Alfa Vaporizer by goboof

yes right, got a mail from Goboof yesterday, too! They've told me sample units will be send shortly :) I'm really looking forward to the alfa. Personally, I think it's the most interesting unit this year, because of the small size, the prize and the fact that it's made in europe.
Also I think the artwork of the box is extremely cool.

Pffff 190°C for low temp, bummer, that completely sucks... it's chosen more or less the same way as the FlowerMate 5S and it's in practice not a good choice because the mid level is basically useless (once you deplete the 'low' level, there's very little left on 'mid' and you have to go to 'high' directly)

Low temp for me is like 170°C and I read many like it down to around 160°C over here.

Also 230°C is way too close to combustion treshold for me, very little safety margin. Seeing we don't have access to concentrates in Europe and there's no way I'll put laced marocco hash in a vape... well, I'm a bit disappointed. And at 230°C ewww, herb has such a gross ABV taste in no time it's disgusting.

I'm agree an added lower setting might be nice for low temp addicts but for me this settings are nice for a quick medicating session!
My Imag plus get the same t° settings and it is amazing but I'm agree the higher setting is on the edge of combustion!

And about concentrates it's not really difficult to make your own and there is some very powerfull and tasty moroccan hash!

why? for me a setting below 180°C is absolutely useless?!
190°C is good for low temp users and 210°C is fine for high temp users.
I would prefer a further setting around 200°C too, though
230°C is for oil and wax, I guess.

also you should not forget, that the flowermate is 130€ in european shops, so I'd rather pay 10€ more and have a unit, that was build here in europe. The quality of the chinese vaporizers still worries me a bit.

I agree with the doc. This sounds very interesting and I like the temps. Chinese stuff is still hit and miss for the moment and none of the Chinese manufacturers are part of 420 culture or lifestyle and that is reflected in their products imo.

@mrweed and @Mr. Gweilo 420 : hey what's wrong with you guys?! Re-read my post, I mentionned the FlowerMate 5S only for the similar temp settings and never said one should get a chinese vape instead of this one!

I have the 5S and use it alot, and from experience, with all the strains I used, when you deplete the first level fully (195°C) there's almost nothing left at the next level (205°C) which is too close. It's a matter of fact and it's the same with my Ascent, most compounds are below 200°C. I can start at 170°C, get a very long session, then go to 180°C, and there will be plenty, then go to 190°C and again plenty, but afterwards there's very little left at 200°C and I have to go to 215°C++ to squeeze the last bits out.

If I start directly at 195°C on the Ascent it's the same as doing many levels, there is very little at 205°C afterwards. Just look at the various terpenes and cannabinoids boiling points: yes there are many listed above 200°C but if you check the relative percentages you will see that they represent next to nothing on your average weed (ex: THCV might be present but it's most of the time inferior to 1% etc)

And I wholeheartedly disagree that below 180°C is useless, and I think many FCers think the same. Maybe we don't have access to the same material, but 175°C is just the most delicious temperature out there, it's flavor heaven, I wouldn't want to miss that really! There's even one of the forum mods who swears by 160-165°C, but for me it's often too wispy to be enjoyable.

no harm ment, I was just wondering that someone wants a temp setting below the 180°C, since I don't think that THC would vaporizer below that temperature, at all. So I rather think a temp setting between 190°C and 210°C would have been nice.
you know you can have the temperature below 180°C with every vaporizer, just use it before the lowest temperature setting has been reached. since it won't be very effective, I don't see the need for such a preset, though and I always wondered why the chinese offer such a setting.

Yeah me too mate and to be honest .... Im a stoner and sometimes miss things :D This week I have been combining G13 flowers with homemade OG Kush shatter through my Enano. I think not long after writing my post I could not remember the password to my email. Seriously lol. Its all good bro :D:leaf:

should mention Im the kind of vaper that never uses a Solo below 7. You are right though, many on FC like lower temps. too.

Just got an email from goboof stating they're taking preorders right now, and all preorders get free shipping. The email states that the units will be shipped on October 13th. I think the price is $200

Just received an email from Goboof...

id like to know if you can swap batteries...?

looks cool. ill keep an eye on this.

Battery is not user-replaceable. A battery replacement program will be offered in the future, although the details have yet to be worked out.

The Alfa vaporizer will be offered with a 2 year warranty.

Free shipping will be offered until the New Year.

Review units have been released...online reviews should appear soon.

I'm interested in knowing how the vapor path is isolated from the electronics, given the location of the charging port.

Indeed, it should be on the other side! But apparently for some manufacturers, having air intake flowing through the jack or USB port is not a problem...

For this one we are only speculating though. Who takes the plunge?

One other thing I've noticed that has me concerned is the appearance of the metallic oven. Goboof's website shows a stainless steal color, while the image on GotVape shows a copper'ish color (I'm am not sure if the two units depicted are using the same material).

Edit...I just found a usage video...not the most informative, but it at least gives us an idea of the Alfa's performance.

mine is here :) first impression: "fuck... this thing is small..." definitely the smallest of it's kind so far!
also the herb chamber is very small. I'd say it takes 0,1g max!
more details tomorrow, when I've tested it.
Hurry hurry hurry! ;)

Mine is here too, first impressions are really positive, as small as a Pax with a different shape, stealth addicts would love it!
For me the bowl is perfect size, I already made 2 sessions with it, taste is pretty decent, clouds are here, everything seems nice but I haven't got enough time now I'll post more later cause I have a lot of trim to do!
