E-livi8 portable

This is just a fancy rebranding of the new version of the Flowermate right? It looks exactly the same as far as I can tell. Don't know about any chrome casing though.

No , it's got three unique preset temps.

A Sealed air path , air travel bypasses all electronics for a much cleaner vape. Should be on the market November 2014..

Bit steep
It's a different beast all together imo.

To me it looks like an exact copy except the cheap parts seems to have been replaced with expensive parts. I'm going to guess it is manufactured in China. Maybe??

I feel confident in saying that yes, it is.

No, it's not. Why would a 'different' design look just like the FM, down to the same mouthpiece, same 5 press power button, and 3 temp heater design? It's a rebrand, and I'm sure we'll see more of 'em.

Really big temp jump between settings 2 and 3 on this. :\ Big price jump from the FM too. $200?

And if the release date is November 2015 like he said then it really will be dated.....3 preset heat settings not worth the extra 50 quid. IMO that is.Still gonna get a flowermate when I have spare pennies

Aside from a different case material, I'm not sure anything else is different, parts wise.

And if the release date is November 2015 like he said ...
He said 2014 and I expect that's right. It wouldn't take another year for a vape with only a few slight changes. I'm thinking this is about ready to go to market. I'd like to see an FM owner compare the two but at nearly $200 it won't be me.

Shit Snacks

Milaana. Lana. LANA. LANAAAA! (TM2/TP80/BAK/FW9)
The video says the temp settings are
365
385
420
actually, which are much better than the current FlowerMate and Imag plus temps in my opinion (tho 420 may be a tad high for me).

It does seem like they took the FlowerMate, and upgraded the materials and airflow design (I do remember someone saying early in the FM thread that they wanted to make the airpath go through the bottom instead of the sides them self or something?)

That's nice to see somebody somewhere started to listen somehow! Finally a missing piece has fallen into place:

Now i'm really pleased to see hope emerging for those in need of an electric portable, at last. Interesting point: notice this silicone bridge (in red) disapears as the view flips around, in order to show even more it seems...

Now if we could see closer snapshots of the real deal!

Salutations AlexisSmith67,

...looks EXACTLY like my flowermate v5.0s?!

Considering the FlowerMate VaporMax was unkown not so long ago i have no preference for one source or another, what matters to me is materials and layout, something i had stopped asking about... At this point it's only translating as concurrence and this should help keep the tag-price down a bit, right?

Actually i'm even thinking if one product goes 1 step further by providing ample battery ventilation through casing holes while the adverse brand has improved material quality then why not mix them, LEGO style?! Since they'd have identical casings anyway...

Those are the aspects i'd have to focus on before i give it more serious thought:

Make it breath even more!!

The idea of sucking fresh-air through freshly grinded dry cannabis sounds appealing enough (provided it's not contaminated), but i'll need to replay the video later, relatively to the inlet's immediate vincinity (marked by a blue arrow). To be honest i'm hoping for nothing less than total decoupling of the two air volumes while extra ventilation might push such a "purist" quest even further...

Hi, this video is just a tester , a more complete version will be hopefully done next week.
The airflow path will be highlighted and described much better in the next one :)

Timely introductions of new products on the marketplace is the essence of marketing strategy. Even if it is retailed by November of this year, and not into the far future of 2015! the FM VIII may have replaced the
( now ) older 5s.

USA price approx $150 ..

Already got one. A Flowermate VaporMax 5s. At a good price point. My point? The Price.

These two factors above may well make this unit a hard hit to market. But we shall see.

Note. Early on the same company copied, and marketed a pipe along the lines of the VG.
Except, it used a metallic alloy! FeCrAlY foam filter heater which at higher temps gives off metallic fumes. So. Go figgure.

Salutations,

Thank you both for the attention. At the moment i'm focussing on this item:

3535xrl.jpg

Any reason(s) the fitting rim couldn't be raised higher above the surface?

39.gif

I guess i've become so paranoïd with those air paths over the years i'd probably offer to add teflon tape, to garantee close acquaintances of mine that there's no possible by-pass right behind the sliding door...

Since both products are physically identical i gather the prospect for some loose fitting would be equal, which brings me back to my previous post over punching more holes above the vertical crevice separating the batteries, to weaken the path for potential leaks around the rim even more.

Those are people dear to me so naturally i'd want to be able to assure them it's the very best! And now with the new Storz & Bickel portables around i need solid confidence because money wouldn't be their primary concern. So how tight a fit is that sitting rim exactly?...

Good day, have fun!

If you are speaking about the MP aperture, one difference I've noticed between the two is here.

The FM has a multiflanged retainer around the MP, where this unit seems to have a center flange in the middle of the aperture which also serves as the terminus of the vapor path, with 9 holes.:hmm:

I may be speaking thru my nose, however.

PS Another possible difference, a "variable airflow" port, instead of MP storage at the bottom?

Salutations Stark1,

If you are speaking about the MP aperture...

Well i waited to see if i'd figure how the misunderstanding occured but i still don't get it. My impression was that after many revisions the mouthpiece had been dealt with appropriately whatever the branding, so the top half seems OKay to me.

Another possible difference, a "variable airflow" port, instead of MP storage at the bottom?

That's the lower half i'm focussing on and my interpretation was that it's possible to choose the feature we prefer. Not to mention i'd actually go as far as keeping a couple buds in the MP enclosure at all times since i imagine a bit of cannabic scent would add up to inlet fresh-air...

:leaf:

My only regret is that all it takes to positively garantee a customer's lungs won't be used to ventilate this hardware happen to be a tiny silicone sealing ring, slipped around the rim (red arrow) at the base, provided the rim is high enough. That's all it's missing to render the path totally "obvious" IMO, perhaps with the option to add improved ventilation on the battery side (for "decoupling") as a bonus.

Personally i might stretch it and ask for a heat-insulating skin that can "breath" but that's a DeLuxe thing which can wait.

;)

Nonetheless, considering one company went forward presenting their offer via easy-to-grasp straightforward visual illustrations while the other felt adversarial at best (for weeks if not months) just for asking, well, i can tell you this would be a major aspect to consider the day i need to decide where my preference must go.

Honestly, as far as i'm concerned respectful discussions seem the only way for any manufacturer to make a good impression. So, videos meant to spare us a waste of time & effort over endless social content earns Paramout points in my book.

In the end, if there's sufficient information to support the claim that it's safe, clean and affordable then it would be my pleasure to start spread the good words at my own level - and i'm not even a "purist"...

Good day, have fun!!
