I mean the problem with the plate? Just have my solo since June and yes i have broken corners! I mean maybe arizer fixed this problem?

Specifically I was talking about the idea that the current plastic is sub standard and causing the problem. A common belief for sure, but IMO not supported by history or logic.

IMO a design change, not the plastic material, is needed.

And yes @ataxian , CANNABIS IS THE HOLY GRAIL!!!
Since I made the cannabis comment I use the SOLO the most.
OK it's not to inflate ones ego however simple to use.
Lately just a PHVES stem and a CHILLUM tip.
Not exciting however it is effective!

Thanks. Wow, strange indeed. Are you sure it has small holes and won't run while charging? Too bad you don't have a PA to try. Some of us will think you truly scored there if so.........

OF

Well I cant tell you about the holes because I don't have another to compare it to .
And why would "Some of us will think you truly scored " ?

Bolding certain parts of his comment, putting sarcastic quotes around word I used ( or just explain to me the difference between 'rise in temperature' and 'warming up'). Also he presents conjecture as fact and had an emotional response to me not agreeing with the flaws in his logic. I challenge you to find any evidence of that in my posts. I do owe him thanks as his conclusion was right(not his reasoning) and the problem is solved now, but like they say you can kill more flies with honey than vinegar.

If you can't use while charging, then you can probably use the original power adapter cord and 'PA mode'. This mode lets you run the Solo more or less directly off the power cord. The newer 'charge and use' mode actually charges and discharges the battery in cycles, taxing and heating it more and lowering its lifespan.

Some don't mind having to replace the battery sooner in exchange for being able to use while charging. Others prefer to have the 'true PA' option that doesn't tax the battery. I was pretty excited when I got my open box Solo and it was the old style.

My ser# is M1F - bought in June - Why not M1F by now? just axin'!

The serial # is just an ID # for each Solo .
You ' may ' need it and/or proof of purchase when
exercising your warranty with Arizer .
They're released randomly , we've already seen M1T and M1Y's also .

@FUnhouse
Have you tried charging and setting the heat temp to see if it can ?
I'm asking b/c one member forgot to try .

[8] Got the solo today and super excited to try it out. Did the 12 min first use step while I wolfed down dinner.

Used one bowl pack with a screen and very finely ground herb from my mflb finishing grinder. I used the bent stem and found that it did indeed swivel. I knew I got those orings for a reason... Now to find the instructions on installing....

First hit was at setting 5. I was very surprised on how easy it was to hit. The one bowl pack got me to a 6.

Second hit was with a whole pinch from a bud. I wanted to see how this thing hit without grinding. I am a big fan of fine grinds for using pipes and of course the mflb but surprisingly found I liked the taste of the whole pinch more out of the solo. Experimented a bit and found I enjoyed the taste best at setting 3.

Finished the second bowl pack and about to go play Destiny. Sitting at a comfy [8.]

Very satisfied.

Edited. Thank you roto eye drops. Went from a tomato red to egg white in 3 minutes.

My second SOLO from Massdrop is silver and MIGxxx. The Black one I got a month or so ago is MITxxx. 3/4 of the screws on the bottom have tiny cracks on the black one. 2/4 on the Silver one.

You stir your material after each hit? For some reason every time I stir my bowl, I find that my solo doesn't produce as much vapor compared to not stirring at all.

So it's been 8 hrs charging and now I've been testing out my new Solo, for one thing the bent stem does wiggle around on this one first time.I'm okay with that for now!I started on 3 did 2 hits then to 5,it's a lot like my Vapir NO2 just slow steady hits but not that vaour No2 doesn't nearly have the same qaulity.I put about half a bowl when tamped .I can also use it while it's been plugged in......not sure when using inside I should run it from the cord.I guess it's good to use the battery get it worked in!

Thanks everyone for all your advice!!

If you pull out your stem and stir after each draw the herb cools down a lot. You would need to heat it back up. You don't need to stir after each draw. Just leave the stem in the unit until done. After your session and you still want to vape that herb again, then stir.

Its good to experiment and see what temps work best for you. Also see if a grind or a nugget works best. Whatever works for you is the right way.

I will tell you what I do even if it's strange!

Please note I'm just saying what I do:

PHVES stem fitted with CHILLUM tip (over kill)
I pack loose and grind with a space case two times. My stem is packed not tight!
Level 4 is my set point!
Here's the weirdest thing!
I get 7-10 rips before I dump my load into my hand!
I grumble the load and re-pack the stem!
10 more sips!

I love flavor and one session is medication!

Some vaporist have a higher setting and shoot for 2 large hits. I sip and I don't save ABV. Now whatever you like!
My flower colas are perfectly cured the way I like!

There are many factors to consider!

Now do your own thing!

Remember their is not a wrong way to vaporize!

Only a way!

Hey guys, just got this vape like a week ago. Love the vape except I just dropped it like 4 feet on concrete, seems to be working but doesn't seem like its running the same. Am I out of luck?

Thanks

Hey all! I'm new to FC but thanks to y'all I'm a happy Solo user! I have two- one for travel, one for home, although I rotate use of them willy-nilly (I usually kill the sound on the travel unit). I have plans of getting a bubbler, but right now I'm using a small scientific bong- the bent stem slides right in as if they were made together. I'm a happy camper, even with having to replace one of mine (got the battery issue 4 months into my original model)
I own another portable vape, but I was never satisfied enough with performance to give up combustion. I honestly thought that maybe I had a weird inhalation technique or was doing something wrong. Once I picked up the Solo in March, I stopped combustion cold, because the first time I set that Solo down, I was gone. Well played, Arizer.

Hey guys,
I just came here to read the comments...

Lol, just kidding, I'm here to introduce myself to this good old little grail of cordless vaping.
And possibly ask some questions in here where surely all the info in world about Solo is.

So, where am I coming from?

Like many others, I've stupidly introduced myself to vaping with portables.
Also like many others, I've got a cheap crap for the first try.
Luckily, it worked enough to show me what vaping is about, so even that crap has managed to convert me into 100% vaporist.
Knowing that the vape i was using was crap, I've upgraded.
I was still hesitant to buy any large desktop (only if I knew how much better they hit back then) so it was the Iolite.
At that time, the Iolite was probably the king of portable vaping. There were not many good portables out there especially in EU.
The Iolite was a great upgrade, the first actually decent vape.
About a year later, I've finally looked into desktops. And again there were not many choices at that time and place.
I could only choose between the 'cano, EQ and HA.
And EQ it was.
Wow, I knew I should have got that one at the beginning.
That EQ has probably served the most of any of my vapes.
Actually, this EQ is the only unit that I had never a single problem with except accesory breakage
(Cyclone bowls really love to get broken, all 3 of mine are dead by now).
The first vape crapped out completely after few months,
my Iolite has gas flow and ignition problems,
my MFLB has been replaced once because of torn screen,
my Cloud bamboo broke itself from heat and internal pressure and it's replacement EVO is glitchy and prone to overheat.
The EQ is few years old already and still works like new.
This is one of reasons I want to go for Solo. I like Arizer from my experience (even if it is just one unit).
So after the EQ i also got a MFLB and a Cloud (replaced to EVO).
Currently, I exclusively use the EVO at home and the Iolite outside.
The EVO is a beast (I'm just praying that it will survive until I get another replacement) but the Iolite is not really keeping up.
I struggle with the ignition and gas problems and when I get it to work, it's noisy, harsh and weak.

So I want a portable upgrade. Something true and tested. Something that will get at least a little closer to the desktop performance.
I thought I would just skip the Solo and wait for the upcoming vapexhale portable.
With the experience I have had so far i would predict it like this:
Waiting like 2 years until it comes out, then another year until EU version comes out and then another year to let them treat any glitches...
...no thanks. I'm just going to wait for the EVO replacement and I'm done with waiting.
The Solo has been around for a long time and I've seen most of its cons slowly resolved by model updates as time went.

So, this was the introduction, it got longer than I've expected, but knowing the story can help with answers :)
The trigger that made me order a Solo setup was the availability of 18mm PVHES GonG. That piece is next to impossible to find here.
The vapefiend is the only place I know where I could get a whole Solo setup with these.
These PVHES sell out fast as fuck and restock rarely.
So when I recently found it restocked and only one last gong in stock, I had to take it.

This is the setup i ordered:
Silver Arizer Solo M1T
+ charger
+ 2 default stems
+ screen pack
+ Ryot carry case
+ 2x mouthpiece caps
Stealth mouthpiece
PVHES 18mm turbo GonG
Polycarbonate grinder
Red JyAR

Silver Solo M1T:
I've chosen the Silver one because of
-Silver color is going to radiate the heat away more than black and also absord less radiant heat.
-I've seen the black paint come off on black Solos. I don't want to deal with this shit anymore.
-I like the looks of it.
The M1T model seems very promising.
It should have better airflow, that could be a plus since I'm coming from EQ and EVO that have little drag.
Passthrough charging - Can be a good feature...
...but I've heard it's really bad for the battery so it should be used while charging as little as possible, right?
I've also mentioned heat, but I don't have a clue how hot it actually gets.
All of my vapes get hot somewhere. Iolite on the front, EVO on the top, MFLB on the bottom, EQ on the glass. If it's actually going to be cool/warm on the whole enclosure it would be great.

Mouthpiece caps:
Has anyone tried this? On the stock photo they look just like MFLB battery caps.
They supposedly close the load in a stem for travel.
One Q I have is how long a stem taken out of the Solo takes to cooldown if I wanted to store a partially vaped load with these and not melt them? From the looks of them I assume about 1-2 minutes.

Stealth mouthpiece:
I liked the small size of it. The classic stems can look awkward.
Anyone having one of these? Can they be used alone without burning yourself?
I am accustomed to the hot output of a MFLB and Iolite, so it can be hot, I just don't want it to be really HOT.

PVHES 18mm turbo GonG:
I've got this one for compatibility with all of my vapexhale glass.
I've heard the new improved airflow model doesn't really need anymore airflow improving so the turbo option could be an overkill.
But I think that even if there was too much airflow I would just relax into pulling slower and tell others to pull slowly too.
I think it would be more comfortable to pull slowly on low-drag stem than pulling hard on restrictive stem for the same airflow.
Am I right?

Polycarbonate grinder & Red JyAR:
Well these have nothing to do with this setup they're awesome and not available anywhere else, so I added them to the order.

I also wanted to add a heat-resistant silicone ring that holds stems securely in the unit.
It was out of stock sadly...
Can I use a Volcano easy Valve sillicone ring? I think I can get one if that's the right size.

So, did I choose well?
Is this going to satisfy my portable needs and be a good portable complement to my EVO?
I really hope so, about 400$ went into this setup.

And I'm going to read this thread. But holy shit it's over 1200 pages! I thought the MFLB or EVO thread was going to be first beating 1000 pages. Well, this is not really a surprise, this thread is very old and the Solo is crazy popular.

Thanks for this thread guys!! Just ordered a Arizer Solo today (2014 model) a Pinnacle Water Tool and a 14mm GonG Adapter. Fun times, can't wait until it arrives! Looking at a Vape Case as well but it won't really leave the house that much but I guess it couldn't hurt to protect the investment. Anybody have any experience with the Vape Cases for this model or is there better options around? I like the look of it but don't like how VAPE CASE is plastered all over it, giving away the contents. I'm new to the forum and vaping in general. I'm from Australia as well which is proving costly in shipping to get a lot of this gear but I think it's worth it :) Thanks again for all the advice!

Seek, that pack looks amazing! Makes mine look terrible! haha
I would love to find an 18mm adaptor but being in Aus it was nearly impossible just to find an 14mm adapter ;) Cool story as well! One of my mates has an Iolite that he never uses now and my little bro has the original Davinci. I reckon they will blow out when they try the Solo :)

I think a tiny hydratube such as f-bomb or pnwt is probably going to fit a Solo better than "huge" 18mm vapexhale glassware.
I am also slightly craving an 18mm f-bomb that is there in stock because of this, but adding that is way out of budget. I just have to adapt it to what I have when I can.

Haha yeah, I meant for 'future expansion' because that always happens yeah? :)

The 14mm glass should be great but I'm definitely going to try it on its own for a while first so I can truly appreciate the difference.
