Considering an upgrade - opinions welcome!

Hi there all.

I've owned a Smart vaporizer by Rad for a few months now (it looks like this -> http://www.everyonedoesit.com/img/products/Smart-Portable-Vaporizer-by-Rad-f.jpg). I think this is a pinnacle pro clone, and is relatively cheap (around £80). I haven't been able to find any reviews on it, and I haven't tried any other vapes so I'm not sure how it compares. However, I really do like it.

I'm considering upgrading to a Solo, but only if there will be a definite increase in quality. So my question is - will it be worth it? Will upgrading to a solo knock my little socks off?

One thing in particular is that the vapour from the Smart can feel pretty hot - is this an issue with the solo?

I feel there is a definite increase in quality. There actually is no doubt that there will be. I don't know about knocking your socks off but it is far better than the Titan and should satisfy you unless you need ultra quick extraction.

I can find the Solo to be pretty harsh I imagine it to be less than the Titan and the airpath is longer. The Solo doesn't get too warm only the stems really get hot enough to care about. I have yet to find one vape that is harsh at times.

I can't speak for the vape you are using but I currently use a pinnacle pro and have owned a solo in the past. After trying both vapes I would say save your money because the only real difference is going to be the taste. Unless you really just want to spend £135 for the hell of it!

If a vaporizer taste harsh, turn the temp down - if you are able. Check out the Solo thread, there's 1200 pages. Just read up on the last 20 or 25 pages. A sometimes entertaining read. The issues that are discussed over and over again, just skip over.

There's a lot of good vaporizers out there. You just need to read through the forum. It all depends on what you are looking for and your particular situation. There are desktop vaporizers and portables. It's always good to have both.

There's all kinds of knock offs out there. When you find a vaporizer that you want to buy check out the vendors on this site. Make sure you go with an authorized seller. You never know when you need to send one back for warranty.

I have a Pinnacle Pro and a Solo. The Solo wins hands down. There will be a new Pinnacle Pro coming out in 6 months down the road. I would wait to get one then.

Use what you have for now unless you have money to splash around. There is always better if you know what you want, but if you are just going from one price range to another and expecting an increase in quality you may be taking a risk. It all comes down to preference.
I'm sure a Solo would perform better than a knock-off, but your knock-off looks awesome and as you said; it works!
Unless the harsh vape is physically irritating you and runing your sesh then upgrade, but otherwise just make it work and put the money aside so that when you DO upgrade it will be an informed decision

As mentioned previously, the taste and flavor will be superior in the Solo and it also lasts longer.
Is it a huge difference? Not really but it is noticeable.

I agree with others comments about saving up and getting a vape in the next level up possible?
Maybe the FireFly or EleVape smart vape? They have been on my radar for a while now...

At the end of the day you will enjoy the Solo as much as your Rad, possibly more.
A good suggestion is to try a friends if they have one before you buy!

If you realllly have the money put aside for a proper vape, the firefly is a beast It truly feels like top-of-the-range craftsmanship and performance. Highly recommend it
If it ever breaks i'll be getting a solo though

The Solo is a no-brainer, IMO. It's one of the best values in vaporizers: frugal with herb, good battery life, nice flavor, reliable, 7 temp options, and easy to use and share. Few if any portables in that price range can match it.

I just mentioned this on the Titan-1 thread, but I think I'm going to go for the Solo and use my little Rad as a backup/super portable option. There is one main reason for this, and that is I'm not confident that the Rad isn't filling my lungs with toxic fumes each time I use it (if you don't know what I'm talking about, head over to the Titan-1 thread in the Portable Vapes section). Maybe I'm just being paranoid about this (I'm not usually a paranoid guy), but hell, you can't put a price on health, right?
