A PC doesn't draw nearly the amps an AC compressor does (unless you are gaming w/SLI rig). I can see my lights dim when my compressor kicks on and my 120 volts can drop down to 116. So even if your on a "unstressed" outlet, it could be something on the same circuit.

BTW, everything from the cards to the CPU to the RAM is overclocked in that rig... meaning its drawing considerably more power than the same equipment at standard speeds. It also has 10+ fans, and a liquid cooling system running 24/7.

In any case, I've been running things like this for the better part of a year, and you better believe I vape the shit out of stuff when I'm gaming... at night... with that lamp on.


...and yes, I can heat a North Korean village with this thing. My office gets pretty damn hot even with the central AC on if I'm stressing those GPUs. I've seen each chip top out at over 90°C. Id change them out for something more efficient, cooler, quieter and faster... but I'm waiting for one of these to die (going on 3 years now) or a game to come along that I cant max out with playable framerates. Maybe when the 980 is released...

A 1200 Watt PSU / 120 V = 10 amps at most, if you where maxing out that PSU + CPU all the time, which is unheard of. A 1500 W heater pulls more amps.

A 10,000 BTU AC compressor pulls 10 amps easy.

PCs are not high amp usage devices, just a constant pull of wattage that adds up. I have two Quad cores (both with 4 HDDs each) and a Dual core all on the same circuit that I use my nano.

Actually its not. I have the GPUs and CPU near max during "off duty" hours every day (typically 12+ hours). I participare in a few different "folding" programs, as well as crunching numbers for SETI:

I urge anyone with spare computing power to do the same. You can make a real difference by barely doing anything. IMO its resources better spent that say... bit-coin mining.

Regardless, my point is that you don't need a dedicated outlet to run the Nano.

No you don't, but to get consistent repeatable performance it helps a bunch. Isn't that the point of everyone posting the # on the dial they vape at?

My point was that a 1200 W PSU never pulls 10 amps like a AC, Heater, Washer, Dryer or any big appliance does that would affect the Voltage getting to the nano.

I use a UPS with a digital readout of my voltage along with a Kill-a-watt on my nano, always keeping an eye on my power.

(edit: actually I believe the washer and drier are on their own dedicated circuit)

In any regard, IMO, my example is probably more extreme than what the vast majority of E-Nano users are going to see out in the real world. No?

Thanks for the insight everyone, just curious. Chaining up surge protectors isn't really an issue for anything on that circuit unless something's seriously pulling a lot of power, but i was mostly making sure the nano's heater wasn't super sensitive to getting a certain quality of ac powre

I just placed my order for my custom exotic e-nano. I also picked up honeycomb glass stem, adjust-a-bowl GonG 19mm, and an all glass GonG 19mm. I'm going to be using my nano for dry herb n concentrates, straight draw and through WP's. Is there anything else I might need? Also any tips or technique for vaping the concentrates?

After much research and debate, I bit the bullet and ordered a exotic Hawaiian Koa E-Nano last tuesday, the 16th. I received confirmation the same day, and the Paypal charge went through the next day. I have received no further contact since. I emailed andy@epicvape.com a few times and also submitted some kind of support ticket on there sight but to no avail... I now turn to FC for help! What would be the best course of action here? Am I being impatient? Is there another place to contact. Any help would be great!
