Hi guys, I'm want to buy a vapman but... I'm a wondering if I should get a normal one (no mica) or a special one with mica ?

The normal sells around 90$ and the mica version 130$ it's almost 50% more money.

Do the no mica version tend to burn (or turning like a piece of charcoal) after several years?

What do you recommend ?
This conversation made me buy a basic to go along with my mica, can't wait!!

Hey guys, I received my vapman... I love it for a quick vape session. You get to a "certain stage" really fast with this toy, this will help me a lot to convince my combustion addict friends. I'll be perfect for my next week-end in the wood.

I've been running small loads (half full or less, medium grind no tamping/packing) for the last few days.

I've found that when packing smaller loads it still takes (more or less) the same amount of draws to cash the load. It's just that these draws are much lighter in their vapour production. I expected to be able to cash a small load in one hit but it doesn't seem to respond in that way. The lower vapour production does mean that it's even more efficient (less unabsorbed waste vapour) you just have to accept you won't be blowing clouds, the effect is still there.

I see you have a Lotus. It's a good vaporizer, right? But I mean... it doesn't have an egg-shaped carrying case. When you use it dry, you also have to use the aluminum stem, and you have to hit it with the torch as you use it. Don't get me wrong, that works fine, and it's convenient. With the Vapman you just hit it with the torch to warm it up, and then you take the heat away and take a draw. Easy to palm in the hand. Egg-shaped carrying case. I don't know about hooking it up to water, I haven't seen any videos about that here, so I think the Lotus may have it beat there. I mean look at this video I found of this guy using one:

Don't mind the fact that he looks like he's scared that his mom will find him and that he doesn't know how to work the torch lighter. Those first few hits are already pretty good considering the time he spent pre-heating it, and it works well for small loads. Look at how small the whole Vapman setup is compared to the dry Lotus setup! They're both good vaporizers I'm sure and the Lotus probably has it beat with water tools but I think the Vapman is an easier and more elegant approach to the dry path. It also won't have any issues with plates cracking, though I know Mendo provided the fix when the issues came up. Plus, you're already here asking about it ;)

Thanks for the input mate. :) These are obvious points though. And I follow the Vapman thread since I got here. But I need some other kind of input as there are people who sold their Vapman for a Lotus or a Solo.

Do you have a Lotus? Or a FF? I'd love some input on taste and clouds and harshness of vapor or if you can you load it without the special funnel... Some comparison with the Lotus or FF or any other vape in my sig maybe. :) And I'd love it if the input doesn't come from OF as I don't appreciate his v1 Lotus experience so much. Sorry OF but it's outdated…

And I don't care for glass at all and the cracking plates never happen when you handle the Lotus correctly. It takes too much heat to crack so you have to draw as hard as you can to need so much heat. :goon:

EDIT: Oh yeah! Great clouds indeed in the vid!

Hi @natural farmer

I personally find the taste to be really good with the Vapman. When you use the wooden mouthpieces you do get a hint of woodiness (which you obviously don't get with the Solo), but I actually don't mind that - in fact, I much prefer using the wooden stems over the plastic.

Given that the stem is far shorter than the Solo stem, the vapour is a little warmer in comparison - but I wouldn't say it's harsh - I hit mine dry all the time. As you've seen in the vid, you can indeed produce decent clouds if that's what you're after. I suppose in that sense it's more comparable to the E-Nano than the Solo - since you can finish off a bowl in just a few cloud producing hits - or eek it out a lot longer if that's what you'd prefer.

You can fill the bowl without the funnel - but I don't see why you'd want to tbh - the funnel makes the job of filling fast & easy, & it fits in the egg perfectly, so it's not a hassle to carry around with you.

I know how you love your Lotus - it's a neat, hard hitting vaporiser by all accounts (I've never tried one - but will one day I'm sure)...... but the Vapman has its own little niche. I think they'd complement each other well in your collection.

Come on ---- join the club --- you know you want to ;)

:2c: :peace:

Edit: I'm not sure where you're based - but Vapornation still have a 20% discount promotion (code: SUM14) - so you could bag the basic for under $70!!! :)

Hello,

I just received Vapman with mica. It is my first vaporizer!!! I am planning to stop smoking also. Unfortunately from cold I have flu or something rigth now.. Does anyone used Vapman to inhale votanic herbs such as chamomile, mint, sage, lavender, valerian, etc ? Can you explane me the vapor proccess with these?

Also I was lucky to get the new screen for concentrates. Does anyone know how to use it ? I have hash to use, oldstyle charas(morrocen) like plasticine, do I have to make little balls and just put them around the concentrate screen or make it like a thin layer ? How about the temperature, i think i have to reach higher temperatures to vape hash, is that right ? Lastly after how can i clean the stinky rags left from vaped hash? Can I put another new on top of the rags?

Thanks for all, I was almost get one shitty vape pen and after your help I have decided to get that beautiful handmade ecological vaporizer. Love and peace!

It is possible to vaporise all sorts of herbs in the Vapman  ....... However, given its wood construction, the smell of the essential oils from the herbs could linger - that's why I personally prefer to use my Solo for lavender & camomile. The following thread has lots of information on vaping all sorts of botanicals, & should answer a lot of your questions better than I can:

http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/the-ethnobotanical-thread.148/

Congratulations on bagging a new concentrates screen!!!! You're probably one of the first to try one, they're not yet available on the Vapman site.... but they should be soon. When I sandwich between herbs in my other vaporisers - I aim to maximise the surface area of my hash as much as possible - it seems to vape better that way. So, I compress it as much as possible. I know people also grind theirs to achieve a good effect - so perhaps little balls - flattened would be best!??

Happy experimenting - let us know how you get on with the Vapman & the screens :) :peace:

Man go easy on the of- he's a Vapor Jedi round these parts and has helped many as You have yourself..be nice man.;)

Vapman is a vape You can take out to your moms place for a BBQ and not be too bothered using if around a table with folks and I have many times.the natural look, the tiny scale, and precision feel of this tiny little vaporizer goes unnoticed really quickly mostly. It can become a focal point in company briefly but folks leave intrigued and positive from their experience of it after You offer it to them.
The lotus is an occasional vape for me nowadays.

hits can be however You like it thick or light and very flavoursome on the first inhalations, very short airpath and no waiting around.I need that.its a manual vape.you control the heat of the device,it's simple. And once You get it down you will miss the vapman if it's not there.its my go to mostly purely for it sedative conduction hits.too much sticky slab as a kid I think.i find it mimics those effects well.

My favourite vapman vid or one of them,

You can load it with a slurpee straw if you like,no need for the ring but I use it sometimes.only other thing is a tiny brush to dislodge the herbcake after roasting it.i get 5 or so hits from a load first three are super flavoursome to flavoursome then last two dwindle to coffee colour grounds .the last hits are the hits that really work for me though.Im sure I could get more, that's just how if works for me.then I reload and it's back to flavour city yum.

You ll love it for sure.I just know it.

I don't agree. Not everyone will love it without question, as with any vape. It's a very different sort of machine than Lotus (which is more like VG) in the way they process the heat. Where as with Lotus heat is added through the hit, in Vapman it all happens before hand. VM has to store all the heat it will need in the copper without getting so hot on the inside (before the hit) that you go over temperature. This limits the size of the potential hit 'on both ends'. It's designed, from the start, to milk the goodness from a modest amount of bud. Big hits is not a strong suit. It's a vape 'for sippers, not rippers'.

My 'read' of the OP is he's in the latter group. My opinion, if I'm still allowed one, is this might not be a good call for him. Might be fine for others, of course.

My view of the VM from the start is it is only going to appeal to a segment of folks. The very things that make it positive for some are negative for others......as is life.

Thanks for the kind words, guys. Glad to help when I can as are a goodly number of our fellows.

Having used both the Vapman and lotus will give any opinion you may have about flame powered vaporizers or herb conservative portables more weight.

Until you try 'em all or at least most of 'em your view and opinion is limited to ONLY the one you know. (you can't compare something you know with something you've only read about)

Also i think the Vapman is a much more refined tool. The lotus is like Budweiser and the Vapman 30 year old Glenlivet. Both will give you a buzz but ...

Edit: The Vapman does a Fair job sitting on top of the Orbiter, fits perfect even leaving the mouthpiece on. It's not as fast as the lotus this way nor are the clouds of vapor as large but if you need the coughing size hits you get with a water tool (let's all get real, we use water tools to pull larger hits 99% of the time and not to cool or tame the vapor) the Vapman can give you that too.

I'm really satisfied with having Both around, can't put a finger on why but I like the basic more for when I'm doing higher heat and a quick bowl and the classic for 'laid back listen to an album and stretching out a load' kinda sessions. Also when sharing I use the Basic and they use the Classic.

I think the vapman lends itself best to the 'each user does their own bowl from start to finish' kind of session since you get the full profile of effects that way, Effects I'm feeling strongly at this very moment by the way.

I hadn't realised you'd bought both models @RUDE BOY - awesome  I'm curious, how do you feel they compare in terms of vapour quality? The Vapman site states they perform equally - is that your take on it?

....& I have to agree with you, I also don't think the Vapman is best suited to bowl sharing - a bowl (or 2, or 3 ...) each is the way I play it too :)
