I tried eating ABV raw and in recipes, and it's just not for me.

I would probably only do this if I needed the medicinal benefit, or had to be extra efficient.

I just save mine up during the day and roast it to a dark brown with my Solo. Then back to the Earth it goes...

If the FF is your only vape, then I'd put an extra screen on top to make a little extra heat and just finish it off as far as you can. Unless you need the "body stuff" effects, you'll find there's not much left after a good FF roast except the stuff above 400 F, which is plenty, but not for me.

No, I don't find anything of interest above 390 or so, but if you do, you might want a second vape to augment the FF? Or just suck it up and learn to like the taste of ABV...

I find the FF / Solo to be a good team.

Firefly fits pretty cozily in a ryot headcase, even have room for a pipe tool and battery in there

Just ordered one of these myself; I'll let you know how it works out!

Rumors of fakes?

I have never heard of any FF fakes, yet, anyway. Seems like a tough device to counterfeit effectively, but I never underestimate the ingenuity of dishonest people.

I agree that the extra screen method allows you to extract almost everything useful. Even using a high temp device like the Solo or the INH, I'm only able to get like one or two good hits from about three FF abv bowls combined. Usually my FF abv gets tossed...it's way too dark to be useful.

I would like to see fully spent ABV from a FF put into maybe an Herbalizer or Volcano at max temp. and then start that fan up and see what kind of bag it makes.

I emailed RYOT yesterday regarding the absence of the GRAY coloured Ryot HeadCase.. They replied saying that it's in stock now! :) I'm going to grab one for myself also when my next pay comes in! How gorgeous are they!?

So what does everyone do with their ABV weed? A buddy of mine told me he just puts his on a sandwich then eats it to get high.

LOL

regretful edit: Ryot do not ship to Australia.. :(

relieved 2nd edit: They are thankfully sold at Australianvaporizers.com.au  no need to cry!

I know you cannot put waxes and stuff in your firefly. Has anybody tried a little hash though, maybe sandwiched in between some herb? I bet the taste would be awesome but I don't want to ruin this great tool.

It's fine. I put straight hash in and it even vaped it perfectly.

Are you using hash with the normal firefly screen? Do you find the hash clogs the air path more or less quickly than herb does? *curiosity piqued*

It's a very oily, yet solid ball of hash.
I actually just put it straight ontop of the firefly screen, torn apart a bit so that there were roughly 4-5 small pieces of hash spread around inside the bowl.
I then just vaped at med-low temp for a few minutes and I didn't find that it left any residue or clogged anything up. Nothing seemed to seep DOWN into the device. All of the vaporizables were vaporized, and the plant matter remaining was just left as a dusty, flakey black crisp at the bottom :)
Basically it was as if I had vaped a few small bits of leaves and trimming of a bud. A second screen wouldn't hurt for next time, and packing the hash amongst a bed of herbs would be ideal!
I was struggling to sleep and the hash and Firefly were within arms reach so I did what I had to do, no regrets! haha

In the end though, it depends on the quality of your hash.. I was aware that mine contained a small amount of gritty, minor traces of plant matter. I knew it would not MELT so thankfully I was in the clear, but i'm sure a better quality hash could have potential to damage the device. You don't know until you go !

Firefly warranty ??
Hi, I'm considering buying a new Firefly that someone received as a gift and doesn't need.
They have all the packaging but no receipt.
1.Does it come with a warranty card to send in? If so. I might be ok
2. If it's not registered via a warranty card, I assume one needs a receipt
in case of a warranty issue, correct?

Missing out on their 5 year warranty would suck though--just in case something went wrong.
Thanks

Vape swap shop
Namaste have not had stock of the firefly for a while.

I spoke to Ashley via online chat. They told me they are not a authorised reselller so at the moment can no longer offer the firefly. It seems that there "other source" has dried up.

If I was to take a guess I would say they were buying in bulk from a US vendor and importing to the UK. Guess firefly did not like that once they found out.

Shame because I really wanted one, and I am in the UK.

I do not believe the warranty is transferable. As far as the warranty goes this does not look good.
As long as you say that you received the FF as a "gift" then you will have no issues regarding warranty. I talked with FF customer service about this, you have to gift it to someone...just charging a gifting fee and keep that between you and the buyer. You will need the receipt from the purchase..this can be done easily if the buyer bought it direct from FF...when you create an account there it keeps a history of your purchase and copies of your invoice.

Firstly, would like to say thank you for the diverse information found on this forum. Been lurking for the past month and finally bought and received my first vaporiser. Yes, the grey FF!! Only suggestion is to start having an international distribution. It's voyage to Central America was not easy and I was afraid to receive a DOA unit. I truly hope it will last for years :-) Have it since 1 week and all is working to my expectations. Note: 2 batteries and ext. charge are a must!

My story and experience in short and hope this will help others in their decision making:
Stopped smoking cigs 9 years ago but was still enjoying my "life companion" through combustion. Tried different transportation vehicles such as ghee and alcohol but control was difficult complicating the end result I was seeking. I like the herb to be absorbed by the lungs since the experience fits my need.

At first, I was not sure what to think about any vaporizer and the result but since I had my first lung issue (not related to the actual act of smoking), I suddenly felt that I am mortal after all ;-) I finally reached the stage of being ready for that change. So I decided to say adios to fckng combustion and read about vaporisers online. Looking at all the comments on FC, the FF checked all my boxes. I wanted an apparatus that is used for my personal enjoyment and that could travel with me.

I found it, love it and already feel the lung improvements. The Firefly is really awesome!

As a first time user of a vaporizer: It's amazing that even without smoke you still get the result. The efficiency results in savings! I found my new ritual with FF!

Thank you.

So how do I take the screen out from the bottom to clean my firefly? Any good tips on removing it?

From what I've heard I really like this vape, shame it's only available in the USA. Are there any UK retailers that have them in stock?

Also, for anyone in the US or Canada that's looking to purchase this, here is early Christmas with a 20% off discount code. "SURVEY2014" ;) (on the official website)

Thanks for the reminder. Yes, take that survey and you get sent a 20% off code sent in email. I think it's only good till the end of the month, at least mine is. Anyone waiting for that rare FF discount, now's your chance....

Yeah, I did that the other day. Was a little disappointed that it only lasts until the end of the month. What the hell am I going to need to buy before the end of October?

Nice to see though. Hopefully this will help some folks who have been on the fence with the FF...

Been using mine for almost 10 months now and it is still my favorite portable, and it looks to stay that way for the foreseeable future...

The flavor, the speed, the convenience, the elegance... I fucking love this thing.

Very much looking forward to what this company does in the future.
