Ey yall vapers, been lurkin here for the past two weeks and soaking up knowledge, now its time to stop lurkin and join in the ranks! Hopefully with your advice I'll be a vapin too very soon

So ive been smoking for the past 5 years, with the last one escalating me up to 2oz per month users. So it stung, in my lungs, and now i thought about a come back like 2pac and mates ive decided its time to hit the vapes.

terrible rhyming aside(after a 6 month t-break im usually often getting drunk then not like now so thats that) ive been researching for the past week about vapes on FC forums and here reading up on VapeCritic as well, my previous experience with vaping has been a Gpen that I lost somewhere somehow when I was high and about monthly visits to vapour lounges around Toronto for the last two years, ive only ever tried the Volcano there, my friends shitty puffit, and the Gpen. Combustion wise Ive been on jays and spliffs most my time but upgraded to a big bong and a helix bubbler and some other glass a year ago which I still have with the helix being my daily driver.

Now for what I'm looking for in a vape, I basically decided to get both a portable for the go and a home use one, the reason for two units is I want one for seshing and one for hits, to explain on this I usually smoke 5-6 times during the day but one time either evening or at night is the main one which ill burn about lets say 50% of my daily load at and the other times I just buzz for gaming, being out, eating or some fuck, so I want one device for fast loads and quick hits and one for a nice long sesh, since I see most vapes differ there, it does NOT matter if its the portable or the desk that is the one hitter, vape quality is important, and I want one of em(again doesnt matter which) to be able to use with WPA so I can get some GonG going with my bubblers and bongs, budget of around 500$ for both, heres what ive gathered up so far so if people who have used these can give me some hints id be thankful :

PLENTY - I dont see much love for this on here and on FC but Vapecritic praises its quality, the heat up time is nice with 90 secs and the thing is durable and sturdy which is nice for a clumsy fuck like me, if I get this for the desk it wont leave much budget for the portable but im fine with that, I love the low cleaning maintenance on this fucker and the ease of use a lot, since I feel just getting started on vaping and getting into using glass as well might be a little bit hard of a learning curve, things that concern me about it is that even vapecritic says that it is less conservative with bud, but if im gonna be using it for my main sesh I can live with that, seeing as I will prolly use it to burn a .3-.4 sesh and be fucked for an hour chilling to Pac and Dre and NWA and have .6 for the solo hits of the portable which will make it around oz per month which im fine with, the portable Ive thought to get along with this is Lotus as its cheap enough to get with the rest of my mullah plus it can be used for some sexy ass GonG action with my helix and bong, im fine with butane use but if any of you know a better alternative to Lotus for maybe 100-150 butane or battery which can be used with a WPA too ill look into it.

The other combo I had in mind is switching the desk and portable around in the terms of WPA and one hitter/sesh unit, so I want the portable to be the sesh unit with being torn between Pax, Indica, and Solo, discration aint that high on my list so the Solo would be better with the mass circlejerk ive seen here and on FC(But hey circlejerks exist for a reason imo) and then for the solid desk unit I was thinking of the EVO cloud, since I have enough in my budget to go high grade like that if I get the solo, but ive been also considering getting either the SSV or E-Nano as ive seen em praised, thing is I DO NOT KNOW if the Cloud can work as a fast one hitter, I know the heat up time is 3 mins but is it for long seshes or no? Since if I get PAX or Solo that will be the one for Seshes seeing as I cant go one hitter with em without wasting bud in bowl which is 2nd main reason im switching to vaping, if the EVO is a one hitter, is it that much better than SSV or E-Nano? what puts me off about the Nano is the 10-20 min heat up time but I heard its strong and conservative, the SSV im not sure how it compares to that if anyone would tell me, if there are any other desktop one hitters that compete here please let me know, also I would like for someone whos had the Nano or the log type(except UD which I cant get in Canada) to tell me if Log + WPA accessories competes to the Plenty?

Thank you for your help, vape on

I have a suggestion but it depends on a couple things.
Is 2-5 minutes start up time too long (depends on what heat range)?
Is 2" x 7" too big? It is not pocket sized but fits easily in a backpack/ case.

I was looking at getting two vapes also but settled on the miniVAP as it combines desktop
quality with portable use (I didn't need stealth portable size).
It is price but super high quality.
Search for vapefeind youtube miniVAP as he does video reviews, has sampled virtually every vape and rates it very highly.
It is pricey but the taste and vapor quality and build quality are superb.
Battery charge last 2-3 hours so mobile sessions and home sessions are doable.

It fit my needs for home and away. It takes 5 seconds to remove top, pull wire basket with herbs, and put in my bubbler.
They also offer an accessory AC adapter to plug in but the battery life is so long, it's not really needed.
If it doesn't fit your needs--lots of other good ones out there

I love my Pax, VaporGenie combo. I feel the VG is a great one hitter, and surprisingly that is how I primarily use at home. I don't usually want a session at home, I want to be able to take single, quick hits here and there all night. The Pax is great to pack up and leave the house with. I don't need to bring my stash or a grinder or anything, just pack my Pax tight and make sure it has a charge and I am able to roast 20-30 hits out of it for the day. Probably not the most popular combo but I believe even if I get a plug in, desktop unit I would still use the VG all the time. It's quick. I can be cooking dinner or something at home and grab the VG and have a huge cloud in about 10 seconds.

sounds look like you want a firewood or mflb. they both give u access to quick 1 hits. having owned a solo, and currently owning a pax and haze, i would pick the haze over all of them.

the ssv/lsv are great mid level vapes imo. they offer strong hits with little downside. the price is nice also. lsv is the better choice if you plan on using it through a bong though. check out the daisy as a home option too. i have one on order and have been using my gn0me to practice for it's arrival and i'll be damned if i don't get massive and tasty rips from that style of device! the daisy and gn0me are both cheap too!

the solo is my portable vape of choice. but i use the firefly when i am in a hurry, as the solo has heat up time to consider.

I DO NOT KNOW if the Cloud can work as a fast one hitter

I probably wouldn't use a Cloud in that manner, but I'm sure some people do. If you leave it on while at home I guess you could just pop in for a quick hit and move on. Seems like a log vape would work better for that though.

what puts me off about the Nano is the 10-20 min heat up time

The Nano does not have a 10-20 min. heat up time. I always liked giving it 10 min. to warm up, but it's not necessary if you crank it to 10 for 2 minutes then to you desired temp for another 2.

also I would like for someone whos had the Nano or the log type(except UD which I cant get in Canada) to tell me if Log + WPA accessories competes to the Plenty?

I do not own a Plenty nor have I tried one. But a Nano through water is a fantastic choice. Reliable, can be left on all day, small company. And the best part is that it doesn't look utterly ridiculous. :2c:

Based on your situation and budget, I'd say a Nano / Solo combo would be the best way to get going. You'd even have some money leftover to get some of your favorite herbs...

Although, my favorite combo is Heat Island / Firefly. :D

I think that a log vape or a lsv/ssv would work well for your home usage. The dc powered logs and the ssv can be left on and ready to use 24/7 if you wish. I haven't used a cloud or evo though and I am sure it's an awesome big hitter that you would love if you don't mind the warm up time.

Portable- if stealth isn't a concern I would get the lotus. The lotus has a clean air path seperate from the butane, the taste is top notch, it hits really fast, and it hits HARD when you want it too. Seriously this thing can be a one hitter just like a desktop once you master it. The downside is that it's not very stealth for public use, has a slight learning curve, and can be difficult to use in bright sun until you get the hang of it. Seriously though it's an awesome vape, I have an SSV and an underdog but I haven't even heated either up all summer for daily sessions at the house. It's been pretty much all lotus, all summer, with just the standard dry stem. Sometimes it's the simple things in life I guess :D .

I just wanted to post and say the Solo is great for me, and you can definitely pair it with a WPA and hit it a few times, or hit it like once or twice dry and set the stem down for later- it heats up fast and has pretty good retention.

But also the Plenty is a fucking TANK. It was the first vape I ever tried, thickest vapor I've ever had to this day. Idk about pairing it with water, but I'm sure you could do it with awesome results.

Right now with the love im seeing for logs ill probably get an E NANO that seems to be so popular, I looked at the Daisy and I like the looks, I wasnt able to find much about gn0me but how do these two compare efficiency wise to the e-nano? Since ive heard that one is really efficient and thats why im considering it as a log.

Ive decided also to get the EVO alongside the log and have two home units, one EVO for my bedroom next to my bed for that mad rip seshes and the nano or if I find a better alternative log for my living room to use with guests and when im watching TV and just want to hit it up, prolly wont have a problem leaving it on

I probably wouldn't use a Cloud in that manner, but I'm sure some people do. If you leave it on while at home I guess you could just pop in for a quick hit and move on. Seems like a log vape would work better for that though.

You got me convinced on the Nano bro, I was on the edge with all the love and since I cant get Underdog here in Canada ive considered the Nano for main log, with Daisy and Gn0me being alternatives im researching into right now(would love some input if anyone has used em all), Firefly seems nice but ive decided to go with lotus as portable, i might get a PAX or Firefly later on.

Yea the Lotus for that price seems too good to pass onto, and im fine with butane, it seems durable and WPA attachments too. Im def getting one as soon as Im back in Toronto.

Now, im fine with dishing out 100 something for the Lotus and WPA attachment either directly from site or ebay, and I guess the log will end up being 200ish, now ima go full noob and ask some questions about water tools in general :

I have a helix bubbler and a bong, if I can get the Lotus with its WPA, will I be able to attach em to the bong? and is it gonna be effecient? Any other parts I need to purchase? Also how much will the EVO + HT cost? and can I use the HT from the EVO with the log or the lotus? If someone could point some general glass items that I could use with all of soon to be my arsenal I'd be thankful.

So with this setup ill have the lotus for the go and quick hits, an EVO right next to my bed for before sleep and wake n bake sesh, and a log chillin in my livin room on 24/7, daaaamn I can't wait for the life, prolly gonna grab an oz on the side with some wax to blast the first few days.

Any tips for maintenance? I was thinking of picking up a metal platter and some 99% ISO for cleanin and resin grabin, is that enough or what?

Everyone's gonna have a preference, but I honestly do vouch for the FlowerMate and have to say that the Volcano is still the holy grail of a daily-use desktop unit.

Don't take my word for it. Research em :)!

That new s&b mighty works both ways, maybe look into that as well.
You had me click that link so fast, didn't notice the thread yet!

My favorite desktop unit is the SSV, the rich hits are just magnificent- don't much care what wand/hc it has. As far as portables go, I'm gonna have to say the Solo; but for stealth the PNP takes it. I do like the Pax, but there's something about the conduction heating that never lets me heat the herb evenly.

Kind of expensive, but since I have 700 budget and one more month of vacation before I come back to TO I'll look into it, I was actually wondering if the MiniVap could replace the need for the port and plug-in, and now that that thing exists, with me being a regular at Vaper Central and VapeOnTheLake in TO just for the Volcano and having considered Plenty for a long time as another option, I can see it working out for me, plus I will be in Germany in three weeks so I can grab it there! If I dont use it before my flight back I wont have problems in the airport no?

Blowing 400-500 on this or the MiniVap for my first(I will keep a close eye on both this month to see how they compare, havent done much research on the Mini yet neither) might be a tad bit too much for my first vape as my fellow Torentonist poonman advised me, so I might start of with a cheaper vape, if I do choose this I think I'm 70% done with my starting lineup! Behold :

The initial choice is between the two best portables ive seen praised around, not having used either myself I could do with pointers as to start with the Arizer Solo or the Lotus Vaporizer.

I am completely fine with the extra learning curve of the Lotus, and the butane use does not set me off, rather I think its nostalgic to the years and years of hitting the bong the traditional way, also the major factor is that I can do the hit and run with Lotus but as I understand not with the solo? I would love for someone who has used both to give me some ideas as well, specially on cloud quality, efficiency and how well it works with glass.

Whichever one of these two I grab, I will smoke... eh I mean vape, one oz away with either piece to see how I like vaping, should take me about a month, and then we come to that sweet second piece of my arsenal, my very first desk and log, the one and only E-Nano, I have ordered a piece of 5"x5"x10" beautiful rosewood to send to Alan once I'm ready to have this unit, I'm already excited thinking how its gonna turn out!

Last but not least, going far in the future, but since I will still have 400ish left over from my initial budget, I shall keep that until I see the EVO + HT hit massdrop again, the Lotus/Solo + Nano shall keep me busy until then, and I could always get some new glass to go with them while I wait.

And now for this last month of wait I have before Im home and ready to make my first purchase, I will research and read on and educate myself here with you fine folk to see if there may be better options, its taken me 5-6 years of smoking to make this decision, but when I do make this change I want it to be perfect!

I vote for a log and Hammer.

The log is almost 100% gonna be my second vape and first portable, I'm holding the rosewood piece I picked from my uncles storage right now that's gonna be sent to Andy as soon as im back home.

I've read about the Hammer, the built in torch is certainly a plus to the Lotus, but I think the Lotus looks nicer, other than that I am unsure how they compare vape quality wise, why would you pick it on top of Lotus if I may ask?

Go with a Vapman and a Log like the nano or Underdog. A perfect combo for me.

The vapman to me is the ultimate in class and refinement of the available torch/butane powered vaporizers.

I for one don't care much for the lotus as a portable or even using it without a waterpiece(where its great), I find using it with the stem to be a less than mellow, laid back and enjoyable experience. Also found the taste to be on par with the solo which people rave about here all the time, tastes real good but I don't find all that special or outstanding myself.

In use The Hammer is pretty much a log in disguise I like it a lot, great vape.

Still right now my main drivers are the Underdog and Vapman along with the Daisy. I find they're 3 badass little pieces of wood. Anywho that's what I'm liking most right now.

Hope you find what you're looking for but sounds like you're on the right track starting with the E-Nano I know i have one of Andys EV-2s and it's pretty fricken awesome for sure.

I knew I couldnt be the only one who felt this way. I consider my hammer to be my butane powered log vape. The similarities are definitely there.

I second this. My go to vapes right now are my Underdog, Heat Island, and Hammer.

So for portable you guys would say the Hammer beats the Lotus as a butane? I've been looking at the Daisy and the Vapman too, from the looks the Vapman looks super stealthy as a vape, kinda like how small it is, but considering using a butane vape its gonna look like a crack pipe anyhow Im not gonna get to use it like a Pax, the Hammer looks a little bigger but if it gives better clouds and taste and general vapor quality I would take it over the Lotus or the Vapman.

As for the Daisy, I wouldn't want to take that thing around, would it beat the Nano's efficiency? I doubt I will need it if I do get the Nano for plug in and have a Hammer/Vapman/Lotus for the go. Dammit so many vapes to try! I guess its a blessing and a curse :p

EDIT : Maybe I should add the Glasses I currently have, just wondering if anyone knows how these will work with the Nano/Lotus/Hammer and what attachments I will need to buy to get them working together if any?
