Looks my mini's heater has stopped working :( Anyone know the best way to contact them as I heard it can take a month or more for them to even reply.

Ya , That's the part that scares me .
I've read on this thread that their communication skills and CS
was a bit tardy . And being that they're located in Europe ( France ? )
If I had to do any kind of warranty , it would be overseas , even longer .

Can anyone update on Hermes CS as of late ?

Hi,
what shop did you buy it from, US/ Europe? Must US dealers act as the warranty agent/take it back in.

Sometimes in the middle of a cycle it just goes blank and appears to have quit. If you unscrew the battery, wait 5 seconds, screw it back together, that resets it and it works fine. Try that.
Or setting it in the charger cradle can reset it.

I've had this happen twice. Once I got a switch done with a turn around of three days. This was done dealing directly with Vapefiend.co.uk.. He's great! Second time, not too long after the first, maybe three weeks. Vapefiend.co.uk was showing as out of stock of my particular colour. My retailer sorted it out via his end for me to receive my replacement directly from Hermes Medical (Spain by the way)so as to allow me a like for like replacement.. again this was a turn around of three days.
Now after my second unit goosed I queried Vapefiend as to the frequency of faults at his end.. I was assured they are few and far between and that he'd spoken to the boss of Hermes and been told there were some quality control issues when they'd moved factories, which have subsequently been remedied. The unit I have now had the latest firmware version stated on the shipping receipt/paperwork. Had no problems whatsoever.. Other than the idiosyncrasies this tasty Lil fu#ker displays at times.
Hope you can resolve the issue quickly my man.Sucks to be Minivapless!

I bought it directly from Hermes about 1.5 years ago. It fails to reach temperature, the temp light just keeps blinking no matter the setting. I already sent a ticket using their website so we'll see how long it takes.

Same issue exactly that I had with my 1st unit. Blinky Mcblinkerson.. The bas#tard Lol

Had a few of these issues my self, first the lid came apart (the metal and plastic became two separate pieces). Then I had the non stop blinking. All issues were resolved and I am now on my second MV....although this has a slight problem.

I still love the MV though and would still recommend to anyone looking at high end desk top / unbeatable portable vaporizer.

Just had a basket and well.... :whoa: :ko: lol

I've had my decarb kit for about a week now.

Price = sucks :cuss:

Does what it's supposed to do. Hotter chamber temperature.
Taste wise. Not much different between the stainless steel vs silicone version. My reference material is LA Confidential and Medicine Man.
Installation. Put it in like the one I took out. Mine is staying in place, but easy to remove. If you have an Ascent, the metal tool thingy makes taking out the smaller inner ring of the MV a snap.

I could have wrote more, but this sums it up actually.:D I'm generally happy I got it, but the price....

Almost there...
The MiniVap has landed!!!

Had a quick session using the long silicone tube thingy and a small basket of herbs.
Heated up in BLUE and got some amazing blue, whispy clouds. Not big but super tasty!! The AK-47 had all of a sudden come alive with different tastes and flavors!

Battery was not charged and turned red quickly so i quickly shut it off.

Effect on blue is very cerebral and awesome!!
3 hours to go...

Mine did not come with the adapter base...
Does the Vape heat up any quicker on the adapter or is it about the same time? Thinking if it is quicker I could always start on the adapter and one heated switch over to the battery for portability.

Any thoughts?

EDIT: On closer inspection the finish is not very good in some areas...
Nicks and scrapes already...
Wonder if it was caused by CBSA when the opened it all?
Kind of annoying for such a high priced item.

wow, blue! I hadn't even thought to try that lol

I have not noticed any difference in heat up time between the adapter and the battery. I don't think there is one. maybe when the battery gets low on charge... but I haven't gone there yet. most I've done is 3 sessions before recharging which is apparently nothing for this battery.

When I've time I'll leave the unit to run right up to red and leave it sitting until it starts flashing blue.. I then click to pink and as the entire unit is now totally up to heat.. Good clouds from every colour.
I must however point out the Minivap doesn't require this. It will deliver vapour straight away.
The way I see it you're pulling air through the path to be heated to whatever colour/temp you choose.. Some people Suck hard and fast.. Some slow and steady.. And some everywhere between..
There's only so much a heater can do. If you suck like a hoover on red as soon as you've switched it on and it's done flashing then the unit is inevitably going to struggle somewhat to maintain its heat at a consistant red temp. Slow and steady and of course it'll do a far more desirable job of extracting the goodies.
I think the solo with its restricted draw set my lungs up really well for every other vape. I bought one of every kind of PVHES but ended up using the stock stem or unPVHESed 14mm GonG adapter for the very same reason. My two cents.

Don't get me wrong i really liked what i saw and the way it worked!
I know it will perform so much better after a good charging!
And then there was that flavour and taste from those few hits!!!
Oh my!!! I think we are going to be good friends after more experimenting!!

I definitely have found that my taste buds soon become all too accustomed to the pretty much (imho) unmatched flavour/taste the MV gives. So if like me you find yourself draining a basket or four everyday the taste will normalise.
However a few days away from any vape whatsoever and BOOM! That taste comes screaming right back. I'm fecking drooling here thinking about that first hit that's coming after this mini 4 day TBreak.

same here! I still use the stock stem with my solo instead of the pvhe ones. Now i just use my minivap:)

When you look at the color of your MiniVap, is the battery and the main unit the same color?

My battery is shiny black, while the main unit is a matt black almost dark grey.
Seems a bit odd to me as the pictures show it to be shiny black.

Oh and another question!
When i connect the battery the light on the back is BLUE for quite a while before it turns GREEN.
Is this normal?

I can't speak for the color mine is a consistent shiny gold. As for the blue light when connecting the 2 pieces, LL, mine does the same thing, stays blue for a while until switching to green. I think this is showing a topped off battery (Blue:shrug:) but I'm not 100% :D

One would think the two halves should match perfectly in any of the colour options.

So i have had a few sessions now with the MiniVap and i think it may take us longer to be good friends after all.
I am mainly using my unit on BLUE with the flexicone, screen and basket combo and a WT.
Awesome flavour for hit after hit after hit!!!

But if i try the same with the flexicone+ or the hard mouth piece i get one delicious hit and then it goes away and seems to be very hot.
I think it is quite technique sensitive in some respects?
A slow inhale gets me no vapor but great flavour for many hits.
A fast pull gets me a good cloud, great flavour, very hot vapour and the rest of the hits are just so-so.

So far it is a Water Tool Vape for me but i have to see what else it can do.
Green is way too hot without a WT.

I will say the medicated effect is very pleasant!
Jack Herer through my Atomic bubbler was sublime!
Alert and pain free but flying high and ready for Turkey Dinner #1!!!

My unit and battery (black) are slightly different. Unit matt, battery shiny.

I'm a watertool vapist so can't really comment on usage without one.. I guess I could take a few for the team though.. For experience sake.

As for the lights.. I've mentioned before that I have no feckin clue.. The rear light on the unit and it's lil buddy on the PA seems random as you like.. For instance there are times the lights will change as I invert the unit. Idiosyncratic wee vape.

Ditto on the black version as everyone else. I think either the body or battery fabricators didn't get the same memo. I'm unfazed by it any more.

The battery light on mine apparently isn't the only one that don't jive with the manual. Mine starts out red and within five seconds changes to, and stays, blue. Manual calls out green-orange-red. My temperature lights work as they should. That's all I ultimately care about. I never wait for the battery to go red anyhow out of habit. Couple three days or so of use and I throw it on the charger.

I use a bubbler almost exclusively, but have always believed a glass straw with a modified flexi tube combo would greatly cool down the hit. I have never taken it past the thought stage though.

Never occurred to me that would work. I've plenty glass tubes kicking about for my Arizer EQ.. Both the balloon mouth pieces and the mouth whip mouth piece.
I'll give it a go come Monday.

Edit: think I'll chop up a flexi tube so as to replace sections with these glass mouthpieces. I'll attach them together with maybe half inch sections of chopped flexicone tubing, keeping the flared part where the basket is seated slightly longer. Reckon I could have something one and a half to two times the length of the flexicone tube but all in glass. I could jam the glass close together so it'll stay kinda straight.. Or leave spaces so it's got some bend in it.. Or a mix of both. Love it!

Edit: I do already utilise these glass pieces as a part of my diy WT attachment and can confirm the glass does get damned hot to the touch so bodes well for success I guess. I could even throw it in the fridge for bit first.. I'm pumped for this now lads. Cheers.

My battery is slightly darker than my heater, not very noticeable though IMO

the light on the back changes color for me too, but I don't really know what the hell that light is doing anyway haha... this thing is not without its quirks

I've had great results using the flexicone + combined with the straight half of the plastic mouthpiece pressed into the end of the whip (as a mouthpiece), using the pink and green settings. the vapor is very dry so I need to drink water at the same time, but I don't find it too hot. it's much cooler than just using the plastic mouthpiece. I'm doing long steady draws of at least 10 seconds. abv is coming out totally drained and the effects are really nice and potent.

this thing really does shine when combined with a bubbler but that's not the main reason I bought it. I already have a device that is optimized for that (EVO), so for me that's just a big added bonus

strange that you mention the flavor dropping off... that's one of the things I like the most about this vape, the flavor doesn't degrade for me until the load is nearly spent. this is especially emphasized when I just break up the herb by hand rather than grinding it

Gonna try this breaking up of the bud. Anyone got a grinder that does as good a job of powdering up bud? Like say the MLFB finishing one.. Wouldn't greater surface area mean more clouds but less pulls? As opposed to tearing it up in far bigger bits. Unless the MV is so good it still gets right into the chunks.

I use a Space Case 4 piece grinder. It grinds herb to a pretty fine and fluffy consistency. I have switched to long slow draws with the MV as I do with my Ascent. I get wonderfully dense vapor hits, especially with the decarb kit in MV, every time. I'm a green to red light user pretty much all the time. I do the chunk thing in my FireFly vape where it's easy to break-up the chunk during use since it's so simple to get to the herb to do this, just popping off the top lid. Not so easy or rather convenient with MV.

I actually have a space case 4 piece Ti model. I use my santa cruz shredder 1 piece as it seems to make smaller bits than the Spacey. I've seen the MFLB finishing grinder literally powder stuff. The duster grind would certainly let you fill up the basket more. Though itd eat through your supply doubly fast.

Quick question on the air path.

Why does such an expensive unit not have a clean air path?
There must be electronics in the heater section and when I draw the air is also drawn in through the two buttons on the side.
It seems impossible to get a good seal with this Vape and only draw air through the bottom screen.
This does not seem right.
The lid does not seal well as well so I am also wondering how well the bowl seals to the heat chamber and if air is also being drawn in there.
Seems to be a lot of unacceptable ways for air to be drawn into the unit from my perspective.

Try blocking the lower air path with your finger and them inhale with your mouth over the top of the chamber, still easy to get air through and I can hear it whistling through the buttons.

Also finding it difficult to get my draw speed correct and actually get good sized clouds.
At the moment my Solo outperforms the MiniVap!

Does it work better with the baskets or direct loading into the chamber?
So far I have tried all the options and the best one seems to be the flexicone into a WT.

The last session last night lasted a very long time and I was thoroughly medicated but it justs seems to not be quite as good as I thought it would be.

Any help or insights would be greatly appreciated!!

I'll have to check out the airpath further myself before I pipe up. I've never tasted any electronicy tinge through any of my MV units. My solo always had that kinda underlying subtlety of hot electrictronics. Guess I just got used to it though.. And it got me burst too. So..

My first unit worked well(like my current one)then had the constantly flashing front light as mentioned previously by a few here.. Before the lights went nuts I had a distinctive drop in power to the heater.
RogerD said it had been a known issue with some units and to send it back for repair/replacement and not just settle for a duff unit.
My unit I have now gets used every day almost and sometimes left on for a good long while(usually getting put straight back to red once auto cool down starts. I'm gonna look into pictures and a video tomorrow. Get a vid up of yor unit running a basket as it'd be helpful to see it in operation.

Edit: Also how much you putting in and in what basket?
