Lower part of Australia is getting it's first few warm days in a few months! No other real changes though.. Apart from the fact that my bonsai tree sprouted it's first little green leaves earlier this week :) It's been a creepy rotten husk for a few months now but appears to be springing back to life!

Yes. I adore the autumn out here in Appalachia. My favorite time of year…

A drive down the Blue Ridge Parkway in the Autumn is bucket list worthy, IMO.

My old stomping grounds :-) The BRP is an amazing drive especially on the back of a yellow Harley in total zen with the road, wind and bike - beautiful!

As some of you know, I live in Wales. So I consider myself very fortunate to live in a country with four seasons - including autumn - or fall as you guys over the pond like to call it.... :) It's just a pity that all 4 of those seasons are typically characterised by rain here - it just falls at different temperatures!!! :D

@Seren ! I have a dear love in Wales near Snowdonia! He is in mountain rescue and took me hiking a bit during my visit last summer just before the leaves turned. Such a beautiful land!!!!

I adore Autumn - it is my favorite season! this is my first fall in the coastal low country so it will be an interesting difference from North Carolina. Already, i am discovering that October is best time for the beach :)

North Wales is beautifully rugged & soulful @Dawntreader  - I just love it there. There's nothing like standing aloft Snowdon or Cadair Idris to put things in perspective. But West Wales is probably my favourite. I'm not sure if you've visited, but it has a totally different vibe and landscape - it's so lush & green. There's an ancient, magic feel to it - I'm drawn there often. :) :peace:

@Seren : Haunting is another word that describes my experience and photos of my visit :) If the heather could talk, i would be in trouble ;)

I also enjoyed Amesbury, Glastonbury, and Avebury in south England. I will be returning there within the year for a visit with my friends from Cholchester :) Very magical and powerful with Divine feminine energy!

I  Stonehenge, Glastonbury & the Avebury stones too. I used to visit Avebury every few months when I lived in England - it's been a while since I visited last though. I visit Glastonbury and the Henge at least once a year - as you say, such amazing vibes there - and so many interesting people to meet. There are quite a few standing stones and burial chamber sites dotted around Wales too - I've been to most, but not all.

And speaking of Fall...today is the most perfect day and when i finish with work, i am playing outside which typically involves a bikini and hula hoops in my neck of the woods :)

Fall is my favorite time of the year. I am originally from a Michigan but live outside of Chicago now (so pretty much the same).

Nothing like throwing in some jeans and a hoodie and hitting the cider mill on a cool sunny day!

My only issue is sometimes it just seems too short before old man winter comes around. Hoping for a better one than last year. That sucked!

From the last bike ride of the year a few weeks ago, we had a windstorm about a week later and all the leaves were blown down. We get a pretty short fall in these parts. The lower zoomed pic is of cameraphone quality but it does feature denali the tallest mountain in north america, which is actually in both pics.

All you need is some Bob Dylan playing in the background and you'd be in heaven...

:) Thanks
Here's a pic of the trail itself, it's groomed for skiing in winter:

Earlier last summer I had a magical picture-perfect day, where I was truly communing with a mating pair of loons for a few minutes of back and forth. I guess they didn't know I was a human because when I stepped out from the trees it became quiet and they swam away! I've never heard the cry of a solitary loon before, it's beautiful and quite mournful.
