MiniVAP Vaporizer

Baskets, screens, cones, covers, my question is exactly how many pieces of paraphernalia does one have to futz with to get high, like to change out a bowl of herb with the minivap? Also cleaning/maintenance?

It takes me about 15 seconds to load the wire basket and snap it into the flexicone, which already has a screen snapped into it. Then there are two options:
1. like the picture below, invert the module and set in bubbler. Place inverted mVAP onto basket-enjoy.
2. place module into mVAP cover with flexicone nipple protruding, screw on cover, snap on whip tube or hard mouthpiece-enjoy

To switch between direct draw and water piece-- 10 seconds.
super easy, super versatile, super tastey

I can't imagine a cleaner apparatus. Using the wire basket method for 6 months--just alcohol swabbed the heating chamber---nothing on swab--no discoloration.
Soaked the flexicone/ basket/screen module in ISO---- a tiny amount of junk dislodged.

I've never had any particles get past that screen in the flexicone (IMO, it's impossible:mental:) The Minivap takes me the same amount of time to load and unload as the solo. It is one of the most clean and flavorful, not to mention well built, vapes that I own.:D I can see why many members either have 2 Minivaps or are contemplating getting their second. That says it all right there!

Why would you need a third one, is the product lifespan that short?
It's quick too load, sure, it does take a longer time than my two other vapes to heat, but that's not the point.
Has any had any trace colour/discolouring left on the inside of the flexi cone tube? I've seen this mentioned multiple times - usually dismissed and equated to oil residue left in neck of the volcano bag. Minivap explained to me this was the same residue left on the volcano bag as well - but the deposit on the earbud is definitely loose, hence having carried up.
To reiterate - using flexicone (this due to rapid overheating of the short hard tube, explained by minivap as me having the temp too high - never higher than green), with basket filled with varying grinds to test, with screen snapped perfectly in place.

I've not found any substance or material left in the basket - always completely clean, but definite discolouring in the tube (minivap are aware this happens to the device, reasoning compared to volcano bag residue).
I will explore the bubbler option, as I can see this is the only way to really filter. I would have jumped on that option in my teens rather than bongs, buckets, hot knives through broken wine bottles etc :-)

The flexicone is not the silicone tubing that you can use as an alternative for the short mouthpiece!

The flecicone goes inside the machine and on its tip you either connect the short hard mouthpiece or the silicone tubing....

I really have no idea what you are doing differently then all the others, but pieces of bud coming trough a screen with the very small openings you are supposed to use just does not make sense...I mean they do not shrink and expand again once they moved past the screen...

Really hope you can work it out, if it works as advertised it is a joy to use...:2c:

I'd get a second one. A spare. I had a solo too and had gifted it to a friend. Then I had the issue I mentioned. In the mean time I got the solo back and it just didn't cut it man. Hence the spare. The unit has a 2 year warranty and the batteries just the 1. In my case it's a three day turn around from within the UK.

As for your other issue I'm nonplussed bud.

Also.. I'm hitting a level packed mini basket right on pink from my shitty China glass bendy neck piece of shit bong that I just rescued from certain death! , freshly Isod and gunk free. Shit was crusteeee..
Oh yeah my point.. Thing hits like a hammer every time.

Rob 21, that seems so odd as I had a rare particle inhale until I snapped a screen into the flexicone and then the basket. Never one particle since then. And I just use the 2" hard mouthpiece, not the 10" whip.
You're using the flexible flexicone, correct--not the hard plastic one?
I would say that any particles that make it thru the whip certainly get caught in the mouth/ throat and never
make it anywhere near your lungs.
Do you snap the screen into the flexicone?
And then snap the wire basket into the flexicone, flush/tight against the screen?

Unless your bud has a large amount of dust, nothing should get thru the screen. I assembled the flexicone module and sucked directly on the top of the flexicone as hard as I could and zero particles exited.
I don't dry the bud too much and on occasion I'm getting dust in my mouth, but this was minimised by taking inhalation strength right down.
I'd love to think it doesn't reach the lungs, but I've exhaled through cotton sheet and added to the usual brown stain (similar to when breathing smoke through or from volcano) are very fine dust/particles.
Yes to flexicone, screen and basket flush - no gaps. Going to try two screens to see if that's an improvement.

I'm using a silicon tube that has a cone fixed to the end (eg one piece)? Was supplied with the product (purchased a few months ago). It isn't flower that's discolouring the tube, it's particle build up

As tepictoton said---the silicone tubing with a cone fixed to the end IS NOT THE FLEXICONE !!
I've never used the silicone tubing/cone BUT upon comparing that to the flexicone, the profile
is DIFFERENT. Where the extra screen and wire basket snap in, the widest part is not as deep.

So, something is different. Maybe it causes the screen on top to bunch up or??
I'd suggest you try the real flexicone and then rig up a hose attached to it if you prefer.
FYI, I use the short hard mouthpiece as I prefer maximum flavor. The longer the vapor path, the
more vapor condensation/ loss of flavor.
Hope you can get a good setup that works for you

Almost there...
I do not own one of these yet... Should be here next week but think i may be able to help a bit...

I see this on the accessory list:
http://www.minivap.com/usa/accessories/kit-basico.html

Looks like a cone attached to the tube.
Do not use this for your setup.

If i am correct this is the kit you should be using.
Flexicones with the screen and baskets.

http://www.minivap.com/usa/accessories/kit-special-64.html

Then attach that to the lid and use a whip or supplied mouthpiece.
Or leave the top off and use it in a WT.

What i use is the flexicone + - so that definitely shouldn't be used? Even though its practically identical? Odd that company should be selling this then?

Of course you can use the flexicone+. Do you have a screen in the flared section of the flexicone+ or not? A screen fits in there just like the rigid cone that came with the kit included when you bought the minivap. Is your screen installed in the flexicone+ in a similar manner? Maybe post a picture how you have yours set up.

Yes, I think Rob said he has a screen snapped in and the wire basket snapped in. Maybe flexicone + (the tube with cone attached) is best with the just the screen and herb placed directly in the chamber/ no basket, as the profile is different. Maybe snapping in the screen AND the basket doesn't seal properly as the lip is not as deep ????

Yes, can't upload pic but its with a screen as recommended elsewhere on this thread and by the manufacturer - spent more time now going through pages and on other sites, seen various images with heavy discolouring as well, so now know it's a common issue. Not as bad as when people are getting dark streaks of oil tho.

Get an fbomb and then there is zero issue anyhow. Watertoolage is the way to go imho.
Meant to test out my flexicone + today but got toasted of my first flexicone basket..
To anyone new or recently lurking.. Water tools are the preferred method of use. The small flexicone is the best piece to utilise in this circumstance.

I've done it both ways you have mentioned.....same results just a little cleaner minivap using the basket. Neither of which resulted in any particles getting into the tube or my mouth. Discoloring/surface residue is a given byproduct of vaping.

Well aware of residue issue - to be expected and enjoyed - not the particles that high up the tube. Anyway, thanks for everyone's time and responses, I don't think the minivap is for me - this issue, plus the lack of battery life, the intermittent power problems and the cap coming apart, has proved too much for a device this expensive. Looking forward to a proper step forward with another device. Whenever that happens!

No problemo Rob21.. I'm sure you'll have fun in your search... 3 hour battery on lower temps I believe.. And what cap?
Still baffled though lol.
Must have a duff device, has never lasted anywhere near as long, I've tried with green and pink. The metallic cap/cover came off the top piece (that you fix the cone into) - it's like a disc with a lip that fits snug onto the top of the top piece (if you look closely at the top piece from the side you'll see where it joins). It doesn't affect performance as its exterior, but just looks a bit sh*t.

Before you give up on the mini, you may want to try the setup used successfully by 100% (?) of those that use it. The "module"-- small flexicone with screen and basket snapped in. With that setup, I don't believe anyone has ever sucked particles thru the mouthpiece. I'd say to connect that to the hard plastic mouthpiece and then a flexible tube to the mouthpiece, if you want a longer vapor path

Since there's no owner's manual, we don't know if the flexicone + (tube with cone attached) is designed to hold a screen AND the basket----as it doesn't seem to work (for you).

I don't mind the heat on the hard mouthpiece, I use it as a gauge, that halfway up is good--shows it's getting good heat. Has it ever gotten the tip hot, where it burns your lips? Mine never has the gone that far. You don't need to hold the hot part of the mouthpiece--I hold the unit, not the mouthpiece.

You've already invested in the unit, why not try a setup that seems to work for everyone.

A water bubbler isn't needed but a cheap Chinese knockoff is only $25.

so as I wait for my Minivap to arrive (ordered from Vapornation) I am wondering exactly what they are going to ship. Can someone else who has purchased a Minivap from this vendor confirm exactly what this kit comes with as far as flexicones? the Vapornation website shows that the kit includes two "flexicone tubes"... not sure what this refers to as there is nothing by that name on the Minivap website. If I'm reading the Minivap website correctly it looks like the flexicones do not have a tube attached, but the flexicone +'s do. So I wonder if this means I should expect to receive two flexicone +'s from Vapornation... but if that's the case why not call them by the proper name? perhaps these are the hard cones I have read about? but Vapornation is calling them flexicones? I'm asking the vendor directly as well but I think some people in this thread might know more about this device than the vendor.

I plan to use this as a portable in and out of the house, either through the hard mouthpiece, a bubbler, or a whip. just want to make sure I have what I need to put this thing through its paces when it arrives. I'm not a novice but there is surprisingly little readily available info about this apparently excellent device. its like the unicorn of portable vapes haha

I got it from vapornation and it comes with the flexicone and the flexicone+ which is the silicone tube and cone connected as one single piece. I don't use the plastic mp cause I broke it :disgust: But I do use the Flexicone+ with the screen and basket as well as a Pyrex glass 510 drip tip attached to the end of the tube. It's WONDERFUL!:)
