using plastic and aluminum in their products. I think the air travels in through the plastic intake into the aluminum heat exchanger and out through the plastic cooling chamber. I do not think the air travels over any electronics but have not taken it apart to see.

I feel the crafty is geared towards someone that wants a high tech yet discrete unit while the mighty is geared towards someone that desires no nonsense performance.

The batteries are not user replaceable but I'm betting they last for many many cycles. S&B has an excellent service center in California should service be required.

If you mean version 2, then no. It's not an upgrade. They're introducing both at the same time, marketed to two different buyer profiles, as elmo's opinion states.

Like several hundred? That would be the typical Lithium battery, and the question becomes, after a year or two (depending on how often it gets used) 'how much do I have to pay to get new bats and keep this vape running?'

I'm very interested based on the video and additional information provided. Would definitely like to find out more about the battery, including replacement cost. It sounds like the battery life is outstanding though. I'd also like to know more about load size and whether you can throw in a smaller amount. @elmomuzz it looks like you packed quite a bit into that bowl, how much would you say it was? I'd like to be able to use .1g or less if at all possible. If it requires .2g or more to work well, that's a drawback for me. The Firefly bowl size is pretty ideal IMO.

Regardless, this thing looks like an absolute beast of a portable. How does the auto shutoff work? Does it feel like it's mostly convection? So many questions!

@elmomuzz - thanks for the video. it looks like the temperature drops about 10°F during a toke, and the heat up rate is about 2°F to 3°F per second. hmmm ... interesting. i wonder if it has a current limiter on the batteries.

Keep in mind the battery was almost dead when I made the video. I didn't realize it was that low until I started recording.

This evening is my wife's 30 year high school reunion so I'll be offline until late tonight. I'll try to answer questions before I goto bed. I'm bringing it so I'll get some random opinions. The in depth video will have to wait until tomorrow or maybe someone else is on the ball and will make one before I do. :)

I'm so stoked that S&B are finally putting out new models, it's hard to expect anything less then awesome from such a influential company. And just when I thought I could make it through the holidays without giving into my VAS :bang: I can't wait to hear/see more reviews on this unit.

Noticed that the cost of an extra cooling unit is only ~$20 (both Mighty and Crafty) so if it gets gummed up having spares is definitely a valid option!

Just like Apple, S & B is not shy about pricing their products near or at the top of the market. And, like Apple, historically that has worked well for them. That is a model that many would like to emulate, but without "better" products it is very hard to do. You either need "better" products or customers who either don't get the difference, or don't care. With the former you can target the whole audience of customers and you will even get many who aren't "affluent". With the latter your clientele base shrinks quickly and eventually bad reviews eliminate you.

Still...even at $469.
Too much for me too, as is the cheaper Crafty (which I think I'd prefer).
You either need "better" products or customers who either don't get the difference
Or the perception of better.

"A few years ago, in a study by researchers from CalTech and Stanford, they found that if a person is told that he or she is tasting two different wines—and that one costs $5 and the other $45 when they are, in fact, the same wine—the part of the brain that experiences pleasure will become more active when the drinker thinks he or she is enjoying the more expensive vintage. Thus, the person will believe the more expensive wine is better quality due to it being more expensive." Higher Price, Better Product?

Or the perception of better.
Right, that's why I put "better" in quotes. Perception is way more important than reality. And that is true across the whole spectrum of "understanding" (there are those quotes again) whether it is Vapes or politics or computers or wine. And the more easily someone is convinced, the "better" (as in more likely to buy something, not more educated) consumer they are.

That is why advertising tends to try and target emotions, which are more easily manipulated than "knowledge"... <g>

Storz and Bickel deserve their good reputation in my opinion. I've owned a Volcano for well over ten years and it still performs flawlessly. Just bought a portable recently (the Firefly) so I'm not in the market at the moment for a new vape. Yet I read this thread as well as the Crafty one almost obsessively as I know this is probably a great new product.
Having said all of this now that I use a portable with a stainless steel, very easy to clean vapor path I'm not sure I want to go back to plastic...

I converted innacurately. Still...even at $469. :o
This is considerably higher than the street price for the plenty, I'm thinking if it sells well the plenty's days could be numbered. Pricewise it's right in minivap territory, this sounds about right to me.
