When you say "won't open up" do you mean "won't turn on" or do you mean you literally can't open the box (meaning, can't move the slider)? If it won't turn on, I'd agree you need to contact the retailer.
I meant to say ''turn on''. Sorry for the mistake!

Looks like the FM overstock is yesterday's pipe dream; it is no longer listed @ AVD:

"Oops! No Products Found....."

That, my friends, was quite a Max deal! Even if their comm protocol was minimal, almost nonexistent.

Anyway, Thanks to AVD, & Max! I now have a dual purpose tool:

A vaporizer, and a good hand warmer! for those biting bike rides in the bliss of winter.

High, ho? Vapor, away!

Look Ma! No screen and I also drilled all the holes in the mouthpiece. It made a huge difference.just a bit of metal left to keep huge bits out of it. Now my hits have more vapor....not to exhale, but to hold. It is a much more pleasant experience and it was already great. I may just drill the hole thing out..

How often do you recharge your Vapormax? I just got the adjustable version about a week ago. I only use it 2-3 times per week. So far, I've been recharging before each use (assume vaping about 0.1 to 0.15g per use), but if the charge easily lasts longer than that, given that most rechargeable batteries do better if fully (or almost fully) discharged before recharging, then I'd prefer to charge it less often -- I just don't want it to go dead in the middle of a session!

After about 10 sessions! Go for it! Amazing battery life! Adjustable three way..

Dude, Fellow hiker, where did you order your Warshington adjustable? They supposedly test new products across the pond first before marketing them to us.....

Me want. Please.

Whoops! NVM. Just realized what you meant by "adjustable", thought it was the full spectrum "adjustable" qNEW VIII. Ah, well. Bummer.

Good thing you are a gardener, Jeff. Just joking.

Particulates in your lungs can be a health hazard, down the line. Take care. A filter might have been a good idea, as an afterthought.

I've had the v5.0 for about a week. I really like it.
Pros: hits hard and thoroughly medicates, super stealth (I carry it around with a full bowl and vape when I'm out noone ever knows), good battery (10 sessions about), the unit gets very warm but it'll be love in the winter
Cons: when using small amounts you have to occasionally pack it down with the included tool, but it doesn't fit in the unit so it won't be long till I lose it. Also the screen on the mouthpiece gets clogged and you have to brush it off during usage, I also had very sticky bud tho which might have made it worse.

Definitely worth the buy. Too bad avd is out. A couple questions. This glass mouthpiece is going to be a bitch to clean! Any advice? Also I'm thinking of swapping the removable screen with a standard brass screen. Anyone know if that's gunna give me cancer or anything? Lastly, anyone have any good solution for not losing the cleaning tools?
Happy Vaping

Finally removed all of my screens in the mouthpiece. The tiny bit of residue that gets in the mouth piece really isn't much of a bother. It is easy to clean by soaking in alcohol and then swabbing with a pipecan you enter.

Sticky bud never stopped a Soloist, why a problem here? What is important is that the ABV is always consistently dark brownwhen you finish a session with the flowermate whether it's the one speed or three speed. Either is a terrific buy.

Hi guys, first post here, been lurking for a little bit. Just bought the V5.0s from Vnice on Alibaba after reading everyone's input and thoughts. First vape of my own, so looking forward to it!

Only one screen in the mp. I take it that you drilled out the restrictor plate. Glad you're only getting "a tiny bit of residue", but with no screen or plate, and dry herb, most users would get quite a bit more than that through the mp. I would recommend a standard ss screen at least.

I'd say that's accurate if you got the AVD special, but I've seen the V5.0 selling for $150 and personally, I wouldn't pay that much. At that price I consider the DaVinci (w/2 yr. warranty), for one, to be a better value. We'll see what AVD prices these at when they get 'em back in stock.

Welcome to FC. You probably got a decent shipping charge, to NZ. I think you'll like it.

I tend to charge mine after 6 or 7 sessions each session being 15 to 20 mins usually 5 mins blue 10 on purple and 5 purple/red to finish off.

I did ask for a quote on the viii but heard nothing back I'll try again. They seem to be based in Amsterdam.

Yeah, it gets that way pretty quick too. It's the nature of the design (been dealing with it on my DV for years), plus the included screens clog more easily than standard pipe screens. I have a feeling I'll be substituting a regular ss screen before long.

This glass mouthpiece is going to be a bitch to clean! Any advice?
I'd use the brush that comes with the unit, plus ISO. It fits and should clean it easily.

Anyone notice that the light you see inside the chamber doesn't go off when the vape times out and shuts down? Can't say I'm pleased with that.

The light is pointless as it is. The light not going out on time out is bit wonky I'm guessing the LED gives off low heat?

Yes, sorry. Drilled the restrictor plate and made all of the holes much bigger.
If people are getting lots of stuff through their stems, it is because they are either grinding too fine or are sucking too hard....or both.

Again, IMHo, screen is not needed and the restrictor plate isn't either. Before I drilled, I used a glass "one hitter" to emulate the way the solo works. Put it into the ceramic bowl. It was fantastic. This is why I had the guts to do the extra drilling!

The glass one hitter worked terrific using an o ring to hold it and seal off the opening.

Cheers,

I just ordered a set of 8mm screens from here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/351141481582?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT There weren't many to choose from in this size. These are domed titanium screens that I'm hoping will be easier to draw through as well as clean.

Regarding the LED, I like it! I vape outside in the dark sometimes and the light helps with loading. Plus dim LEDs like that draw hardly any current, so they should have little effect on battery life.

It's great idea on the single temp one but as the variable one heats at the same time the weed smokes before I can load it

No. But I do think my grind is a little too fine, since particles quickly stick to the screen it comes with.
Big particles or little, they're gonna stick - no way around that. Bigger ones will be definitely be easier to clean off. It's the small ones that'll make you get out the ISO to avoid major clogging. I think keeping the brush, instead of the mouthpiece, in the storage compartment, might be a good idea.
