I really want to try a herc but SR-74 is out of stock so I am thinking of getting a persei and an SR-71. Is this a good combo? Any must have upgrades for either the Persei or SR-71? What accessories or upgrades should I get for the SR-71 off the bat?

I thought about an 8 but I want to be able to turn it off without removing the batteries.

The taste is very close to herc. If I could get cloud production locked in, it could be a poor man's herc. That's on the provari at 4.2v. Would be nice to see what a higher powered one could do

I remember @THC SCIENTIFIC saying the taste is amazing but it's not for cloud chasers. I immediately blew mine out with 7.4v on the core, but his advice to me was to load about .2 and run it at 3.9v. Never got the chance, going to get a rebuild kit and fix it soon.

ahhh yea ..... I thought it would never come out --- torch / boil in / iso -- lol

thx soooo much 4 the paper clip TIP :) ReSpECt

Try ISO soaking it then pushing the coil out with a small paperclip through the 3 air holes on the bottom. Just keep going around, poking all 3 air flow holes.
That should work it out of there slowly.
Then the rod should pull right out.

Yes the sr71/persei is a excellent combo. Make sure you purchase AW 18350x2. Two pairs is best. No upgrades needed here. Also don't forget to purchase a Ti coil for the herc sr71.

I been running the 1701 donut on the core at 4.0-4.2 volts max. Good tasty clouds. I think the trick to getting a ok cloud is the 4.0-4.2 voltage setting. But don't expect hercules clouds.

For everyone having button issues with the 8, I believe the fix for it is just a matter of tightening the little gold contact screw inside the button ALL the way down. On mine, when I took the button assembly out and tightened that little screw inside the button, it would stop when there was still a gap in between the screw and the back part of the plastic button assembly, and it looked like it should still be able to screw in until it's flush and there is no gap in between the screw and the back of the button, but it seemed like it was all the way screwed in already bcuz it got really hard to screw it in anymore. Well it wasn't all the way in!! I had to hold the button assembly really tight in one hand and actually crank on that little screw with a screwdriver until it was ALL the way in and flush and couldn't possibly go in any further. It wasn't mis-threaded or anything, but something was stopping it from screwing in all the way. And that little contact screw has to make contact with both the top and bottom gold contact pins that are in the top, at the same time when u push the button in, in order to complete the circuit and make it fire. So the further out that the gold contact screw is, the further in and harder u gotta push the button in to get it to fire!! I hope that makes sense to everyone bcuz that simple little adjustment and now mine is firing like the BEAST that it IS and was meant to be!!! And I don't hafta push on the button until my thumb is sore just to get it to fire anymore!! It's actually pretty easy to fire now!! Not so easy that it'll fire in your pocket, but not so hard that u gotta push the button until your thumb hurts. It's perfect now!! Hopefully this is the same issue that everyone else is having too, bcuz the fix is pretty simple. Hope this helps.

-Now my only issue is that my logo doesn't line up perfectly on mine!! It sucks bcuz it's messing with my OCD pretty bad too. Lol. Idk if they would switch it out for me just bcuz of mis-aligned printing/engraving tho. :-\

@THC SCIENTIFIC can you please confirm if the screw in the button assembly should be flush against the housing or if there should be a gap?

I tried everything possible, and that's the only thing that worked for me. B4 I did that, the only thing it would fire properly was my Kayfun lite plus for e-juice! Now it fires everything!! I must have did something right. Hopefully, G will concur. Lol.

Makes sense, there is a little gap in the gold contact screw which probably causing me to mash the button to get connection.
Are replacements available if we strip the button assembly?

I got the 8 with a Okeanos and not even a week has passed by and the kiss wont heat up(after second session) and it only really works if i press the button hard enough to where I feel like im going to break it. I feel like I just bought a really expensive version of the basic oil vape, I really thought it would have lasted longer.

yeah, agree with what masaki said. If you got the okeanos v2 then that thing rocks and rolls

So my persei had the button pressed down accidentally for like 5 min with the SR74 attached. The hercules is fine but my persei top has melted a small hole right beside the metal knob where the battery node touches on the persei top. I ordered it from planetvape and was wondering where i would send it to get it fixed.

edit: i am also selling a nibbler XL for 100$, ive only used it once

I was saving my order to see if the rebuild kits would come in -- I just went to finalize my 400$ order with my new herc71 so I can compare with the 74 for on the road ?

I hope I can get a lil discount since I ordered so many other lil parts n such ...... ill hold off a lil longer since

I got my SR-74 x keen n running perfect !

I mean the core - the hammer top --- and this time I have the 7.4 rod n have the placement a drop higher than normal n its getting a connection -- n its workin like never b4 --- running as low as 6.9v and its puffin tasty tasty clouds --

sometimes i forget how much of a difference it is from coils and such ! :)

I really don't think it'll strip it if you just keep screwing it in. It'll just add more threading to their threading. It seems to me that some weren't threaded deep enough and those ones u need to keep screwing it in and create your own threading after theirs stops. I'm pretty sure it'll be fine. I'm willing to bet it's supposed to be screwed all the way in anyway. Hopefully G will chime in soon with his input on it. But until then, my 8 is still working as it should now. So far so good!!

I threaded mine in all the way plus about another 1/2 turn. Should be fine to do this IMO. Did not strip or crack or anything like that.

I do believe this is the solution for the mashing button problem. I'm just trying make sure we'll have access to replacement parts if the worse happens..
