MiniVAP Vaporizer

When I first saw the MiniVap on-line years ago, it was priced at $1000. Obviously a lot cheaper now, they still want too much $ for me.

Granted the coupon @ vapornation was the deciding factor for me to purchase. But really, in retrospect knowing how good this vape is I would be way ahead of the game even at full price vs the plethora of failed/dissatisfied vapes I've purchased in the past and sold/mothballed. Way way ahead.

I think if you spent some quality time with the Minivap you might change your mind.

Believe me I wouldn't. I have one expensive model - the EVO, and if I hadn't gotten it via the $250 Indiegogo upgrade option, I wouldn't have that. I've collected quite a few home and portable models over the years, and I still have some that are quite satisfactory for me.

WOW! Look at all this activity! I thought this thread all but died years ago. The miniVap is still my favorite portable. It may not be stealthy but stealth is not one of my requirements. I am glad to see Roger D (Ca$h) is still active in this thread. His insites have always been much appreciated.

Live long and prosper miniVap!

Yeah that's great to see the thread coming to life again !

Roger D.. You should get a Y adapter and get those two babies up n running on a single hit!

I just received this picture from my blower. I can't wait for that box, it's coming with a custom recycler, a marble micro rig, a dry nectar collector and numerous adapters.. The ultimate package. I have been patiently waiting for months for all that stuff I wanted to add up and consolidate shipping.
That's going to be super awesome in a room spinning fashion !

miniVAP charger/battery experiment.........

To possibly extend battery charge time (?) I just started a new routine. I turn on the mV and
place it in the AC charging cradle. The AC powercord light does go to red. My thinking is that the
most power is used to get the mV from room temp up to 400, with less power needed to hold it
there when vaping. So, if it gets an AC boost, it's a good thing.

Has anyone else done this? Can you electrical engineers tell if it is charging while turned on
and in the charger cradle? Inquiring minds want to know ;)

Yes, it has a great battery life but just trying to extend it.

didn't the quick start guide specifically say not to run the miniVAP while it is charging? I thought I read that but I can double check when I get home

I'm pretty sure that's not an issue ... I remember hearing about this "rumour" way back when too ... but I don't think it had any merit.

I just read it. It says not to use it while it's in the charging base charging saying it can cause irreversible damage.

Needless to say, I personally have no problem following that warning.

as I'm sitting here typing the taste is lingering on my breath 10 minutes after I partook. I think maybe my sinuses have been coated with the most delicious residue.

I just tried breaking up some particularly fragrant OG Kush by hand, really just to be rid of any stems (no grind), and loaded it into the large basket. tried the pink heat setting with the solid mouthpiece. WOW... such flavor! I think I took like 8 or 9 giant rips and the flavor didn't deteriorate until the last two. exhaled vapor was thin to medium density, and quite blue. and the vapor was not uncomfortable on the throat, even though the vapor path is only like an inch and a half long!! somehow the plastic is entirely tasteless? maybe condensed vapor doesn't like to stick to it?

abv was light to mid brown and crumbled easily. I just ran it through the EVO and blew a decent cloud but it tasted acrid and undesirable. one and done. very impressed by the extraction of the miniVAP. I also believe that it has excellent temp control based on my experience with other high end devices. miniVAP vapor quality is in the highest class. I am really happy with this purchase.

X2. I don't think there is any vape that equals the taste of the mighty miniVAP. I often start with pink heat and the solid mouthpiece and get a super tastey lemon taste that is fantastic. Get one taste inhaling and different taste exhaling.
Then I might move to green and get a fuller taste that is still wonderful.
Then---5 seconds to pull the basket and set in my bubbler. Turn the heat to red and get , yet another taste/experience.
I think the secret is the pure internal air path and materials, the short 1.5" vapor path as you said (less path for vapor to condense out), and the remarkable "not hot" vapor even though the path is short and my mouthpiece gets very hot (on red) past the bend yet the vapor is not hot.
I just can't see using a bag vape , for example, where the vape sits/lingers in a plastic bag--the taste will not be in the same league. The bag, of course, for group use or whatever has advantages but ....
it will never equal mV taste level.
Glad you are enjoying the miniVAP experience!!

I'm sure I should be able to figure this out on my own, but I'm going to the source: you all. If one wanted to use the mV without the battery attached--that is, with only the small adapter--would the unit have to be plugged in to use? Or is that adapter a kind of mini-battery? In other words, could I use the "smaller" version, the one without the big battery, without having it plugged in?

Using the small power puck requires it being plugged in to use.

Okay, thanks. That makes sense. Now my next question. Although I don't really *need* a mV, I do *want* one, and the Vapornation discount is mighty appealing. It sounds like at least some of the folks buying through them received both the battery and the "puck" or adapter. Does anyone know if this is their standard package these days? I can ask them, of course, but I thought I'd see what people are receiving.

It's not supposed to be part of the kit. I think if you ask they will make sure it's not included ;)
Think of it as a possible bonus if you get it.

I have talked directly with Vapornation and the battery PLUS the AC puck were mistakes. Those that got the AC puck, hit the jackpot and lucked out.
headdoctor, what state are you in as you're welcome to come try mine as it is a big investment

speaking of pucks, I did not expect to receive a puck so I went ahead and ordered one from another vendor before my miniVAP arrived. just received it today. I'm somewhat puzzled because it is a little different from the one that was included with the MV. the one I received today has some sort of textured coating on it where it comes into contact with the base of the MV, where the one that came with the vape is smooth all over. stranger still, the new one has a fairly strong artificial citrus-like scent to it, which I'm not entirely thrilled about. serial numbers are different too (smooth, scentless one is 05J184, textured smelly one is 04H010)

anyone know what's going on here?

EDIT: I guess what I'm really wondering here is which version is more recent, why was there a revision, and has anyone else received a funny smelling puck? Lol

Mines is smooth. How very odd. How does the alternative coating feel? Like rubbery?
