Discontinued Elevape SV

I don't leave home without my ESV ready to go! Bought an extra cap , screens and O rings. I always have a clean cap to use.

Next time I take it apart to clean, I am going to gently try to center the heat coil under the bowl screen. Maybe I can get more even heat distribution, with a little less stirring required.

I would not try to manipulate the coil too much without a spare. If you move the coil and any part of the parallel circular coils touch each other, it will short and you will get an odd flashing on the draw indicator light when drawing. You will get no heat and therefore no vapor.

I have been enjoying my Elevape this past week as well, just as an in home portable. Always pleasantly surprised how nice and heavy the hits can be, it is still one of my most efficient vapes. Once new stirring and screen solutions are available it will be an incredible on the go portable as well. I think those implementations will be what encourages many others to join the herd, bc this is such a simple and effective tool for stealthy vaping, and with rolling upgrades to software/firmware, it should never become obsolete (though user replaceable batteries would be a huge plus too!)

I musta had some moist herbs when I set my temps so high! And the owner of the 420-friendly PC down the street has since moved to FLA...

It's been a couple years since I've posted on this forum but I've been lurking from time to time, just wanted to share my current experience so far with ESV.

After reading through all the pages of this forum I decided to purchase one despite the testimonies regarding the dead on arrival units.(no heat)
I placed my order on September 9th with VN.
Received my unit on the 16th of September , read the instructions..charged it for 5 hours and loaded it up.
No vapor was produced..tried a finer grind..no vapor.
Reached out to customer service on the 17th of September.
Spoke with Joe, who advised me to call when in front of a PC.
Later that day we troubleshooted and the unit still produced no vapor.
Next step was to download the software, tried to connect to multiple PCs and the esv was not recognized.
Tried a different micro USB cord, still no feedback from PCs.
September 18th, Joe advised that he communicated with head of software development team regarding new software and firmware 14.0, advised I will be provided with a file in 24 hours.
September 19th, received copy of new software and firmware..uninstslled old software and firmware..download new software...software recongizes unit however the unit is stuck in boot mode..unit is not producing vapor.
September 20th, Joe advises to send unit back to ipuffusa warehouse. Specifically asks for unit to be shipped back inside of carrying case in a $5.25 USPS flat rate box..the 2 day shipping ones.
September 21st, I printed out a shipping label on PayPal and mailed it in..provided tracking information to Joe as well.
I took pictures of the unit and tracking numbers just to be 100%.
Reviewed tracking information on the 25th, had not reached destination..I understand things happen the 2 day shipping has a lot of variables. Package made it from MD to CA and was sitting at San Marcos post office.
On the 26th I had a feeling that I should call USPS, went with my gut.
I reached out to USPS, provided my tracking number and they basically read me the tracking history.
The rep saw that it went from MD to CA..then back to MD for delivery..
She provided me with the San Marcos post office number for me to do further research.
I called during my lunch break and the rep told me that there was no destination address on the package.
I thought to myself...this can't be corect...printed it out and taped it on the package.
Rep advised it will return to me and I can send it back..still felt uneasy.
Waited a day..called back in and got another rep..no additional information.
On October 2nd I received my parcel in the mail... Empty..openeded..retaped close with a big red stamp saying received without contents..to make matters even worse. Whomever had stolen it had taped a piece of white paper(size of a business card) over the destination address.
Called Joe, advised of what happened..he had advised he never had it happen before and advised to perform a domestic USPS claim.
Filed claim.. Took picture of evidence then just relaxed as the process went on.
1tubs7.jpg

October 7th my claim was approved.
October 10th I received my reimbursement of $50 from USPS.. Soon after I reached out to Joe of Ipuffusa.
Joe advised that I should use my reimbursement to help me buy another unit...
So $50 off a $325 vaporizer...that made me feel a little uncomfortable being that he helped me troubleshoot and advised me to send it back specifically in that way.
I asked if there was anything else that could be done with these special circumstances and he advised he couldn't deeply discount or give away units because he would get "hit on the head”
He said he will speak to his supvisor and see about any alternatives.

My apologies for the long post, I wanted my first post to be an in depth review like the ones I did back in the day.
Only thing that is keeping me level headed through the whole ordeal is the fact someone stole a malifunctioning vaporizer... Someone went out of there way to steal a paperweight.

@blackbur this is a very unfortunate situation. As I have mentioned on the phone this has never happened to us before, I'm sure that other people on the forum would agree that our customer service is second to none, we are doing everything to make sure that every Elevape Smart user is satisfied. I have discussed the situation with my superior and he promised he will help you .

I bet this has nothing to do with the people of elevape but with somebody working at the postal service who used his five finger discount coupon.
For me, the elevape quickly became my main vaporizer and I still love it.
Well the unit wasn't working right off the bat, due to #1 software/hardware issyes and #2 malifunctioning CPU. Based on the information available, I believe someone who works within or in association with USPS opened the parcel due to the fact that the tracking information only shows it traveling between post offices and etc.

I have been contacted by a supervisor within IpuffUSA to further discuss the situation. I will keep you guys updated.

Edit:I guess I was a little too slow
I think you have to go through the App (which I don't have) or email Joe like I did.

Got my screens and spare cap from Joe a couple of days after I called him. My ESV continues to work well for me, no problems yet and I hope it stays that way.

Bad news to report, I'm afraid.

Today, though fully clean and fully charged, my ESV would only give me the blinking red light.

Tried plugging it into my portable battery pack and the light turned orange or green, I can't tell. Tried taking a hit while plugged in and BAM! Combustion.

Got it home, plugged it into computer. 94% charge, everything looks fine. Unplug it, get one hit out of it, and then blinking light. Plug it back in. Take it out. One hit, and then blinking red light.

Plug it back in to computer, try to take a hit - combustion.

Put in an E-mail to customer service, but I really need my ESV to work tomorrow. Any ideas here? Everything looks fine inside...

You need to use the other app you've installed that allows you to flash your SV. I'm on my phone, right now so I can't retrieve the post about it but there's a short explanation on a previous post (2 months ago maybe?).

Edit: found it!

With the last download of the app, it also downloaded a little program called
iPuff advanced configuration wich lets you choose between Ipuff devices in flash mode
or ipuff devices in vape mode.
When flash mode selected, the charging light on the smartvape started blinking and I couldn't connect to the app, I guess it's something for later on so we can tweek other things too? maybe do a software reset of the elevape?

.

@EveryDayAmnesiac The problem is your coil shorting out, it must of gotten deformed during cleaning and now the unit senses that there is not enough resistance of the coil . just check if the coil is touching each other . once you straightened it out plug into power source it will reset it self.

Okay, I can see now that my coil is stuck together a little bit, but trying to straighten it out just seems to warp the coil more...

Thanks, @Ipuffusa! I know it's a relic, but the damn legacy software I use for work prevents me from upgrading OS.

Well boys and girls, I gotta say that I've never in my life received such prompt customer service for any product in my life, other than the Firefly. I'd give them both an A+.

Unfortunately, my idiocy and shaky hands were unable to fix this particular problem, so it's time for new heating coils! My hands have gotten so bad that I could barely even unscrew the coil... guh. I'll probably have to have a friend screw in a new one for me...

I think most other people could have fixed this issue themselves.

I don't think I realized until my mini-freakout today just how fond I've grown of the ESV - or how dependent on it I've become already. Am very relieved I'll only be a few days without it!

I'm not in desperate need... so, I'll wait for the website to launch.

Suggestion: the lid screen would be great if it had a sealed border... the loose threads are a real wear point, and will degrade over time. The original brass screen I've already tossed, as it was shredding itself.
