Hey guys, I was just wandering what you're opinions are on a vape that I could use in public. One rule, it must be pocketable. I currently own an Arizer Solo and it works fantastically, but I have to take my bag and worry about dropping the glass stems if I ever want to go anywhere with it.

I was looking at the Pax, Firewood, Firefly, Elevape and Indica. I liked the look of the firefly but constant stirring isn't exactly great for public use, and would get annoying. I'm mostly torn between the Pax and Indica. Apparently the Indica is better, but doesn't sucking on an oversized Zippo seems a bit suspicious? The Pax could easily pass of as a fancy e-cig. The Elevape looks like it's still having issues with the software, so that's not exactly helping.

Does anyone have any tips? Thanks guys!

From what I have read, the Pax is the smelliest of all the portables that you mentioned and that could be an issue for public use.

Strictly from a small form factor and a vape that really limits the smell, I'd throw the MFLB into that mix.

I've tried the Pax, and just got an indica last week.

Between those two, here's my take
The pax is smaller, long warranty, but requires religious cleaning to ensure it works. Without cleaning frequently, it will die prematurely. Taste is a bit harsher with the pax.

The Indica is a bit larger, smoother hitting, better taste in my opinion. And it requires much less maintenance (Really the only thing you need to do is shove a pipe cleaner down the vapor path every 5-10 sessions). Plus the Micro-USB means you can charge it with any number of devices (including power-banks with over 1.5amp output).

Yes, I'm not a big fan of the Indica vape's design, but the new version in matte black should help (coming out later this month). To be honest, my medium sized hands conceal the Indica perfectly. If I'm REALLY conscious about the lid, I extend my middle and pointer finger over the lid to cover most of that (Kinda looks like you're pretending your hand is a gun). With that grip, you can't even see the Indica at all.

With my Davinci Ascent, I was too afraid to vape in public. But my Indica now goes everywhere with me (fits nicely into the pocket, pre-loaded and ready to go!). I now take long walks around the neighborhood during work and have had no problems or looks from other people (though I usually flip the lid closed when walking past people)

MFLB is the only vape that can be concealed in one hand while you use it.

I mean, if you have large hands maybe the PAX would work, but MFLB is small enough for nearly everyone to be able to hide it.

I heard that too, which does kinda put me off. Also I looked at the LB but it seems too fiddley, with the box itself, the battery(ies), and glass stem. I'm looking for something I can just take out my pocket and use as-is.

[...] requires religious cleaning to ensure it works. [...]

Yeh, that's another thing, I'm used to the Solo's minimum-cleaning-necessary lifestyle. I can't bring myself to actually clean something after a decent session! Also the Indica's micro-usb charger is very good because if needed, I have a spare portable charger for my phone which uses the same socket. Also I didn't know about a matte-black Indica... That's something I wish I knew before, thanks! Now I have to find it in the UK somewhere haha.

Thanks for your help guys. I'll check back again tomorrow :)

I have used the imag plus and the Inhalater in more than a few public settings. They are both similar in size to some Ecigs on the market so it seemed as though they were completely undetected by anyone in my surroundings.

Yes. If you want a vape you can use while people are, or may be, looking at you, good luck with that. If you're walking down the street, taking an occasional hit, quite a few models may work for you, since vapes are still mostly foreign to the general public, and nobody's likely to follow you to ask what you're doing. You can also hide some models in a drink cup. Stealthy vaping is as much common sense and nonchalance as it is being able to hide your vape. Don't give people enough time to stare at you and ask themselves what you're sucking on and why.

A pen style vape that can disguise as an e-cig can work, but watch out for e-cig users who want to know what brand you're using. ;)

I'm gonna vote for the MFLB too for ground flowers. You can take micro hits to cut down on smell. IMO, though, the most stealthy option is a concentrate pen, if you have access to concentrates.

Just How "Public" are the places you wanna vape in ? I mean really you can walk around the block here in a suburban subdivision with my giant old NO2 in a cover for a water bottle with no one being the wiser but if you stop and sit at The park hitting the no2 you become a bit more obvious.

But then again if your sitting hitting a pax or MFlb or indica I'm still gonna pick you out in a crowd Just because after 40 + years using mj I'm observant and intuative that way.

Confidence and how you carry and present yourself (along with not being stupid) while vaping or smoking in public is more important then just the size of the vaporizer.

The Elevape SV is still too new to be a safe bet... I know mine has a couple issues. But it's by far the stealthiest vape I've ever used. All you need is a moment here and there to stir it. Doesn't take long, and hasn't caused me any problems. It has opened up public vaping doors for me that were certainly unavailabe before. But... it's a risky option. I bought one mostly out of curiosity, and it has worked out well... for now.

MFLB is the only vape that can be concealed in one hand while you use it.

Not so. I can do this with my ESV.

I actually have been using my ESV while strangers are looking at me and even sitting or standing close to me. Probably not smart, but it's for progress, right? :brow: The hits I can get are so light, and so quick, so instant convection, and the ESV looks so basic, that no one pays me any mind. It's even easier when I'm walking around, but I have no qualms at this point using the ESV anywhere at anytime outdoors. Hell, even indoors in most places.

IMO, the ESV is the stealthiest portable vape on the market right now. Unfortunately, it's got a couple bugs to work out... but I'm still very glad I have it.

I've used the Palm 2.0 in public. Very stealthy! Just my :2c:

Here it is, next to an MFLB for comparison.

I purchased the vapormax flowermate for this exact reason and its a great success. A pair of cops looked right at me while using it. It easily passes as a box mod e cig

with that being said, I never use my portables anymore, having access to a wide variety of cheap quality concentrates

The Solo can be quite stealth. Nobody paid any attention. I had a insulated band around the Solo so it wouldn't rattle around inside. It worked like a charm.

If you have access to waxes you could use a vape pen. Folks would think its an ecig.

Around these parts I believe a Cop would come and check out a "box mod ecig" as fast as they would a solo.

Since Neither are common here both may raise the same questions from police.

The Ascent is pretty good. It looks like a smartphone, but my all time favorite for public use is the mflb. It's quick, tiny, and doesn't smell very much. And it doesn't continue to cook your herb when you stop hitting it. I'd hit it native in public rather than through the stem.

Yeah, the Imag Plus is a Chinese pen style vape for herbs that actually works.

It's not gonna be your daily driver, but it looks like a large e-cig mod, and fits the stealth requirements. And it performs pretty well.

The MP is a bit tricky to clean, but FC is working on it, so it's soon to be fixed

I have the Indica V2 Beta portable I've walked around and have vaped with it. It doesn't put out as much smell like most vapes. I just closed it up while walking past folks on the trail and it still stays on. The black is pretty stealth. I have small hands and it fits inside my hand without being obvious.

It gives the herb a very nice vapor flavor and also has spacers so you can tailor your sessions. If you use 2 spacers it uses just a tiny bit of product. The upgraded units will be out mid Oct. A very attractive vaporizer and seems to be built sturdy.

Whether you are a medical patient or a recreation user the Indica is worth a look.

The Pax is pretty stealthy. People go on a lot about the smell, but guess what, if you are cooking premium flowers, they are going to stink up the area in whatever device you use to heat them. Just my 2 cents.

Ever tried the Indica? Flip the lid shut and it's damn near smell proof (I sure as hell can't find any odors with the door shut, even while still cooking - *maybe* near the oven, but I really can't smell anything if I try)
