almost familiar with the sr71 to put her together in the dark ^_^ i'm down to about once a week for cleanings. i love this thing. law enforcement saw me with it this week. all he said was, "wow, those things are a few hundred bucks" and left me alone. good times, good times.

thats because the unit itself is not properly adjusted. its causing a short somewhere in the button, and by modifying it with a wire inside, this could very well be the cause.
Ohh okay I see. Well this happened before I added that wire. It's been fine since then. Do you recommend I remove it?

we understand that and there shouldnt be any modifications done to it to make it work. We have tested every single 8 that had an issue with its owner and all of them after we rebuilt them was able to fire all the time.

If anyone is not happy with there 8 please let me know now and ill facilitate a return for them.
I'll be happy when it works..
What's the eta on the fix? :|

My 8 MIGHT even be fixed just by backing the button screw off, just been unable to test it since i made the adjustment because im an asshole and lost my spring in line buying a screw driver to make the adjustment Pressing the button hard isnt a major complaint for me, but I don't use MJ medically and feel like it definitely would be an issue for them.

i definitely dont want to return my 8 though. device is gorgeous and feels so great in the hand. will definitely be worth the headaches and patience when its running as you guys dreamed and designed

I can get my 8 to fire, but it keeps somehow going back to not working. I'm constantly having to adjust it, and it's just not consistent for me at all! And I still always have to crank the button. I'm really hoping the new center pins will help fix this issue!! I would love for this to be my daily driver, but as for right now, it's just a little too inconsistent for me! It's a pain in the ass to have to pull it all apart and adjust it and put it back together on the go!

maybe for some people it will but mine had the problem come up again even after adjusting the screw. the adjustment helped for a few sessions. then it stopped again, if I kinda wiggled my thumb it would suddenly fire. This led me to believe that it's bad connections with the pins.

For those that use the herc with their glass, what size whip will fit on the herc mouthpiece? Or is there a better way to use the herc with my own glass?

Hopefully I can get my 8 fixed so my GF can stop busting my balls every time I whip out the Persei instead of the 8...

Don't get me wrong my 8 fires when I smash extremely hard on the button. But if I wanted a thumb workout i would just play more video games...

I've been able to get mine to consistently heat up(pretty fast too) by adding a small bit of wire stuffed into the space behind the gold screw. now the bottom pin is making good contact and the top is normal. Don't know if this is recommended, but it's working for me so far it's been one day so far without having to adjust it. But yeah I'm hoping the new pins help us with this

have you guys checked your o rings on both your pins? Once i tore the excess material off of mine which was already starting to rip, my consistency got WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY better. Then I lost my spring.

I think the problem lies with the V3 Top. I'm having the same problem. V3 Top will flash instead of fire properly. No matter the Core or Battery.

yea no doubt -- seem to be having serious blinking issues (especially with anything but the hurc 74 --- which still blinks but not as constant -- ==== some parts just can't work with due to blinking -- )
seems to definitely have gotten much worse ... I only use core -- n I think it may be the core -- but now I see others with top issues ??? hmm

thx 4 feedback bros

My o rings are fine. I don't see how that would affect it, maybe the way the it sits inside the slot. I thought they were just there to secure the pins in the slots and not allow any side to side movement. I could be wrong though.

Yea, my o-rings are all fine. I've tried everything. If I push the button in at a downward or upward angle it'll fire how it's supposed to. But very rarely will it fire that well when I just push the button in straight and normally. Sometimes it will if I really crank on it tho.

This is what i did and so far it's been working without having to adjust anything. Again don't know if you guys should do this. Worked for me though:rockon:

Yes, exactly what would happen to me. At an angle it would fire a lot more. when pressed straight, very rarely would it work.

i too noticed a significant difference in mines firing when using an upward angle
+1. Guys I went personally to G so he can check out the 8. He got it to fire everytime with consistent voltage. Drove home and screwed on the SR71. Works and heats up, but no where near my Persei. The next day weak heat up and misfire. :(

I use a 3/8" ID silicone tubing and it works great connecting to my wpa & bubbler.

edit: Watch out for blowback tho. You really need to carb the connection or you'll see little puffs of vapor coming out the sides of the Herc when you stop inhaling. I just make sure to lift the wpa to clear the bubbler.

Just spent a some time with The Core on a road trip with much success. The usb port came in really handy also to keep my phone charged whilst using Google maps for navigating.(I wasn't driving before you guys holler) So nice to keep the batteries fresh and still rock my Herc. Fitament can be a little wonky as far as the cord where it plugs into the persei bottom. Every so often it caused the persei to "blink" when cord was moved around. No biggie since I am aware of it. G said I could send it back, but it hasn't ben that big of a deal.
I love the flavor when dialing back to 7.0v, Tangie shatter never tasted so good. Anyway, if you're on the fence about one of these bad boys, BUY ONE NOW, you won't regret it.

Got a response first thing this morning to the ticket I filed over the weekend! As I've come to expect from UP tech the customer service is great. With the number of times I've gotten a mixed up order sent to me though I think the guys doing the packing may need to lay off the product testing! :ko:

I had the whole weekend to play around with my new Okeanos v2, KISS globe and regular KISS carts.

As I mentioned in an earlier post the Okeanos has been great despite some issues figuring out the right water fill level. From my experience so far the Okeanos just has to be used with a light draw or you are going to get some water in your mouth. Not an issue for me at all but a little rough when passing to a friend to hit for the first time. I love the fact that the KISS carts just screw in to the Okeanos. It is so convenient to swap the Okeanos between my Omicron Lite and Persei and just switch over to a 7.4v KISS cart for the latter. With a 7.4v Ti KISS cart inside it the Okeanos on the Persei hits like a beast. Big clouds possible this way if your throat can take it. Overall the Okeanos has been a pleasure in all formats. One thing I wonder is how much the water is helping to filter the vapor with the way the Okeanos is designed? Certainly doesn't cool things down like a Nibbler!

The KISS globe is the cart I used the least over the weekend. Once again it is interchangeable between my Omicron Lite and Persei which is super convenient. Unfortunately, unlike the Okeanos the globe doesn't use a standard KISS cart for its coil. I've been trying the 1701 donut in the globe with both the Persei + core and my Omicron Lite. The globe with the donut just struggles to produce vapor at 3.7v which makes using it with the Omicron not that great. When I had the core working last night though the donut was performing nicely at 4.2v. I haven't had a chance to try the standard Ti globe coil yet.

This weekend was actually my first time ever using the normal KISS carts. I started with a Herc SR74 and had never tried other UP tech carts. The normal KISS carts on the Omicron are as expected almost exactly like my old G-Pen EO cart. The main difference is they taste WAY better. I was really surprised with how great the 3.4v Ti KISS cart tastes. Really amazing compared to the G-Pen in my humble opinion. The 7.4v Ti KISS cart on the other hand I find really harsh. Definitely produces a ton of vapor fast but really hurts my throat to hit it. I put the 7.4v on my lightsaber Persei setup and it just about killed me hah.

Overall super pleased with the additions to my UP tech line up!

I have been loitering around these Persei threads for some time now... and I REALLY want an upscale, knock my socks off vape, one powerful enough to retire my dab rig- and I keep coming back to the 8.

But after reading hundreds of posts, I keep being put off by all the mods, rebuilds, and adjustments required by the customer just to get these pens and cartridges operating as they are intended.

@THC SCIENTIFIC ~ Do all the vapes and carts you sell require adjustments, rebuilds and mods; or do any simply work out of the box with no fucking with? Is there a fee to have you tune it so that it functions well before it ships?

Been away from the thread for a while, but my experience with w9 products has been incredibly carefree, minus the nervous twitching i do when im expecting a package... i bought a used gen 1 persei 1 year ago, slapped an sr 74 3.7 when i grew tired of the e.o's, grabbed some gnarly 3rd party batteries and its been bullet proof. I clean maybe once a month. It has survived beach, rain, ranch work, 110 plus heat, my general carelessness with stuff and has yet to fail me. Just recently torched the center gold pin black trying to clean and free the spring and it works better now for some odd reason. My ti sponge is a wreck due to numerous torchings and refitting during more thorough cleanings. It still tastes fresh and delivers exactly what ive expected. The only mod to my herc is the nibbler. Ive never once touched my equipment with a multimeter and i would polish g's nuts to a perfect shine in gratitude for his invention. Maybe i just got lucky, but its pretty rugged tech. The herc caused me to give up my volcano... thats right. Thats how good it is.
