Vapman

The Classic has a little edge in my mind at least. It's easier for me to keep the temp more even throughout a session and can use slightly shorter blasts from the torch when doing back to back hits also seems I would have to make a conscious effort to char my herbs with the classic and I still (after less then a whole month with either one) blacken a load prematurely in the basic once in a while.

I believe the mica does help with more then just cosmetics and helps maintain the bowl temp a bit too.

I also think the mica was keeping the outside cooler. That may have been pure imagination of course, but I think the insulation not only helps the oven stay hot, but it keeps the outside from getting as hot as fast.

I never did try an A/B test (alternate hits), and have since lost track of copy of the unprotected version.......

Yeah I agree with the mica and cooler fingertips. If I do the A/B test usually all i ever prove to myself is that I get real stoned.

I think the mica has given me more consistent results and I seem to reliably go through a load more quickly. Given my experience with both, I would opt for the mica. Plus, I was putting a pretty serious char on the basic and it was driving me crazy.

Mine was embered earlier...... Dunno if that's a bad thing.... Oh well

@KidFated. I got my basic on the 3rd of this month and it pretty well stopped with the little bit of ember 'Glow' and smoking a week ago. I have very little charring on the bottom but it's blackened around bowl all the way up to springs that hold the top piece on (looks pretty sweet to me). I've been using it tonight and really blasted through a couple of the bowls and didn't notice any smoking or burning wood smell.

The more you have it "embered" and smoking now, I believe the sooner it stops smelling like smoldering Pear wood after some of those hotter hits.

Thanks for the reassurance, I assumed it'd go away soon but I'll just have to keep breaking it in then right?

I had to sign up to FC today to tell you about the VAPMAN!! I have the following Vaporizers: PAX, Arizer Solo, MFLB, Vapman. I've also owned the puffit. I bought the Vapman about 3 months ago and didn't really like it. I was just about to post it for sale, then I decided to have 1 more session. OMG!!! Im glad i didn't sell it. It does take time to master. But you get hell-of-high on a little bit of meds. This is the one of the hardest hitting, up there with the Arizer solo on taste and dense clouds like the PAX. A must have for anyone that likes to VAPE!!! Vape on!!

I would say no, there are no unreachable crevices to clean in the vapman.

Mine smells vefy little after about a year of constant use – It's not odorless by any means, but you have to stick it up to your nose to smell it.

The key for me is to clean out the bowl right after a session so the resin doesn't stick to it when it cools down.

You can also clean the wooden mouthpiece easily with a q-tip and the plastic part of the mouthpiece by shoving a small piece of toilet paper through it with a bamboo skewer.

I tried the concentrate screen with sticky charas hash!! I get stoned for sure but since was my first vaporizer and my first session I have doubts if I combust a little or was clean vapor..

I tried to vape after 3 seconds flame - pause - 2-3 sec vape and have only taste of chocolate in my mouth..
To start see little vapor near the bowl and then inhale it takes like 4 or 5 or 6 times of 2-3 seconds(with pauses) of flaming.

• Is that too much? I think hash need higher temperatures than weed..

Then the hit is very strong, i cant handle to inhale with power more than 8 seconds and sometimes then i start to cough from like lung tickle or fullness (and not because it is too hot i think). The exhale cloud is very good and thick but i dont have other expierience. Then I heat up again like 2 times of 3 sec but the next hit is way too weak(if exists), the 3rd hit is weakest or unexist.

• Is that normal? I have used as little as 0.1g or 0.2g or 0.3g of hash. The residue left is the same color as before vaping(black) but not so sticky as before. Also if i rub it in my fingers sometimes leaves black colour in my fingers but not like ash(a little like touch carbon). Also smells strange but not like carbon.

• Can you help me if you think I am doing something wrong or ideas to make it better?

Also I have problems with cleaning. The concentrate screen is some type of metalic mesh without holes and the vaped hash leave some residue. I rub it with a knife but in the surface some black residue stays.

• May I burn it with the flame lighter or soak it in alcohol to get cleaned ?

• I am trying to stop smoking. 5 days without tobbaco.. Does anyone vape tobbaco in Vapman? Is it possible and good?

Because of not smoking now my lungs try to make expectoration and i cough. I have bought lavender, eucalyptus and thyme. Have anyone tried one of these with vapman with success? @Seren wrote me that: However, given its wood construction, the smell of the essential oils from the herbs could linger..
What does that means? I will harm vapman durability or just with other vaporizers is better. Its my first and only so I want to vape anything with vapman only but i want not to harm vapman materials..

The taste an smell may linger, but other than that you'll be fine.

One extra thought for the new concentrate screen.

The mess screen due to his shape is not touching entirely the gold bowl. The golden bowl is some type of cone or funnel and the screen begins about 1mm like a cone and then goes flat until the center.

• Does make sense that in the spot where the screen is touching with the bowl makes conduction vape and where not touching makes convection ?

• Do you know in which spot where makes it better and easier to vape clean and pure ?

I am experiment where it is better to put the hash for example.

• Do ypu think is it better o make a circular makaroni and put around touching the conical part of the screen or make little pressed balls and put them mostly on the level flat surface ?

Very few if any of us can answer your questions @gkaraman since we can't buy the concentrate screens yet, nobody has used or even held one yet, your the first person here with one it seems.

Just excited (yesterday was my first session ever), and so many faq was born and wanted to tell..

You can tell me imaginary thought of what you believe.. The screen material i think is like other popular on the market.

It is Pretty Cool that you get to try out a brand new option for the vapman your first time out.

My first thoughts without seeing one of the screens in person is it's still mainly conduction properties involved in the heating process.

I own vapes that are nearly 100% convection and some that are 100% conduction. In terms of effects in the long run I truly see little difference between the two in the end.
As long as it's vaporizing, to me it's all good.

Enjoy your vapman it's a great choice for an introduction to vaporizing our sweet herb.

Thanks @steama , this was very helpful to me as i have been practicing with the vapman since last night The high has been good but different than with the pipe and while i could taste it - there was no visable vapor in any of my hits.

Im not sure why anyone heats then pauses and heats again? I heat mine for 8 seconds the first hit, then stay with 8 seconds per every hit after. Unless I want 1-2 lung busters, then after the first initial hit Ill torch it for 9-10 seconds and then rip that baby

My thoughts on the vapman for You....You're friend as a smoker, should enjoy it.the vapman simulates smoking in a way,is fun with company, or alone & provides some of the smokiest hits around.the real short airpath means vapor from the tiny load is tasty as too before diminishing slowly through conduction heat.
It's difficult to combust ,dark brown ABV is easily achievable without poof.
Very open draw in the vapman is nice too.its not super tough out of the case.Dont leave it lying on the sofa and sit on it, although I have,luckily with no issues,everything is still tight as it should be.
It smells more than the lotus.
The vapman is extremely miserly,very efficient,similar to a log vape with a 5/16 ss nipple stem.

I strayed from the vapman many times these past 14 months, it was never far from me though during that time.I was just spending money on new vapes and testing working out what was what.wish I'd known...now I reach for it every time for those special bake conduction hits it provides and with so little material too.i recommend the mica.

Took my basic hunting AND fishin yesterday.. Luckily I picked it over my mflb because we kind of chased birds a little too far off the trail and ended up settin up camp for a cold night in the woods! Oh well, found the trail this morning and still have my can of butane in my pack! (No I don't shoot guns medicated, I save medicating until after!) I really like the feel of the basic compared to my mica.. Maybe it's cuz it's new.
