Almost there...
Think I may just cook with the hash... Don't wanna sticky up Herbie's bowl at all

A quick dip in ISO and the sticky bowl is good as new!
It is going to sticky up with regular use anyway...

I keep my bowl and screens clean because i lika the flava!!

I assume you remove the magnetic cool grips before you do this. Has this worked out well for you?

Did you have to take it off like that..... ? Man it looks so easy peezy. Nice vid dude. I'm guessing that's the prototype adapter you're using?

Looking good @Madcap79 !

@CG420 - YES! That's my ceramic HT adapter prototype (the first one ever made!). I've received a second prototype, unfortunately adding 1mm of tolerance was too much. So I've split the difference and ordered a 3rd ceramic prototype.

So grateful I was able to build this part parametrically. This gives me the ability to adjust the dimensions by microns if necessary to ensure a proper fit. Just sucks to wait 20 days between prototypes!

Hopefully I'll have the 3rd prototype in the middle of October

I'm still accepting requests for beta-testers - if you have an HT and you want to receive one of my early units, please PM me.

It's a long waiting game right now (around 20 days) to produce each ceramic prototype, but I can't order multiple until I confirm the fit is 100% air tight to my satisfaction (I stand behind every product I sell, I would hate a customer to be unhappy with their purchase)

For those who want to make their own adapter try some of this:

http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Aldax-Silico...79?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_15&hash=item4d1f1c50cb

2 part silicone, food safe and easy to make your own adapters.

This is how i made mine:

So far i have been using mine daily on my Herbie for about 6 months now and it is still gong strong!

The thing i like about this silicone is that you can basically use it anywhere, except directly on the heat source, allowing adapters to be made quickly and cheaply for any device.

Just another option...

That's just how I take it off. I do it that way so I don't lose any vapor. I've been using it regularly without issues. It definitely is a handy adapter. Thanks @Ratchett !!

Since this thread has been quiet for a couple of days, I thought i'd chime in since i've had my Herbie for a while now. My initial excitement has diminished substantially, and it's not due to the Herbie itself, but rather the whip/bag delivery system. It's bringing back old memories of Arizer Extreme and the smells/maintenance are starting to get to me a little. I can definitely taste/smell something in the stock tubing, and my unit is still offgassing some kind of plasticy smell. It's improved greatly but especially at first use and the fan on if I put my face over it I can still smell something "not clean". Member the member who was PMing me will chime in since they noticed the same thing. Perhaps we are just hyper sensitive, and I do have a strong sense of smell. Using 7th floor tubing was a better experience...I enjoy the lack of coupler and the bigger tubing does improve airflow substantially. Unlike my old Arizer pvc tubing, I can't get the 7th floor clean! I do the iso swishing around and hot water, but there is still a slight ABV residue and minor taste (cleaner tasting than stock though).

I have soiled one bag and it started leaking, and then it tore....I started my second bag but then got a little frustrated and cleaned everything and boxed it up. It's been a few days, and I think i'll try it out again, but i've been honestly enjoying my Cloud and Nano more at this point. I do respect and understand how amazing this piece of technology is, I just wish it was a little be simplified and maybe merged with the Cloud? lol

The heat up time and temp precision are simply incredible. I find the aromatherapy pretty much useless, and the plastic lid/tray is something I think i'd remove like another member here did.

Anyways, I didn't wanna rag but just sharing my experienes, and trying to figure out which vapes of mine to keep or sell. The hits are surprising out of this beast, but I think I may have to lean toward an adapter and HT setup. I tried a short piece of tubing to glass, but especially with the fan assist, the tubing gets soft and almost looks like it warps and melts a bit and I get paranoid. Also, is the airpath isolated from the electronics? I think this question got buried earlier when I posted it?

You're not supposed to take a shit in them!

All joking aside, the bags are admittedly the weak point in Herbie's current design and they are working on it. I wouldn't sweat the soft tubing. That happens to every type of tubing I attach to this thing...it's normal. Now, regarding taste, I don't know what to tell you except to contact Herbalizer. My guess is it is your super senses, as we are all different. But the team at Herbalizer is more qualified to answer that than I and I'm sure they would give you ample attention to figure it out. They take it seriously. I don't detect any noticeable taste difference compared to most vaporizers, but this is not a glass air path either. They used materials they feel do not impart taste such as ceramic and stainless steel, but my all glass vapes taste better...I don't care what anyone says. I give the Evo a slight advantage in taste and the Vapolution a bigger advantage in taste. But I don't have any other vapes that I think taste better.

I suggest giving it some more use. There is not one vape that satisfies all needs and situations. I prefer the hits of the Cloud...I just don't love whips. But everything else about it keeps me coming back for more. When I want that bong/taste experience I warm up the Evo. When I want it now, fast and hard, I reach for Herbie. I think once you have gotten to enjoy Herbie with someone else and get to play with the different temp effects the things you don't like will start to fade away. And, yes, definitely McGyber Herbie up to your HT for an impressive experience!

Thanks Sticks great reply! I did make it like new and was planning on selling it when I put it away but I'll take your advice and give it another round. I actually started ended up only using the max temp and I'm starting to wonder if I'm just more of a Cloud fan.

The taste from the whip is what gets me. I love this device I just wish it was more compatible with water/glass. Even on 445 I'm not getting huge huge clouds. I'm not saying they aren't medicating though !!!i still stand beyond the fact (in my eyes ) that this is a vape in its own league. I LOVE LOVE LOVE being able to say hey I would like to vape now,and 10 seconds later doing just that ! How are we going to get this taste out @biohacker ? Think I'll do an overnight soak with the original whip so I can keep using the ssv tubing.

Hey! I'm working on it!!! My 3rd prototype Ceramic HT adapter is being printed today, fired in the kiln early next week, and will be shipped out next friday! Hopefully this is a good fit (if not, I'm off by less than 200 microns!). From there I'll start taking orders for the first large-group beta test.

I promise, the Herbie will be MUCH more compatible with glass before the end of this year!

I think it is just the nature of whips. There is nothing like glass, and I tried a shorty 6-8" 7th floor to glass and the experience was okay but cumbersome. I feel the exact same way as you, I worship Herbie but I feel like I'm trying to make it more like my other vapes. Even with an adapter and HT, for the money invested this is a tough decision, one I won't rush.

Do you use the bags? I took one valve apart, I'm curious if you can use another bag with these valves? $10/bag would get way too expensive for me.

Tell me about it, my Swagger LE HT showed up broken in half, but that's another storey. I need to get me a decent priced HT stat! I wish I didn't have to work today so I can do some more testing! First world problems, at least I have FC at work when time permits. Lol

When I first got Herbie I was not in love with the taste...whips aren't my fave. I got my HT setup working and used it like that for some time. This got me to love it. Later on in a fit of laziness I started using the whip again and found it great since I didn't have to hassle with the glass connections.

So....I suggest you use Herbie as your vapor maker and run it through whatever gets you going with your other vapes. After that I predict you will be hooked on how its temp selection and instant heat up enhance your already favorite rigs. Is it as ergonomic to use with glass as the Cloud or even a log vape with a gong stem? Hell no! But once you get used to instant heat up, waiting for your vape to get to temp seems archaic.

As for you guys not getting clouds...it's either dirty screens, inferior meds (I currently have three strains that all produce different thickness and duration of vapor) or a defective unit. My unit pumps out clouds as thick as any other vape I use, temps being the same. I say clean your screens, get top shelf meds, turn it up to 445 and go to town. If that doesn't work then give the Herbalizer crew a call for some troubleshooting.

Thanks Sticks. I am absolutely hooked on the heat up/down time. It's just after using the cloud and nano that I'm used to a fairly clean air path and I can still detect some plasticky odour although it has greatly improved. This definitely comes from the unit. Other than that, it works flawlessly. I don't understand how the screens get dirty, a quick brush and they are still completely clean after putting it through its paces.

The cool grips, what for? They attracted dirt (like the stock tubing) And I used the bowl without the grips. Not even warm really.

Attaching the herbie with whip to glass I wasn't stoked on. But I'll try again. Just hate hot air running through the tubing. Especially when it kinda warps, and flavour isn't the same. Pretty sure only the HT and adapter will be my way to go but again I vape standing up in my kitchen near exhaust fan so it will be a pain to bend down.

One day there will be a Herbie to invert on to glass the size of a cube. One day. Lol
