Hyman Quartz is where most of the cheaper quartz nails come from.
Most of their AliEx items are wholesale only but this listing seems to be for a single nail.
I've never purchased from them, however.

edit: its only cheap shipped to Australia... shipping to US makes it highway robbery... one of the very few times it works to our benefit down here. :D

@LongIslandmom, so very glad to hear that you are clear. :clap: I know how terrifying an experience this can be, and the stress of it all can leave one in shambles. But now you are healing, let time and patience be your friends.

And I think you'll do better with your questions in this thread, a lot more glass specific info. Just keep in mind the very wide variety of vapes/users represented here - while some generalities apply to many vapes, there are also characteristics that may work fine with some vapes but less so with others. Not to speak of just plain personal preference one user to the next.

Revisiting a few previous posts . . . the "Atomic" piece posted yesterday by @PoopMachine on the EVO thread might be representative of a good candidate for you. The price is right, the circ looks sufficient for moisturizing, the volume is modest, and apparently the action is very smooth. It's actually somewhat similar to VXL's HydraFoot 2.0 (not currently offered) which I have, and it does a good job (but costs $100 more). Pieces like this sometimes have just a little bit of drag at the beginning of the hit when the water is initially displaced, but IME that is negligible.

How well the piece moisturizes is only going to get you so far; the other characteristics are factors, too. A medium-to-large volume piece requires more work from the muscles at the back of your pharynx and your larynx. Smooth action will feel more relaxed as you inhale. And of course your technique needs to match up with the piece, too.

About the water temp . . . I don't suppose you could ask your doctor? Hot water could be irritating to delicate tissues. And while warm water holds more moisture, it also opens the pores more in your throat and bronchi. A member here who had pulmonary issues asked his specialist about this and IIRC was told that it could increase the chance/severity of infection (due to increased tissue absorption). IMO it comes down to what your particular condition dictates, and only you (and your doc) can evaluate that.

EDIT: I see on the EVO thread that @JAM has found a DHgate duplicate (or so it appears) for less than $40. Might be the Chinese version? Anyway, here's that post:

Damn I have read so many bad reviews for clean and clear glass lately. They have been sending people defective pipes left and right. They also seem to be stubborn about making things right. I was very displeased to hear how they handled things with @Frederick McGuire. It really bothers me because they have some interesting stuff that comes up sometimes but I can't order from them in good faith knowing that they might send me some bullshit and then tell me that everything is fine and I'm the one with a problem

Crap, that's a bummer. Thanks for the heads up and jumping in on a piece with borrowed pics. That's part the gamble...and sometimes it doesn't shake out.

Mine has yet to ship...but I don't do 18mm male, and don't want to buy another nail...think I'm gonna cancel and get that Kathy fab egg...

I really want one of these dabuccino rigs but i'm not feeling the build quality of the Chinese made ones. The downstem looks like a straight tube with no percs from what I can tell, and the end of the straw is lower than the nail and probably an inch away. I can foresee that little thing being very hard to use.

Just picked up my yingman gb228 from the post office,made it from China to the east coast in 8 days.No box,but a ton of bubble wrap and tape.After 15 minutes of unwrapping it arrived in perfect condition.Gonna give her a run tonight and see how it compares to the D020

I was looking for your input my friend. FC members from everywhere have been posting, looking investigating; it was humbling too say the least. I am so proud that this many members want to help

Talk to me more about muscle use. This has been said too me a few times. Some of the pieces are large and the evo itself is big. I do have to change how I inhale. I must change the temp of the evo itself; I had it to high. A long time ago when I saw this doctor and vaping just wasn't happening yet he said to use ice cold water. I have been very honest with this dr because if he doesn't know the truth then how can he help me. I have destroyed patient dr confidentiality by sharing with all of you. But I don't care about that because it's already decriminalized in NY and ENT he's seen it all. Last time we saw it each other pre surgery he said he wanted me to quit completely and like a baby I started to cry. But honestly what is he going to say; yeah go vape your head off?
So I have to apply many methods as you so correctly point out. Right now I want to focus on muscle use; I see him tomorrow
and have a feeling he is going to want me to continue voice rest. It doesn't sound good. I may also get the recommendation of voice therapy and exercises - gee that should be fun.

So anyone who wants to add to muscle use chime in.

That was an awesome post chocked full of info thx. I am weeks away from doing anything. But when I do I am giving all of the shout out.

Wow sorry but fuck that guy. I despise people who do shady things like that with pricing and shipping. Good deal for you guys if you're getting it for $18 shipped somehow. Perhaps ya'll could inquire about a bulk order with combined shipping and re-sell them to us for more. ;)

I'm in pretty good contact with the guy from egeneration so maybe I can get him to make me a few bangers as a special order/request. I'm pissed I can't find these anywhere now for a reasonable price yet they were everywhere before ordering my D020.

Any chance you could take a pic? Was considering ordering one and none of those differences are total dealbreakers to me assuming it still looks decent.

I just dug deep and did my water temp comparison, back to back :) I sometimes do room temp water in my Mobius and sometimes hot water.
As I thought. back to back, the hot water bubbler makes for much much much "easier on the throat and lungs" vapor.

Why is that? Hot water moisturizes the air/vapor much more than room temp water does. Air/vapor that is too hot and/or too dry irritates the throat. FOR VAPOR , heat is not the main issue, it is the DRY DRY vapor. Hot water moisturizes it much better. For COMBUSTED herbs, HEAT is the main issue to so big arse bongs with huge volume , cool water, and even ice are great, but not needed for vaping.

I just did back to back. With room temp water, it's like a neutral/zero rating that vapor does not irritate the throat at all. With hot water, I'd rate a plus + 2. that it actually feels good/ like it is helping any dry throat issues. Just take a hit thru the water piece with microwaved hot water (with no herb). It's like a moisture bath for your throat / feels good. Not boiling but very hot.

Flame suit on, but try it before you input......

LI Mom, get a nice inexpensive bubbler and fine tune your technique (VapeXHale temp, water temp, bowl packed correctly, etc) and your BFF's will be waked and baked to perfection...... gair ant teed.......

Ok so I am going try hot water to moisturizer and keep dryness down. It makes sense that's why people drink warm teA. I gotta bring my temp down as well, I gotta resist filling the bowl so much. I gotta practice using my throat muscles correctly. My target date is either Nov 4 or Nov 7. I want to have test this out once before I see the girls. My tolerance better be way down. If I wait till the 7th that more than 2 months. I may have started throat breathing therapy by then.

Seems like CCG needs to be scratched off the list. I still don't know how they have 100% positive feedback. I tried leaving feedback (they sent me the wrong color after I was promised by 2 different CCG people I would get clear) but I guess my negative feedback never went through. I didn't file a dispute because it was just the wrong color but the piece is long gone now because I'm not a huge fan of pink lol.

I ordered the barrel to funnel from Steven (just missed the discount, ordered it a few days ago, oh well) and I was going to order the dabuccino rig from him too, but like @Frederick McGuire posted it has the Roor logo and I didn't want that. The lion would have been fine but not Roor.

I ordered the dabuccino rig from CCG instead. I sure hope it is like their pictures because if it is it should be okay but if not I'm definitely going to leave negative feedback and possibly file a dispute if it is complete crap.

Don't expect anything better than a basic straight downstem and you probably won't be disappointed.


CCG responded to my message explaining how I wasn't happy about the misleading pictures.

I wouldn't suggest people totally knock him off your list but be cautious as stated. My first and only order with him went as smooth possible. Ordered on 9/24, shipped out on the 25th, and received on the 2nd (I would've had it on the 1st but I missed the delivery).

I also got the dabuccino rig for $21. This was his original price he quoted me so it just shows you how cheap these pieces really are.. For anyone who had a really bad order, I would suggest you ask for a generous partial refund

Thanks for the confirmation @Aaron. That makes me feel a little better and I'm glad it won't have just a single hole downstem. Kind of sucks I spent $40 but if it is good quality and looks like the pic I have no problem paying $40. That's way better than $700 for the real one :rockon::tup::clap:

And I just wanted to bring up hempgarage.com based out of Canada incase others missed the old posts about it. They have a lot of items around $50. I know they would be cheaper from China but I still think $50 is really cheap!

I bought their starbud frap 14mm bubbler and it is great quality. Same as the GravLabs cup but it is only $50 instead of $150! I use it almost everyday with my lotus. The 4 hole perc pairs amazing with it.
