And while I'm at it; Magic Flight; will I voild the warranty on my new LB if I remove the push back ring? At the moment, it takes me 2 hands to use the LB with a battery, and that's troublesome. Can't use it at all one handed.

You can remove the pushback ring, it won't void your warranty. That way you won't need to push the battery to make contact. Feel free to remove the ring (see the vaporpedia entry for the box for tips).

Apologies if this has been discussed, but I couldn't see the answer.

When the power adapter is being used, does one have to hold it in lik you have to hold in the battery (on the new models with the push back ring)? Reason I ask is that I find the new MFLB almost impossible t use because or arthritis and it is very difficult to hold the battery in for use.

@JDSupreme. Thanks for making the video showing the power adapter. It's really impressive the clouds that you blew.

Tom

You can plug it in and forget about and it is ok. Their is a little button that you press when you want to activate it with your thumb. Where the end of the battery would be.

Ive tried it in two generations of LB's, one with and one without the kickback and they both work great. Pressing the button is not difficult and works great.

Can I buy MF stock?

Thanks for the offer :) but at the moment we have no plans in place for that -- perhaps sometime next year.

So glad you guys covered EVERY angle with this adapter and didn't rush it out with all the demand for it.

We do our best to learn from the great examples our community currently has to offer and we respond to that greatness by continually striving to be a good example ourselves within that community.

So whats next? A Magic Flight Battery Infused Fanny Power Pack ... that runs on solar power?

Ironic that you mention this -- we have considered plans in this direction too. Nothing near term, but there are other projects in the works. Someday, on the long horizon, we hope to create thorium powered fuel cells to have your vape run great forever on a single charge! (Note: this is only partially a joke -- there is real technology for this sort of thing, but it is currently way beyond our present capabilities and resources. Yet, it is always good to strive).

Will the adapter work on a 70watt single power inverter for my truck?

Yes, it should. The external converter is rated to draw 0.5 amp max, (which comes to 60 watts in the worst case). Typical usage would be closer to 30 watts. However, if you were to use the auto adapter instead of the wall unit, the total transfer efficiency would be higher -- ie, only 24 watts consumed in the worst case and closer to 18 for typical usage. We expect to be able to start shipping the auto charger adapter component very soon.

Remember to have fun!

PS: We are especially proud of our current power factor ratings. The Launch Box is easily (by a factor of 5X or more) the most energy efficient vaporizer on the market -- and probably in the world. Our embodied carbon emissions are also very very low when compared to all other products in this category. We love green tech!

oh that is awesome. thanks for sharing that....also great 2nd video JDsupreme...i don't think i have batteries in stock right now that makes the light go that bright...although I'm more of a lower temp person but nice to know its capable

i am so loving the temp control as with my old vape (cannon) I was able to dial it down for use with chamomile which has a lower vaping temp but I didn't use it in this box yet since it seemed optimized for higher vaping temps of the green....so when I get the adapter I'm excited to vape the lower temp herbs to see how it goes

thanks all!

I have had my launch box for a while now & am a daily user. After reading the forums a while i emailed them about the power adapter they said i could join this community to get in on beta testing the adapter. Anyways just wanted to say hi to all on the MFLB area & look forward to getting a power adapter for my LB.

Hi guys,

I just thought I should share my experiences after a couple of weeks with the MFLB.

First of all I quit smoking from day one! That alone puts MFLB up there with the few life changing gadgets I have acquired during my life.... Much more energy for everyday activities, less time spend on a couch and much better mood all day long. And of course I should note the explosion of tastes in my mouth after 3-4 days without smoking. Everything tastes better and when I ask for the turning joint every now and then from my friends, I am welcomed with the worst taste ever felt in my mouth. Even worst than the first smoke!!! Smoke feels now like a big stain of pooh on my tongue!
I have also purchased some Energizers 2450mah and the box runs so hot now that by taking many small sips with hot vapor I can produce clouds comparable to smoking. Of course that's just lost vapor but I guess most of the THC from the cloud should be absorbed in a couple of seconds and the cloud exhaled is just vapor with not much substance in it... What do u think?

I was ready to purchase a Maha charger this week but I guess I will be ordering the MF adapter when it comes out instead... May I suggest that you use thinner cables for the adapter if technically possible? Thinner, softer cables are always more practical and manageable... I am saying that just from the photos. The real cables could be a joy to handle...

All in all, expect some more customers from Greece as I evangelize for the MFLB and thank u for this great product MF!!!

Thanks for the vids JD!!

Okay... I have had my power adapter for a few days. It works REALLY well!! The dial control is a nice touch though I don't need it dialed all the way up it's nice to know I can lol.

Hits like a fresh battery every time! That part is beyond fantastic!!

I would 2nd the suggestion of rubber feet for the wood block or even a non-skid bit glued to the bottom. The block wants to scoot off of my desk. My temporary solution, I put the block inside a slightly open drawer so it cannot fall.

Regarding the suggestion of thinner cord. I would not 2nd this suggestion. I know the power adapter cords will give up after heavy use and with this design if that happened I'd just need to replace the wall wart portion. The thicker cord on the other end I feel would hold up much better and that part would not be easy to replace on the user end so... I think the thicker cord there is warranted.

All in all I'm tickled I got the beta unit of this and I've been looking forward to this for a long time.

Thanks to MF for the great addition and attention to being green as well :D

Happy camper here!!

Can't wait to hear about the fancy wood offerings either. I have 3 LB's but I could be tempted into another :p

Ever since speaking with you (MagicFlight)I coold not remember the fricken fuel, "create thorium powered fuel cells " love to watch this happen for you.

Flyer,

elmomuzz

That just happened...
The cord from the wood block to the dummy battery will need to be a thick gauge because of the high current flowing through it. Using silicone insulated wire would keep it nice and flexible.

Agree. The cord is a perfectly durable thickness.

I tried the PAMFLB in the truck with the 70 watt power inverter....worked perfectly!

I too will be in line for a custom wood LB!!! I can semi-justify buying one of these rather than a normal backup box

I cant wait til more people get theirs this thread is going to explode with power flipping over how awesome it is!

no joke man! i've been lurking on this thread for a little while now, but i just had so say something about this adaptor. i don't own the adaptor myself, but i've had a chance to try it out, and it is excellent! i've always loved my LB, but the adapter seriously takes it to a whole new level. i got huge clouds with it, and i love how you can adjust the heat; it makes it pretty easy to control how fast or slow you go through a trench. it's a totally legit little gadget if you ask me. :)

I was thinking today and I think the launch box can be taken as an "inhaler", you could just say that it has eucalyptus in it and it is a more natural inhaler to help sooth your lungs. what do you guys think?

Sounds like a good idea to me. I have Asthma, and I have already referred to my LB as an inhaler. :)

Vicki,
Hey guys. THis is my first post, I just got the MFLB in the mail. Two questions.

1. I have a hard time figuring out when the herb is done. I know it says it should be entirely brown, but I wanted to make sure. Can the herb catch on fire? Should you just hit it until there is no more vapor left?

2. What is the best grinder for this? The one is came with doesn't break up the bud well enougj

thanks!

The taste will drop off and it should be uniform brown. you may get some black spots with new box and batts. you can go to black or further but it tastes like ass

A lot of people like a coffee grinder (walmart $20) I have one but use a 2 piece primarily. the 4 piece ones dont grind it fine enough. 2 piece and coffee grinder can go to real fine which is what you need. the one that comes with it works ok but is tiny.

Hey JDS (or any of you adapter heads) are there any remaining benefits to daily driving the wood vapes now that you have the adapter? With the temp control and the efficient bowl size it seems like it would rock at daily driving now

I hate hitting the box with a half powered batt, makes my high sad :(
