Yea ur telling me the .093 was stiff as hell. When I picked up the package I thought it was my 12, 12x12 10micron SSS it was so heavy.

Anyway, I'll have some fine sour d to play with very shortly. I'm a little hesitant to do a full run on these ptfe sheets n bowl/dish. I'll prob wash a couple grams to see what it looks like after evap. Also I'm tempted to try a QWISO run. Hmmmm what to do :hmm:

Raging success with the LWET (Long Wash Ethanol) experiment. 1.5 hour frozen wash frozen filtration, 5 - 6 40 second shakes. Ran about 1.3g of nice 3/4 melt bubble hash. Got just shy of 1g of super clear, almost transparent faint yellow absolute shatter. Extremely difficult to manipulate, shards fly everywhere when you touch it. It looks like meth, save for the faint yellow colour!

It is a completely out of this world head high, the best I've experienced yet! I am winterizing EVERYTHING I dab from now on. It is amazing! Pics to come!

the only point in which lwet is a problem using pre refine keif or bubble is if you leave it in the solution long enough for the actives to be oxidized by the water content. which is quite a while if the solution is strong. I have left material long enough to turn it red due to quantity and oxidization level. very good couch locked effects.

so how should u wash keif? what tek?

so im in the middle of my first qwiso( two 15-20sec wash). im not goin through the whole process. i did want to comment on the ptfe plates tho. personally, not a fan. idk if its because i did a small 3 gram run. i strained through my screens into the ptfe plates and then evaped. i found no possible way of getting it off the plate because it was such a thin layer of concentrate. so i just poured a bit more iso in the plates to wash out and re-filtered through my 10 micron. i combined the two washes into some slick sheet now im evaping again. the only practical use for those plates for me is that it perfectly hold my 10 micron 6x6 screen. so id strain into the plate and pour from the plate(has nice spout) into a ptfe pad (coming up) or sheet lined something.

i received my order from cshyde. i ordered all 12x12, thicknesses were .001", .002", .003", .004"', and .005". this was the spectrum i was looking for. to clear up the measurements confusion for the cshyde they are infact in the thousandths. comparing to slick sheet id say slick sheets thickness is around .003". the .005" isnt quite a 'pad' yet. but it is definitely the closest so far, we are definitely getting closer! next to try are going to be from eplastics.com and the thicknesses will be .010, .015", and .020". hopefully its one of these because the .030" looks like the ptfe 'boards' i received before lol. sorry no pics right now im on m comp ill see what i can do, or if u want a video let me kno what u want to see.

I had the same problem with the ptfe sheet. I did a 1.5gram micro run and couldn't figure out to collect the oil, so I ended up having to scrape it up w/ a credit card. Still way easier than scraping from the pyrex so I plan on using the ptfe sheet again on my next run.

I'm personally looking for something that I can still fold n peel to consolidate but I want it thick enough where I don't have to worry about tearing but will still form to a bowl or whatever u line it in

when using slick sheet or whatever ptfe sheet you will likely have to ise the "fold n peel" method of retrieving. fold the glob of oil stuck to the sheet in half (ontop of itself) and then peel the two sides of sheet apart quickly. this should leave the entire blob on only one side of the folded sheet. continue to do this until its a managable size and can be pulled off the sheet.

unless your oil is still runny then this should be pretty easy. you shouldnt have to scrape any of it from ptfe sheet.

Thinking I'm gonna QWET me up the last 1.3g of Bubble hash I have, since I have no shatter left and not enough buds/cash to make anything else. Ethanol is deemed ok here due to the tiny amount I will need to use with the tiny amount of bubble I am starting with. I expect to get .6-1g of great shatter back from this.

Will do the wash for a good 10-20 mins in the freezer with a few brief 20 second agitations. I will then filter in the freezer as well. I shall post results soon enough! My intention is to get absolutely EVERYTHING I can out of this starting material in one long frozen wash. I have had 60-70% returns from this bubble hash before, so wish me luck! This is all I'll be able to dab for the next week or two! Broke times!

what do you mean by ethanol being "deemed ok" due to the small amount...?

Yeah I tried that for a good 10 minutes but didn't have any luck. I think it may be due to the small amount of oil I extracted (.25g) or the minor fuck-up I had during the purge. Basically the vac chamber/ptfe sheet was in my sink, getting warmed up for the purge (faucet was on) when the drain stopped leaking, so the sink filled with water and floated the chamber into the running water.

I shook the water off the ptfe sheet and stuck it in the oven for a couple min until all visible moisture was gone. After the vac purge, the oil had a waxy appearance and was not sticky at all. The dabs I took that day crackled pretty badly on the nail but still had good taste. However, interestingly, the next day the oil had cleared up and the crackling stopped.

Hopefully the ptfe will work better next time

Deemed ok because usually it is way, way, way too expensive to even dream of using as a solvent to be evaporated into the air - this time only a tiny amount was needed which I happened to have on hand ;)

That's exactly what I did and it worked out good. I will say the there is less residue left of the ptfe plate vs straining into glass then pouring into your medium.

gotcha. i suppose i should feel lucky as its pretty cheap here. same price as KX... actually cheaper because i dont have to pay for shipping and it wont spill in transit.

There have not been enough pics in this thread lately!

Here's the final product from my LWET experiment. Netted about .9g of the most brittle absolute shatter I've ever touched.

Strongest heady high I have ever gotten from a concentrate. Stronger than the best 1st runs I've ever done from high-end cured nugs of the same strain.

Very subtle flavour, it tastes like the flowers, but fainter. It is as close to a neutral flavour as I have ever tasted in a concentrate, and much less of a citrus flavour than abovementioned nug runs.

Still, behold:

Looks comparable to Capital. N-butane made in USA. They claim their can helps prevent contamination because of the coating inside. No metal or welds exposed to butane. Just the "poly lined" can.
Capital is $75 (shipping incl) for a case of 12 net wt. 6.6 oz. so $6.25 per can.
