So I finally found some RSO(Phoenix tears ) and have been trying to start a regimen to see if it would help with my chronic nerve pain in my neck and right arm from and infected nerve in my neck .
I have never had any regular success getting much relief from edibles (not from lack of trying ) and have been looking for a way to cut down my vaping .

I was about four days in .
I started on the weekend so I would not need to worry about working and took a very small amount (grain of rice ) Got nothing but was not expecting to as I have a pretty high tolerance due to vaping every night and smoking for many years before that .
Day two and three I increased the amount with the same result and by day four was at a small ball maybe 3-4 grains of rice .
And wow Day four I got more stoned then i have been in a long time . Like way too stoned .
Anyone else have a similar experience .
Its been a few days and I think I am going to try again today (don't want it to go to waste)
I am also wondering how much this varies form batch to batch and are there is anyone making and testing RSO to get consistent results ?

I'm new to this Forum and many of the newer products out there as I have been out of the game for years. What is RSO and where can I read up on it? I suffer from severe pain due to Rheumatoid Arthritis which has flared up again over the past 2 1/2 years and need to do something to make my waking hours more tolerable!!!

RSO is Rick Simpson oil which is basically just a decarb'd hash oil intended for edible ingestion. Check out phoenixtears.ca, Google "run from the cure" or "Rick Simpson oil" . Traditional RSO is extracted using ISO or naphta in a rice cooker or similar. It's a long extraction that ends up with a fair amount of chlorophyll in the oil some people say this is beneficial and some it doesn't agree with their palette or digestive system. Personally having tried RSO made in a rice cooker I would prefer a cleaner decarb'd hash oil extraction and supplement my clorophyll intake through other methods. Juicing fan leaves and other parts from cannabis would probably be the best IMO because you would get the clorophyll and the other benefits from canna juicing while not contaminating your extraction.

As for how effective it would be for RA I don't personally know. I know it helped me get off of 120mg of morphine and 40mg of norco per day and now I am canna only for my pain treatments.

It also got rid of my fathers stage 2 prostate cancer that the Dr's where ready to start radiation therapy and biopsy's for. After about 3-4 months of RSO the doctors said if they hadn't seen the initial tests themselves they wouldn't have believed it because all traces of it where basically gone.

I also live with Rheumatoid Disease. If you live in a MMJ state, definitely check out RSO.

For me, RSO definitely has way more body feel than vaping and its good for relieving some types of pain. Is it as good as morphine? That's tough to answer. When I was not vaping and just taking morphine it ended badly however now, in smaller temporary doses combined with cannabis, things seem a lot better.

Man, I love hearing accounts of people who have cured cancer with RSO. Was RSO the only thing he did, or was it part of a larger healing protocol?

Definitely with you on this. I know you weren't directing this at me in particular but I wanted to clarify my previous statement. I don't think RSO can be a full opioid replacement for ALL patients. My case was a bit different then most. I have chronic pain from a severe motor vehicle accident. I have always had a high tolerance to opioids (among other things) naturally. Due to both of these circumstances I was taking these high doses of opioids which lead to higher tolerance and physical dependence which in turn (IME) also increased my chronic pain. RSO was an effective tool that gave me enough relief to help break this cycle. Now I only take opioids if I have a really really bad flare up or over exertion. Maybe once a year.

I don't want come off like a zealot portaying RSO as some sort panacea miracle drug, but I do think that it's very powerful canna-medicine that is vastly overlooked.

All people have different needs and no one thing will work for everyone. I know for certain that right after my accident RSO would not have been enough relief all by itself and I am very thankful for the increased quality of life pharmaceuticals helped provide me at that time.

Not in particular, he always followed a regular fitness regimen and ate fairly healthy. I believe he was a bit more diligent in those regards and also started to consume hemp seed oil on daily basis. He did have some "side effects" though..... Lower blood pressure, better cholesterol levels, less neck pain, etc :)

Thank you as I agree there is never a problem in taking matters into your own hands to be creative and relieve yourself from chronic pain.....

I sorry to hear that you as well suffer from RA...it is definitely a condition that I would never wish on another person. No one should have to put up with the discomfort and pain generated by your Auto-immune System attacking your healthy joints destroying tissue in the process.....

Vicki, how long have you been effected by this disease? What medication(s) do you currently take for your treatment? In case you are wondering...I'm being nosy but hopefully not too pushy!!!

Take care...and be good!!!

Hey, need some advice from anyone who's made a successful batch.

The later step of allowing the oil to simmer on a coffee warmer, can this be accomplished in a standard oven at approx 110C for 30 minutes? or longer? (This is stated to evap off the last of the solvent).

I've read much on different ways to make RSO, and some state the oil must be decarbed in oven at 110C to be full strength.

I've never made this stuff but I wouldn't want to be purging flammable solvents in an oven.
My bad... last step is to evap water... a bit less explosive... ;)

16. Place the stainless steel container in a dehydrator, or put it on a gentle heating device such as a coffee warmer. It may take a few hours but the water and volatile terpenes will be evaporated from the oil. When there is no longer any surface activity on the oil, it is ready for use.

While it tastes terrible., RSO is excellent for gum health. Our roommate, who has severe periodontal disease (he's celiac), totally shocked his dentist by completely recovering by smearing the stuff on his gums nightly (medical records available to qualified researchers). Cannabis may cure gum disease, or at least keep some forms in check.

I use an RSO-infused oil pulling concoction with other ingredients that support gum health. It seems to work very well!
Mine has a brand name of Fractal Farmacy, here in WA.

I'm currently trying some 20mg RSO capsules before bed (got 10 of them). Seems to help with the pain a little bit.

So, I made a small batch of coffee mug RSO... it's on my Instagram... I used 13 g of ground bud (mystery bud shoved in the back of the cupboard), two washes with Everclear (160 proof), then cooked off over boiling water until it's black/green goo.
Almost 3 g of RSO. I'm cooking the rest out of the coffee mug and into coconut milk. :)

Next, I'm doing this stuff, Cannabis Paste: http://newcure.org/

I'm going to start a new thread about Cannabis Paste.

Oh, and in regards to the RSO I made yesterday. I realized almost 3 grams from 13 grams of mystery bud (pre-ground). After scraping every little bit into the silicone container possible, I then poured coconut milk into the mug, and heated that on a coffee cup heater, scraping the sides with the rubber spatula until most of it was dissolved. Threw in a couple of squares of chocolate, melted those, and then drank it.

OMFG.

I was so very, very, very medicated last night. Wow.

Anyway, that seems effective. I will probably use that for medibles. I'm going to do more serious experimentation with CP.

My personal journey with cannabis continues. I have decided to try RSO (Rick Simpson Oil) aka Phoenix Tears for my Psoriatic Arthritis to see what happens. I know people are using this for cancer and skin ailments, among other things, but I wanted to see what effect it might have for me. I'm hoping to "nudge" my incurable auto-immune disease into another mode or "modulate" it if you will. It seems that when this happens it puts things "in motion" and that can lead to a change in health. The biologics I take do this when the medicine enters and leaves my body. Also looking for some strong pain relief.

My first 2 doses were about 1/2 the size of a grain of rice and weigh about .02 gram. I just smear the oil in an empty 00 gelatin capsule and consume. Amazingly enough, I can feel the effects. I do not want to overdo this and be stuck for 6-8 hours over medicated, that would be "no bueno". I notice a slight sleepy effect after about an hour and some really good pain relief as well. The oil seems to be ok on my tummy. I'm going to follow the protocol and try to titrate up on the oil, only time will tell, but I will never know unless I try.

If anyone out there has RSO experience please chime in . . . :)

Thanks for posting this. I hope others who use RSO in a regulated, less experimental way, will post their experiences.

Have yet to try it myself, but saw this video for making a small batch somewhere (can't remember where), and always meant to give it a shot ...

After watching this RSO video I'm left wondering why do they only let the bud soak in the alcohol for a few minutes? Wouldn't it be stronger (extract more THC) if you left it in the alcohol for 2-6 weeks? I'm really confused
:myday:

diminishing returns you get so much more chlorophyll by soaking it longer its not worth the little bit extra THC that you get by doing that
