Just really watch the temps in the material as opposed to what the heat source is...temp of solution much more important. While I'm evaporating mine, I am constantly checking the temp of the solution and adjusting accordingly. So my solution is always around 105*F (I had been doing it around 95* but have decided to raise that just a little).
Also, don't forget, gentle swirls...let the solvent do the work.

I just got my screens from 316T...looking forward to no more coffee filters :D

To add my :2c: I agree with crazy. Also I'd say eliminate the coffee filter all together if u have ur 10 micron. If ur trying to separate the bud n solution quick by using the coffee filter, I'd try using a ladle or big spoon or something instead of the filter. I feel n I could be wrong, that the filters are like a sponge n soak shit up taking away from your product. That's my opinion. Also in ur evap idk if u use a fan by try that also it works for me.

Gentle swirl, 2 minute total, more chopped and fan. Monday is round 2.
Considered 15 sec first wash but want to see Swiss cheese first. Got to save something for round 3.

they most certainly are! it is always a good idea to prewet filters with the solvent passing through to aid in buildup prevention... think of prewetting with clean solvent like greasing the wheels. even ss will benefit from prewetting.

I am of a mind I want maximum single pass extraction! so imay grab some finally and see what I can do....

I have intention to try a blasting type technique to minimize solvent use.

I have refined my blasting technique. I am getting +/-25% return on my runs. I'm only using about 1/2 of a can of tane. I have saved the material from several runs. BUT how much can be left in there with such high single run returns?

about the only thing I think I do different than you is how I pack... due to a diffrence in tubes. id love to see how your packing (youve described it to me in some thread before) I cant remember where.

no worries.

anyways I was just curious... it would be easier to winterize in alcohol for pen vape purposes, but I can just as easily extract with one and winterize with the other.

I pack the tube rather tightly. Using a bamboo stick about 1/4" square. Any empty space in the tube is filled with glass marbles.

at 25 % thats just gr8 ! I assume that is with just taNe? r u still using the KLEEN extraction at all with success ?

I ran some Oregon Train Wreck using KX tonight. I only had 6g left after my tane run. I got 3G of crumble from the Tane run with 12g. 25% return. We will see how the KX fares. It looks green in its liquid state. I soaked for 4-5 minutes swirling after the first 2. Forgot the timer so the last one was long. Was gonna do 3 minutes. Poured off into a strainer which poured into my 10 micron "bowl". Pictures to follow...

That's sounds basically like the same tek as me so I'm very interested in ur return.... If it over 20 then I'm convinced it's the starting material. I thought mine was some of the best if that's the case urs is unbelievable!! So did u freeze both before ur wash? Also how small did u break it up?

ps -- the product came and needed a signiture -- but it came about half empty --the rest was spilt in box -- by discoloration n smell / i think ups guy didn't have upright ??--
but regardless the company has been very kind every step n now will hook me up on next order --
hoping for nice results with this -- it would be nice ... ---

Same exact thing happen to me and I also received great CS and also will be getting hooked up on my next purchase.

It looks good. I have to weigh the results. The butane extraction that I did from the same strain was a dark amber and the KX results are dark amber also. I started with 6 g.

Nice, I'll be waiting lol also how many runs of tane and KX do u do? If more than one do u combine them? What kinda tane do u use? I tried Power 5x and now I'm trying Newport. I like Power cuz of the metal tip and the Newport is plastic. This is irrelevant to KX but I tried to do a run with Newport and it was a disaster lol tane everywhere I don't think any really went thru cuz nothing came out lol but I cut the tip smaller and used a differ adapter and blasted it. I'll post results on another thread

i wanna do KX and EC runs side by side to see if there is any difference.

i find it hard to order KX when i can get 190 proof EC locally at just about any grocery or liquor store. prices are about the same. if the dif are minimal to none then it makes no sense for me to order KX and risk it spilling en route.

30 grams in 6 out. 3 washes. All black almost onyx like. Choco was choco and Butter was said same. Lot's of taste. I am not sure if this is for me as I am the worlds laziest man. I wish I had measured Kleen as I thought it was short. (IMHO) No evidence, just a feeling at the time.

frankly a little vacuum purge after everclear evaporated pretty much makes the kx unnecessary... cause you can just pull the moisture out of the extract... @NickDlow I believe has experience with this as well...

maybe he can chime in on kx and moisture vacuuming.

IMO I will be vacume purging ALL extracts. I stated before I had a bit of a sizzle with no vac purge, idk if it's air, water, or solvent but a cold (no heat added) vac purge solved it.

Also thanks @farscaper i just ordered 3 cans off their site. They are advertising pure n-butane with no additives. Is that the same BS as 10x refined in others words just a dumb labels?

The n-butane is in "quotations" so I'm thinking its Bologna
