I've gotten a full load through one of mine, and most of one through the other so far, and taste is already improving I believe (an iso swab may be all it really needs I wonder). Ofcourse much more testing is needed, just wanted to pop in with that update. Be back after several more bowls have gone through, but as of now I'm already pretty blissed out to have this little guy back again....

My replacement unit is operating as advertised. I have been abled to do at least 8 full sessions on a charge..and, can vspe same load for two sessions. The taste is excellent, but I drilled out the mouthpiece.

I am thinking I will drill out the scouper inside the mouth piece. That tube does nothing for me and air flow would improve without it, me thinks. Anyone done this?

I had my Indica out and about today running errands visiting a friend that's been having some difficulty with MS. I've been trying to get her to consider trying cannabis. She was excited about the Indica. She has problems off and on. She takes very good care of herself. I told her that I was going to do some research as to the best mmj for her condition. I thought that cannabis would help relax her muscles.

I don't want to pressure anybody into trying cannabis. I told her that it might be worth giving it a try. I told her that I would let her borrow the Indica if she wanted. It's up to her, I really care and want only what's best for her.

She couldn't believe that such a cute little piece of equipment was used to vaporize with. I really think that the Indica has appeal to women because of the cuteness factor. I told her it's not only cute but a very good medical device to have when the need arises.

I also think vaporizing has an appeal to women I've noticed. I don't particularly like the Pax but women like the looks of it. The looks will get somebody's attention. The flavor will win them over.
The Indica has the looks as well as the flavor. Depending on the durability in the long run, will get the customers to come back.

While breaking in the units, I had forgotten how harsh conduction vapor can be (felt the same way when I got my Solo back from warranty), so I thought I'd try a gong rig out for myself finally:
sNJsn3Q.jpg

Vinyl tubing from the hardware store to connect to the 18mm male to male adapter. I have no idea what grade it is though, they didn't have silicone. At least the initial test yielded huge hits on just green...

Meanwhile I'm still working on the taste. Got an ISO swab in each onr last night, but the flavor still isn't quite perfect I think, though I'm not entirely positive so its still too early for a verdict since it may keep improving. Its unfortunate I cannot compare it to my original directly, but to the best of my recollection neither one seems quite as pure tasting as of now. Ofcourse theres still much more testing to do!

Bad news. My vaporizer started making a hissing sound like the battery was relieving pressure. Pretty scary while you're vaporizing. I'm not saying it was the battery, but other than liquid hitting a hot metal I don't know how to explain it. Either way it's concerning. I've emailed michael. This was the beta v2.1.

Edit: I'm dumb.

Finally getting my sense of smell/taste back! I promise I'll write up a full review/opinions soon. But for now I wanted to say I fucking love how portable this vape is!

I'd never carry my Ascent because it's huge, and too big for my pocket (If something doesn't fit into my pocket with my wallet, keys, and phone, it doesn't come!). But the Indica fit's great! I've been literally taking it everywhere with me

Cant wait for your review, Ratchett. I'am curious about the metal taste that a few people seems to have with this V2.
What others portables vapes do you have/like ?

I have planned to buy the Black V2 on the 16th, but the Alfa vaporiser (from Goboof) is launched the 13th, so now i'm hesitate ......

I've got a Lotus and an Ascent, but my review will mainly focus on the Indica vs the Ascent since the Lotus is a butane powered beast. It'd be unfair to put them into the same category.

General rule of thumb I've learned from my time on this site is to avoid the initial release of any vaporizer, unless you're a glutton for punishment and want to experience warranty repairs/replacements due to defective parts. Some manufacturers like Indica went through extensive testing before releasing the product to market. Not all companies have the same dedication (Just read the early reviews of the Ascent - there were TONS of issues, many of which have been resolved).

So I think I have found the solution to my draw technique. Drill out the mouthpiece with a 3/32 bit, as suggested by Vape Dr., and then invert it. Basically stick the previous draw hole on the draw line and suck through the bottom of the mouthpiece. I'm getting much, much more vapor than using it regularly.

How did you invert the mouthpiece? Got a pic?

So the other day I did a comparison review between my 2 favorite "portable" vaporizers.
The Indica and the Arizer SOLO.
Here are the results.

:leaf:Indica vs SOLO comparison review:leaf:

So I started this review the only fair way I could think of.
The Indica and SOLO on temps 2-5
The Indica has a drilled out mouth piece & the SOLO has a 14mm turbo gong for the mouth piece (personal preference).

Size comparison.

Side view

Lets get this started quick and easy.
I went from 2-5 on each vaporizer taking 8 hits per temp with 1-2 cool down hits.
I packed equal amounts in each unit, .22grams.
Now to see how my favorite 2 portables stack up against each other.

Indica- For size and portability
Indica- For stealth
SOLO- Each one tastes awesome!. SOLO had the edge at the higher temps, which were lower than Indica.
Indica- Heat up time (half the time of the SOLO)
SOLO- Thicker vapor (Not by too much, but more.) Indicas vapor increased, SOLO remained consistent.
SOLO- Felt easier to draw from
Indica- Could stay on #3 & #4 for much longer than I tested, also taste did not diminish as much.
Indica- More durable. The SOLO chips very easily on the bottom near screws.
Tie- Convenience. Both vaporizers are awesome units feel good & are easy to use.
Tie- Both units can be used while charging.
Indica- Standard mini USB. SOLO has a special cable. With SOLOs car charger, both can be charged in car.
SOLO- Has ability to use a water tool. (Indica has not released a water tool yet).
Tie- After a session to fully charge. Maybe the Indica was a bit quicker, but close enough to call a tie.
Indica- Customer service. Hands down the best around. You can't get in contact with a human at Arizer.
SOLO- Lighter ABV

Indica: 7 wins
SOLO: 5 wins
Ties: 3 ties

As you can see both compared surprisingly well against each other.
I am not being bias.
As I said these are 2 of my favorite "portable" vaporizers.

IMO I don't consider the SOLO a portable when matched against the Indica. As portable as the SOLO may be, IMO it just isn't practically portable comparatively speaking.

The SOLO is tried and true and I've owned several and have always had a soft spot for them.

The Indica is one hell of a durable small portable unit that you barely notice in your pocket, where as the SOLO is like a flashlight in your pocket.

The SOLO does have a better variety of settings because of the 2 extra over the Indica, I find I enjoy the Indica most on settings 2-4.

What this review boils down to is which portable is a better portable IMO.

The winner is the Indica, being a conduction based vape the Indica is a trooper and will not disappoint in taste or vapor production.

The SOLOs ABV was lighter after the sessions

So IMO the Indica and the SOLO are both great vapes. You can't go wrong with either.

However if your looking for the stealthiest of the 2 units, the Indica takes the cake.
It is very small and produces surprising taste and vapor for its size.

These are all my personal opinions.

I love both the Indica and the SOLO.
They both have their place in my collection.
By far my favorite grab and go portable is the Indica.

Along with the fact that Indica is constantly innovating, while Arizer has only improved the SOLO by allowing you to charge it while you use it while that has been standard on the Indica from day 1.

My biggest plus from Indica is customer service. I can not stress enough how fantastic the CS really is.
I have yet to talk to any one from arizer.

I know Indica has many more great improvements in store for us which I can't wait to see, they are constantly innovating!

Thank you for taking the time to read my review of my favorite 2 portable vapes.

I hope this comparison was helpful.

Thanks @Vape Dr. For your review. I enjoyed everybody's MacGyvored PonGs. If a PonG or GonG isn't made available by Indica, maybe @Ed's TnT can come up with something?

I like the higher temps with the Solo too. The higher temps with the Indica burns my throat. If I had a WonG or GonG that would diffuse the vaper.

I agree the Indica is much more stealth than the Solo. It's nice to have a variety of vapes to choose from.

Blue 358F seems to be my go to temp for flavor and comfort.

I've never experienced a metal taste.

The sound of vapor
The cosmetics of the Black outer encasement is scheduled to be released world wide on October 16th. UK will receive a high bred version of a Stainless Steel version in less than 2 weeks. The inner working components, insulation, programming, battery life and vapor out put will be exactly the same as the "v2" being released later in October. The mid October unit will have additional components and storage features to be mentioned at a later date. Keep in mind that the October release will also cost more due to the added value but will be considerably LESS in price than the pax.

Any more teaser on these additional parts and storage features as we approach mid-October please?

Interesting after all that. Anyways I decided against the PAX and decided on the Indica, really wanting the black one and emailed Vapefiend and got a reply saying they won't be stocking it until at least after Christmas :(

Awww please Santa don't come after Xmas.

I've been holding on buying an Indica for quite a few months now (which is difficult!) and I don't want to buy the current new version if one with more features is coming out soon; but at the same time I don't want to wait until 2015 (I'm already doing that for a pen that is testing my zenitude), so please pretty please tell us Vapefiend has been super cautious with the date they mentioned and that they'll be having this mid-october with new feature version soon (or force them to do so!!).

Hi K, Just FYI, the current version Stainless Silver units that Vapefiend carries is exactly the same as the Black, if you were color blind:) We intent to add accessories but these dates have not been cut into stone and tools are still in the making. When these add on are market ready, they will be available to Vapefiend for resale.

In the mean time, to make you a promise with date would be unfair in that I ruely lack a specific date to share. Let me assure you that Vapefiend and I have extremely open lines of communications. We'll be working closely in the months to come.

Does Vapefiend have any FC discount codes? British Pound is so expensive…

Vapefiend is listing the Indica @ 145. Considering this is Indica'a first entry into the UK, I would say this is a very good price. I'm sure the company will take care of you well. Email or call them directly. I find the company extremely easy to work with and would hope you have the same experience.
