No matter how I adjust the center pin, I still get weak hits from my 8 top. But I put the same cart and battery on my double top, and it hits much better.
However, that being said, I still can't seem to get the kiss globe coil glowing hot, even if I try.
Kinda confused... medicated, and confused. I've never had so much problem with a w9 cart of any kind.
The KISS Globe takes quite a bit to get it that hot. Have you adjusted the center pin so that the globe housing no longer sits flush with the top? I started there and then adjusted it down until a hair up from flush when just snug, then tighten the center pin.. A bit more turn and it's flush. Also wondering if your globe coil is flooded. I had loaded too much, and it took even longer to heat up. Try also mashing the button at slightly different angles. After taking apart and reassembling mine, it works great.

Two causes. Bottom center is not properly seated, and the gold plated disc inside the button is not tightened down. Also the 8 required the button pushed in hard. This is a safety design so that it doesn't easily fire in your pocket.

Bluelite yup.. Push the button ALL the way in :) It doesn't fire at the top of it's travel like the Persei. All the way down is where it makes contact.

What's "wrong" with the adjustable top pin design on the 8?

Makes me wonder where have you been all my life.

I dunno if size is a problem in the pants but it could be a good ice breaker for women. Just saying many ways to interpret it.

Also the 3.7v takes a bit of time to heat up yes but @Mynameismud was a master of getting clouds with it.

Also the 7.4v should reduce heat up times on it dramatically.

Think of the Herc as the ultimate cartridge, it's only con is cool down and for some size.

You just have to have an open mind and be willing to change your technique you are used to with the Cera as they are totally two different beasts.
Oh yeah 3.7V herc on a shorty tube for the win:rockon:...doesn't beat the sr71 white rod on the iris but for those without it's the tastiest way to get your oil!!!

@notoriousLrg
Sr71/74 pros- large capacity, user serviceable, built like a tank. Works with all oils that aren't thin or runny
Cons- size

Kiss is more like those generic wax pens with upgraded parts and quality materials. Also rebuild able but max capacity is .1

No experience with the old carts

I don't think anything is wrong. I believe people want a button where u don't have to push hard. Not everyone but I would like that option.

Much appreciated. I'm now sold on the w9 product line and sr74, thanks to FC. Now its just a matter of sucking up as much info as I can to help me decide whether I opt for Persei or the 8, given my limited technical knowledge. I started my review at Post 900 - with all of the improvements to the w9 product line, anything before 900 seems old news :D.

The good news is that I'll have time to get to know the SR74 without rush cuz my cera EO is still kicking.

people who have an 8 and a persei: how do you decide what to run on what where?

thinking im gonna keep my persei on a shorty hooked up to my core at home, then use my 8 shorty for on the go daily driving

also, is the KISS still the only thing you can put in the okeanos? or will one of the globe heaters fit?

CORE:
Hammer top on an 18350 insert for the Bender
V2 top on std. insert for the SR-71 (Eventually I'll have to get another shorty insert and Nibbler XL for my home setup)

Batteries:
V2+SR-74+Nibbler XL with 2 AW 18350's- I use this one more than any other. Take it everywhere and another pair of batteries

8 so far is my go to e cig. Soon to try experimenting with 510 drip atomizers. Pairs with the Globe well on the mini tube too. I prefer bringing 2 devices one oil one ecig.

BUT. I've also been playing around with the 8 top on the Core with the -71. Pretty sweet.

I believe the v4 tops are going to have a touch sensor for that option.
Yes looking forward to that. However the v4 top will be electrical circuit board top. The ultimate is the apocalypse survival mechanical top. Fully serviceable at home. I would like a easier firing button. Like a button that fires about halfway in through its travel range. I understand that safety will be compromised but I would gladly trade off. I always have my herc and power supply separate during travel. Nothing wrong with the current 8 button operation. User preference I guess. Am I alone with this ?? Lol

The change we will test won't make it that easy to fire, there is so much space inside the 8 that we can work with, improvement I would say about 20%

I will gladly take 20% !! Big improvement when talking about button travel. Thank you G, don't meAn to sound picky. The 8 is the ultimate !

Mods:sorry about the double post. I just realized this.

So for someone who is not an e-cig user and most likely will only ever use w9 carts in the vape, does it make sense to get the 8, especially seeing that it is in its first incarnation ?

I know its been said before but i cant recall whats the ohms supposed to be for the 74 and the 71...

Im using a 74 w 7.4 rod and im getting around 2.4 ohms .. is that good???

the taste is amazing!!!!!
Tomorrow morning for Wake & Vake it's crumbled wax in a SR74.
I'm out of flower I like even though I have many units of flower. I don't like them very much! On the other hand I have honeycomb crumbled wax that is DANK. SR74 "F"-you. Tomorrow your working!
Without OHM readings!
