Discontinued Haze Dual V3

Although I am 100% satisfied with my Haze, I would not mind adding new stuff to it. It just keeps it exciting and if you already own one, you know that you are going to get a quality product at the end. Haze will have no problem capturing additional audience. It is an easy to use device as it is and adding more temp settings should not hurt at all. People who do not use extra settings can stick with the 2-3 settings which they always use and enjoy anyways. I owned a Pax, before it died on me recently and I only used 2 settings on it. With Haze, i use all 4 settings (you can still do e-juice at setting 1 and 2 by the way. I am not a regular e-juice user but I enjoy it every now and then).

:leaf:HAZE VAPORIZER REVIEW:leaf:

Hello my friends!

Several weeks ago I was fortunate to have a conversation with @scottg402 where he introduced me to the Haze vaporizer. After a few conversations, I purchased one. The dual bowl feature, and the ability to vape oil had me sold!

First a big thanks to Scott, Jamie, Emily, and everyone else at Haze. You guys are fantastic!

*First impression*
Wow! Very, very nice. I was very impressed with not only what the unit came with, but the quality of everything in the box. I felt great about my purchase! So I was off to a good start.

Included in the Haze box was:
-1xHaze Unit
-1xHaze charger (very nice, 2 battery charger reminiscent of a 2 battery version of the NiteCore I4 with a USB output)
-2x convection screens
-2x conduction screens
-2x oil cans
-2x batteries
-2x stems (1 glass, 1 surgical stainless steel)
-1x double sided cleaning brush
-1x tweezer shovel tool (very versatile with a shovel scoop built in)
-1x instructional DVD
-1x User manual (no temp chart, needs to be added)
20141002_140100_zps0d00f413.jpg

After the usual battery charge and burn offs (no fuming whatsoever) I commenced vaping. To be fair I used both screens and the cans with herb, I used .25 grams of Diesel for all testing, and used a medium grind with a very slight packing.

I started my review on temperature #2 with the conduction screen.
Lets see what kind of job the low temps can do.

The taste is fantastic, but there is no visable vapor until the end of my sessions.
However I did get highly medicated after 6 draws with each method. Very medicated.

IMO temp #1 is useless, and temp #2 is not high enough. I would like to see temp #1 and #2 to be higher than they currently are to be more "useable".

Temp #2 tastes great, but no vapor.
Temp #3 I was more than pleased with the flavor, and there was vapor production. It was great.
Temp #4 Tasty, more vapor present. A little warm for me.

Temp #4 vapor

ABV was nice, light, and uniform

Next the convection screen.
Temp #2 great taste no vapor. The temperature doesn't seem to be high enough.
Temp #3 great taste minimal vapor. Much better temperature setting.
Temp #4 good taste, warm but increased vapor. Getting too hot.

ABV nice and uniform.

Now for using herb with the can. This has been discussed quite a bit on the thread.
Temp #2 Nice taste, no vapor.
Temp #3 nice taste and better vapor production.
Temp #4 still tastes good increasing vapor production.

Temp #4 vapor.

ABV much darker, but even. The cans definitely get the most out of your herbs.
20141010_212021_zps525f250d.jpg

IMO the conduction screens work better than the convection, but the cans work the best for flavor, vapor, and efficiency.
I have to mention how much I love the tweezers! They are extremely useful and handy.
20141012_203729_zpse070b93f.jpg

Now lets see how the Haze works with oils. I started on Temp #4 for the oils.

I put .17 grams of shatter in the can.
20141008_024829_zps6c8ba8ec.jpg

Holy cow! The haze vapes shatter like a freaking beast! I was more than impressed. I took 8 delicious draws.

Temp #4 shatter in the can vapor.
20141010_015920_zpscfaa818f.jpg

WOW! The Haze works great with oils!

Oils are a sticky business, so be sure to keep your Haze clean after using any oils.

I held the Haze vertically while I was vaping oil.
It is much better to vape oils holding the Haze horizontally to keep the cans upright.
20141004_040646_zps6fec23fc.jpg

I wanted to see if I could vape shatter holding the Haze vertically. I put a piece of organic cotton on top of the shatter to absorb the liquid.
20141008_025235_zps1aba2bb0.jpg

20141008_025050_zps9b95f71f.jpg

While this seemed good in theory, the cotton absorbed a majority of the shatter and I got fewer wispier draws. This didn't work well.

So. Lets try using just one of the cellulose acetate pads that come in the can for E-juice.

I wanted the purest taste, so I soaked and did a burn off with the pad.
I then completely saturated the pad in a dab jar full of oil for 30 minutes on a warm light bulb.
This is the result.
20141008_020146_zps5d4222e5.jpg

Temp #4 with oil on a pad.
The taste was back! The first draw had a faint taste of the pad, but it went away fast! I took about 8 draws and shut her down. She was still going strong!

Sorry for the bad pic. I was pretty medicated so a pic alone was hard.
20141010_015518_zps1e880f4c.jpg

Before I give my final thoughts I want to share this.
A plastic fuse holder case will easily hold 6 cans packed very conveniently.
20141005_213209_zpsc9dbd75b.jpg

Final thoughts.
*THE GOOD*
-Dual ovens!
-User friendly design.
-Quality product with an amazing warranty.
-Awesome price for an amazing vaporizer.
-Outstanding customer service!
-The taste of the herb is amazing on #2 and #3.
-The Haze vapes oil like a champ!
-Replaceable batteries. I am so sick of "specific" chargers for vapes (pax I'm talking to you)!
-Ergonomic. I really like the way the Haze feels in my hand and my pocket.
-The cans are fantastic! If I had to choose a screen it would be the conduction.
-The stainless steel mouth piece tastes just as good as the glass.
-Tastes extremely pure from the start.

*THE NOT SO GOOD*
-Temperatures need to be adjusted. Temp #1 is useless and should be the temp of #2, which is barely useful and should be raised as well IMHO.
-Battery door can come open when tapping the stem out. That should be an easy fix.
-Needs a battery life meter. (Possibly use the temp change button and show each of the 4 dots as 25% life)
-Longer lasting batteries would be great.

My final thoughts.
-Overall I think the Haze is an amazing performer.
-I don't like the first 2 temp settings and I still love the Haze.
-It needs a battery life indicator.
-I was amazed at its versatility with herbs and oils.
-Why doesn't every vaporizer have 2 ovens! Brilliant!
-For only being on the market for 6 months, the Haze not only works great as is, but is constantly improving!
-I believe with some small tweaks the Haze will be the one to beat. I do not think that will happen unless they change the temperatures. I would not doubt that is holding a lot of people back from purchasing one.
-I wish the battery was on the other side. That would keep the unit cooler in your hand and the cans would be upright when holding it (if your right handed).
-spill/leak proof cans would be amazing if that is possible with oils.
-Cloud chasers may be skeptical because of the very low temps. I am no cloud chaser but I do like to see "confirmation" vapor.

Other than my personal strong beliefs that the temperatures need changed, and it should have a battery life indicator, the rest is just nit picking at it.

The rest are wants, not needs.

The Haze is a great vaporizer at a great price. It is versatile and user friendly. It works well with all methods of "screens" all of which I'm sure are personal preferences.

I would definitely recommend the Haze to a friend (I already have).

My rating: 4.5/5 stars

As always, I thank you for taking the time to read my review.
I hope this was helpful!

Great review vape Dr. I am currently waiting for my v2 cause my v1 is on the fritz and won't turn on. I had a enjoyable experience with customer service, (I didn't know that was possible) and feel confident that haze will uphold the 10 yr warranty. Some only offer 6 months, wtf? Some vaporizers life span can't even make it to 6 months, and they cost as much or more.
I can't wait till I'm walking in a haze again

Has anyone tested the accuracy of the temperatures? 350°F (177°C) should produce lots of visible vapour. If the oven temperature is accurate then airflow must be overcoming it. I've done considerable vaping at 160°C with both the Extreme and the Ascent, both of which produce thin but quite visible vapour at that temperature.

I was told by Haze that a V3 would not be released until next year sometime.

I was able to experience a friends Haze, I already like it over higher end models I have had the luxury of using. I LOVE IT! The Draw on it seems nice and easy compared to most.

Having said that I imagine like on most other Vaporizers or hell even glass it is all about the draw speed/volume. Slower draws usually equate to a more even heat inflow/outflow, denser clouds and more tingle to the taste buds.

@Haze Vaporizers can you please clarify the versions out there?

I know @NickDlow mentioned some changes on his unit and I thought it came from the second production run. If that is the case should we call that v1.2 and the current run (fourth production run I think [mine and @Vape Dr. ]) version 2.0?

Yes @ichibaneye there are no major changes coming this year but maybe some of the tweaks we are discussing could be simple fixes to go into future revisions of this generation??

Hello Everybody

I have reviewed everything posted over the past few days. You guys have amazing ideas and suggestions. Please note that every single one of these goes into our list of discussion points for our weekly meetings. We assess them from different angles and feasible ones get into our production schedule based on the weight and required time of completion. So thank you as always.

I also want to thank all members who took their time to review our product, provide valuable information to all members and readers of this forum. These reviews motivate us to do better with each release. They also motivate our staff as they can see that their hard work is appreciated.

In terms of release information. We are currently shipping out V2 models. This is the latest model with all improvements applied. There are no other versions. There are clear differences between original version and the V2. The easiest way to identify is through the stainless steel heating bowl covers.

If you have one of those, you have the latest version. Otherwise, you have the original version.

If we roll out anything new before the end of the year, we will notify everybody on our website, on our social media pages and certainly on this forum. There is no planned V3 for this year. If we apply new points before the year end, we can label them as V2.1, 2.2 etc. since they will not be anything major.

For the next year, all your ideas and feedback will help us build a possible new version or maybe even a new line depending on what our engineers and management will agree on.

Our goal is to make the Haze brand one of the most innovative and reliable brand of vaporizers. We are working diligently towards that without sacrificing our quality and level of customer service.

If you guys have any other questions, please contact us or share on this thread. I will do my best to get them answered as fast as possible.

Thank you again.

Emily

I don't have the tools to test this but yes I agree it could be something with the airflow. If you like a restricton free draw then the Haze is for you. It's so different than my Pax and Indica in that regard. Pretty close to the Ascent if I recall correctly.

The airflow could be cooling it down and maybe I'm not giving it enough time between draws to fully recover.

I am going to crush a whole can on 2 tomorrow but this time I will wait a little longer in between draws. Let's see what I come up with.....

Either way I am just doing this out of curiosity. I would still prefer Haze to just move it up a bit so I don't have to adjust my style to get vapor confirmation.

So I had my Haze working overtime tonight.
I went to pull the mouthpiece stem out and wouldn't you know the O-ring started to come out with it.

Do not worry if this happens my friends, it was very easy to fix.

O-ring out

Groove it needs to be in.

The tool I used was a cheap dabber with a scoop, but a bent paperclip will work just fine.

I used the scoop end.

And I worked the O-ring right back into place.
Stick the O-ring into the chamber and poke it into the groove.
Start by the switch its much easier.

Work it right back into the groove.

Easy peasy.

This was entirely my fault folks.
I didn't clean my unit after my review and ran it pretty hard with oil tonight.
Lesson learned.

I did find that twisting the stem when you pull it out lessens the chance of this happening.

Sorry for the back to back edit expired

You guys (@scottg402 and @Vape Dr.) had great reviews so I won't bother. But I will say I perfer the OG model's feedback lights blinking after each hit for the a reheat. Also it let's me know if I broke up the 5min shut off timer. I noticed if I don't pull hard on the og model the lights won't blink and it thinks the unit is idle still and will turn off. I can't distinguish that with the new model. But not a big deal what so ever. I'm loving the improved heat up time with the herb in the can! Now I love Haze twice as much lol. OG Haze is going to be my water pipe vape. I love how perfect the haze works with them. You whitewall the shit out of glass with this beast!!
I love the improvements @Haze Vaporizers, keep them coming!

Just wanted to say I love this vape. It was everything I expected and more. The only worry I have is the mouth piece getting stuck, but it always eventually comes out. Thanks to all of you for informing me about haze.

Hello everyone,

Hey @NickDlow congrats on the new unit! I don't know man.....I am happy to NOT have that blinking in my face but I can see your point too. This is one of those features where you can't make everyone happy with so I guess its good you have the best of both worlds with two Haze units!

@qaz! Welcome aboard! Pretty simple to use but let us know of any questions.

Now for some follow up.....

Tonight I was able to get light whispy vapor out of the can on level two. It took about 4-5 ten second tasty draws before the vapor became noticeable but after that it was pretty consistent. I waited about 30 seconds between draws for the unit to recover.

I took about 20 or so draws, got completely medicated and then turned it off and let the Haze completely cool down.

A bit later (still medicated) I was itching to see if the recovery time was a factor so I flipped the switch over to the other bowl (I just love that) and started on two again. This time only 15 seconds between draws and yep a noticeable reduction in whispy vapor. Almost none.

So it's just one test and I have had mixed results in the past but I am thinking that the recovery time plays a heavy part in your level 2 (temp 350) vapor production.

What's interesting about this is I don't have any problems getting light stuff out of my Indica at 340 (~15 seconds between draws) so it makes you wonder a bit how close 350 is on level 2 with the Haze.

Anyone else try this? I don't have my old unit anymore but I would also be interested if there is a difference between the OG and v2 if anyone is willing to try it.

Thanks @scottg402 i fell in love with my Haze all over again.

I understand I'm probably in the minority with the feedback lights. I also know u can make everyone happy but u can make a majority happy so I understand why that changed it.

Yes, it's good to have the best of both worlds now lol. But I'd be glad to test the OG vs V2 on setting #2. So u want to test the difference in recovery time (15sec nd 20sec) between draws on both units with a can of herb?

@qaz! yes welcome to the Haze family. The sticky mouthpiece has been an annoyance to me also. I store my mouthpiece out of my unit in the case I have for my Haze. Hopefully this is still being worked on. On the new unit I noticed at the bottom of the air path is a raised "X" or cross depending on how u look at it. I believe this was an attempt to reduce the stickiness. I really haven't used my Haze enough yet to say if it helps or not. @Haze Vaporizers is always open to ideas so be sure to share all questions, comments and concerns. One of us or haze themselves will be glad to help/listen. Enjoy ur Haze my friend

I have spoken to them about this and yes this is something they are still working on. More to come on this subject (hopefully).

I just received my haze today and am disappointed that it's not the newest version that I was assured it was, but I can't be too upset cause even the og haze is better than most. Still I feel like a kid that got books when I was hoping for a gameboy

Nevermind! Just placed my order! Cant wait for next week!

@Haze Vaporizers if it werent for the lovely community at FC I probably would have NEVER purchased this vaporizer. Vape dr was the one who confirmed it for me though with all the info he provided me through PM. I really hope to see the haze thrive on here and everywhere else!

Another master piece by @Ed's TnT
iUqCNxJ.jpg

After using my Blackwood Haze stem from @Ed's TnT its a nice change of pace drone the glass n SS. The stem makes a great airtight seal. The o-ring fits snug into a groove in the stem.
9H3T9NY.jpg

The flavor of the vapor is very 'natural' if that makes sense. Very enjoyable and looks beautiful! Also it's nice not having to worry about breaking the glass. I personally don't perfer the SS stem so I don't know its pros n cons vs the wood stem. Anyway I'm very pleased with this beautiful stem. The brown n black grains are just stunning.
