Discontinued Inhalater INH05/5S/6

Ok. So, after about ten days of being seriously vaped, my INH05 crapped out. At first the blue light stopped blinking, but I'm pretty sure it was heating. Changed the battery. No blue light, no heat. I let Fredrick know, and made arrangements to ship the unit back to Montreal. Fredrick tells me they will ship the replacement by the weeks end. Had it happened later, I might have tried whacking the bottom against a table top as others have suggested to seat the battery.

In the meantime, I went out and acquired a Solo. Here's my comparison:

The Solo is definitely less stealthy. That giant glass tube is both awesome (great tasting herb) and a massive liability (feels like I'm going to smash it every time I use it). The heating time on the INH05 is about half to one third of the Solo. After the INH05, the solo makes me feel like I'm going to get my pension before its ready to go. The Solo is a good generator of cloud - it keeps producing big hits.

While not as tasty as the Solo, the INH05 heat time, stealth and ease of use, make it easily my favorite over the Solo. The Inhalater is just so easy to use, clean, and carry.

Can't wait until my INH05 is back. In the meantime, Solo, you're alright, but so damn slow to heat up.

- VAPE Dr. - How do you drill the air hole in the INH05 capsules. Could you post a picture and some instructions?

@The Professor It's quite simple. Just get drill with a small bit (start small, you can always go bigger) and drill as showed in the pics below. I only have 2 shoulders and a regular capsule.
I drilled an "air" hole in one of the shoulder capsules (don't mind the home made mouth tip, it helps keep the capsule tip much cooler), and I drilled 2 holes (one on each side) in the normal capsule.
The 2 holes are a "straight through" drilling. This works very well for me especially at high temps. It seems to cool it down a bit when your near 7 or 8.

Where to drill.

Shoulder capsule. 1 hole

Standard capsule. 2 holes straight through.

Also, this my sound ass backwords, but sometimes when I'm taking a draw and the vapor is warm, I'll draw really hard allowing the fresh air to come through the side chamber holes and combine with the air I'm inhaling through the INH05 and seems to cool the air down. The light will flash really bright for like 3 seconds and the oven is right back up to temperature.

I have been using the INH05 daily, trying to find that just right temperature and draw speed, with and without the "air" capsule. I've gotten it down pretty good to the point where I might compare it to the PnP in vapor temperature.

It is much more tolerable to me than the first time I used it.

I plan on doing a follow up review after I feel I've "mastered the temperatures, if the capsules like a tight-loose-or in between pack, draw speed, and the amount of air intake through the unit and capsules.

Hope this helps!

Hi Inhalater when do you plan to ship us the rest of our perks?
Where can I found a user guide to replace the battery?..... a step by step pdf would be nice!
Listen once you have done it a few times it gets really simple and quick as well.....
I simply flip it around so that the base is now in between my index and thumb and I have come to notice that it opens much easier if the USB port is just under your thumb....I focus the pressure to open or pop off the cap...then just wiggles the switch out favoring a bit more pull to the folded ribbon side {opposite the USB port}....once that is free I just let it hang being sure to keep it at the bottom in other words the body stays USB pointing up.....this way the ribbon cable stays put...turning the body of the unit with the battery out...some what encourages it to twist and or bind which will cause issues when inserting the replacement battery.....so best to just let it unfold and lay at the bottom while the old battery slides out and the freshly charged battery is slide back in...... replace the switch assembly and Note the ribbon fold

This is really the only thing to be sure to fuss over.... making sure that the switch cap is on the outside of the folded ribbon cable....it is some what easy to mistakenly pinch the ribbon cable..... so just be careful to insure that the fold is on the inside of the cap so you won't pinch it when snapping the cap back on.......

Ah yes let us not forget a mention of the cap....I know sounds simple but you want to be sure to line up the switch with the cap or else it won't wish to go together and it could cause damage if forced to.....
I simple be sure that the switch is in the off position {clicked} and then I just line up the off on the cap to the little white mark below the led....sorry laser pointer....

It really is easy to do the more you have done it and know what to expect..... I have even done it in the dark and very quickly too.....

Just have the fresh battery ready and --> pop --> flip --> slide out/in --> flip --> pop .... Done....:peace:

Taste of the Solo is overrated

To get the same results with the 05

use a standard cap and turn the dial on 5.5, wait 5 min, plug the airtake holes and inhale very slowly

Great legacy device ;-)

i have to respecfully disagree. my XP and 05 (or any INH ihave tried) are not on the same level flavor wise. i accustom that to the poly material not tasting as good as what glass can provide. the INHs do t taste bad, but cant be compared to glass IMO.

but for stealth purposes i am totally willing to compromise a bit of flavor.

aluminum decal -- so i'm getting a replacement and i'm thinking about going for the aluminum decal... they look good in the pictures, but does anyone reading this own one? does it look good? does it look like real aluminum? would you recommend it over the black?

thanks, simmy

Did you get a glass cap? Like the solo but the stem is a little short.

That was cool at first but I did not find much of an advantage.

Overall I prefer the air capsules

Got my Inhalater! I put it on the charger an hour ago. I had the 04 and the XP so I'm excited to see how this compares. Also do they sell the batteries and external chargers yet? Or could I maybe just go to batteries plus and buy some?

Edit: damn you guys were not kidding about the charging it is been on for three hours now and the light still hasn't gone off.

I would definitely mail order yourself a wall charger, and two new batteries. The wall charger will get you good to go in just a couple of hours, and that will charge two batteries. From there, you just cycle one out, and pop the other two in the charger, and you're always good to go.

Alternately, I also own a Motorola battery pack. You plug a usb from the wall into the battery pack to charge, and then once charged, you can plug a USB from the Motorola into your phone or what have you. It discharges VERY fast, and I find that it will recharge my INH05 in less than an hour.

The Professor,
What batteries should I get? Can't I just go to batteries plus and buy them so I don't have to wait for the shipping?

VapeNStone,
I bought my MFLB upgrade batteries from batteries plus? And no one has still answered me on which batteries and charger I would even need to get.

Oh and it's going on 18 hours and the light is still on. I shouldn't have to even buy these batteries and charger. They should be included in the vape for the price we paid. Or is @Inhalater really considering this ok? 20 hours to charge, plugged into the wall?

Edit: okay false alarm I believe that my light is not going out it just dims and then starts to flicker. Because just now I decided to just go ahead and use it so I could try it and then the moment I plugged it back onto the charger after I was done the light was solid again and a lot brighter@Inhalater is this a new thing?

Also I tried to put in the hygienic tips and they are way too tight. I can barely get them on without almost breaking the capsule?

This is as far as I could get it on and that was quite the task

You need to get specialized batteries: the 18650's - I think they were originally designed for high power flashlights. The one that comes with your INH05 is a 3000mAh. I had some on hand for an e-cig mod that I used to use. They come in various mAh, and I don't know what happens if you don't use a 3000mAh, say, instead you sub in a 2600mAh. I suspect it just takes longer to heat up, but to be sure, I would buy 3000mAh batteries. The charger costs about $15.

Too funny that is exactly what my GF's looks like as well....on the plus side it really stays on there...

About the USB charger....it is likely not a false alarm....if you look back a few pages you will find were someone cut up their USB cable to get an accurate current reading....and some if not all of these newer 05's are barely drawing 150ma...so it is a trickle charge scenario for sure....and I agree this should not translate into a consumer's problem.....!

I feel as though the 2800mah's are the best match for our current charger IC's... I've had an XP come with a 2600mah.....it had issues charging then my 05 came with an 3000ham and it has shown signs of issues and I've also tried it in my XP's....so I feel the better match up currently is with the 2800mah's.....

Greg has informed me that he is looking to replace the charger IC's for the next release....:peace:

I looked everywhere and no one has any around here so I'm just going to order some. Does the voltage matter? They all seem to be 3.7v so I think that's right but I just want to make sure.

VapeNStone,
Too late to edit but I wanted to chime in and say that the light doesn't go out it just dims and has a weird really fast flash.

The INH05 uses 18650 batteries. I've never seen one so I don't know which battery it uses, but there are basically two voltages: 3.2V and 3.7V. The 3.2V batteries are LiFEPo4 and are less common. I think (but don't know) that it uses the more common 3.7V batteries. The difference is important, because using the wrong charger can be dangerous. Also, 18650 batteries come with and without protection circuits, and with and without flat tops. All of these things can make a difference. Finally, 18650 batteries are not common enough yet to be found in most battery stores. Unless you live near an e-cig vendor or a specialty flashlight store, you are unlikely to find them anywhere but online.

Any 05 users care to share a video or more pics of your inhalaters? Or should we just refer to xp vids? Would love too a review of this thing in action! Thanks guys!

Ok so 3.7 then? Can anyone confirm that? I can get like 4 of them with a charger for $15 off amazon

i will check the cell that came in my 05 when i get home. im pretty sure they are 3.7v.

also what brand are the cells on amazon? that seems awfully cheap. you dont want cheap cells. buy the good stuff. at the least get Efest 18650s... the purple ones. sony and panasonic (comes w/ the 05) are the top choices, but are about $12-15 a peice. dont skimp on the cells. otherwise you will be throwing them away and buying the better shit later. might as well get them to start with.

lighthound has the best lrices on cells i can find, but if you keep an eye on vaporjoes.com you will catch crazy deals on everything ecig. including cells.

The mAh value determines total runtime - larger is more time ... different heat up time could be due to current limited (protected) cells.

Perhaps differing internal resistance as well? I know that that was the big factor to look for in batteries for the Cera, but I'm not sure how the presence of circuitry affects things here (Cera being purely mechanical).

Solod out.
I believe the stock batteries are Panasonic NCR18650B 3.7V 3400mAh Rechargeable Li-ion Batteries. Two for 20$ on amazon.
