Positive post thread

There is so much negativity in the world and I find that it seems to get the most attention for some sad reason. It sucks to have to constantly be bombarded with negativity so I have decided to make this thread. This is a thread for positivity.

I would like all of the members here on FC to come and make positive post about whatever they like. The only rule is that there is positively no negativity.

Please tell us positive stories, or a friendly joke, or link articles to positive news stories, or post pictures of awesome things, or rant and rave about the things you love, from the small and simple to the biggest things that could effect the entire world.

Positivity for everyone!!!

Ok now that we got some people posting I would like to share a positive story from my day today.

I work at a sort of concessions stand on a university campus and when I was getting off work today I looked outside and saw kind of a fucked up thing. The building in which I work is currently under construction and there is scaffolding and fences up all around. This poor blind girl was outside trying to find her way down the path but kept running into the fencing and shit. She had her stick and was trying very hard to find her way around to no avail. For some fucked up reason people kept walking around and past her like they were blind to what was going on. I went outside and asked her if I could help. I offered her my hand but apparently blind people rather take you by the elbow. She asked me to help her get to a building that we were only about 200 feet from but would have been next to an impossible task if you could not see. I gladly lead her to the building and once there let her go on her way. It was such a little and simple thing to do and made me feel so good inside.

Take a minute or two out of your day to help someone and it will make both your days better

90 year old lesbians get married

90-year-old lesbian couple marries after 72 years of relationshipImagine the stories they must have after 72 years together. A gay couple has tied the knot after 72 years of relationship and said "it is never too late for people to write new chapters in their lives", according to a report in the Quad City Times. Vivian Boyack, 91, and Alice 'Nonie' Dubes, 90, exchanged their vows at the First Christian Church in Davenport. "This is a celebration of something that should have happened a very long time ago," the officiating reverend told them.

Why did these two precious souls have to wait an entire life to marry? What's wrong with the world?

Makes me glad I live in a place where this is no longer an issue. My sister married two of her gay friends a couple weekends ago and I know Boulder as well as many other counties have been issuing same-sex marriage certificates for a while now regardless of what the government says. Good for them.

excellent thread @blankrider ! There is never enough positive energy to combat all the negativity in this world! so every little bit counts!

on a positive note I just finished another painting without messing it up first!

woo hoo!

I used to help the elderly lady who would come to the pizza joint get in and out cause she was in a motorized wheelchair.

one time a dude flat let the door close right in front of her. I felt the need to apologize for that turd! so rude.

she was a very nice lady who just had nothing to do she fed the squirrels. id give her the old pizza for them and a fresh one for her.

at employee discount! fuck the man!

one love!

The courage that it takes for someone who is blind (especially for those that were once sighted), to go out and navigate in public just astounds me.

How's this for a feel good vid:

It is Friday which means that at the end of the day any left over salads and hotdogs get thrown out where I work. I fucking hate wasting food. Since I am manager I try to minimize waste by only ordering what I think will sell and not over preparing food.

Some days for the last 15 minutes I will do 2 for 1 on things to hook people up and minimize waste. I even sometimes hand out left over sandwiches and salads as I take out the trash. I know what it is like to be a poor hungry college student.

Lucky today I only had to throw out 2 sandwiches and one salad. I brought home a few salad and sandwich for me over the weekend and I shared the rest with my bunnies.

They are Flemish giants. Feeling really positive about minimizing waste and hooking people up

Sorry mods for the double post but it has been more than 6 hours.

Come on guys! I want to hear from you! Let's get positive in here!

I would like to share this super cute picture I took yesterday. This is my pitbull, his name is Bruce and he is almost 10 years old. I have had him since he was a puppy. He is extremely friendly and loves people and also little furry animals. He has never hurt anyone ever and is a great example of what a wonderful breed this is when not in the care of assholes. Oh yeah he also loves babies and children. As you can see he is also very well trained. He is staying with amazing control as my male breeder rat Ryu poses for this picture

@FlyingLow that puppy looks like a Snuggles. Super positive of you to love her throughout her potty training. It is extremely rare that my dog goes to the bathroom inside but when he does he hides like a big baby and cowers when I tap him on the nose and say bad boy. I try never to punish him too harsh.

Today he got out of the house after a squirrel and I got my shoes on to chase him. When I called for him he actually came back to me and I didn't have to chase him. I petted him so good and told him that he was a good boy.

Positive reinforcement for good behavior works so much better for training and makes you feel good too. Spanking a dog doesn't feel good for you or the dog. And what animal wants to come to the person who beats it.

Yay for positive reinforcement!

Thanks @grokit. The humor sounded much better in my head than I think transferred over to my post. :p

Really loved the post on the two ladies. Who is society to decide love, family and companionship? Love is love. Period. Can't wait until this kind of discrimination is a history lesson. :peace:

WOW just fixed my E-Bike. About a month and a half ago my e-bike stopped working. At first I thought something was wrong with the battery and controller. The battery would not balance after charging and throttle was not getting any juice from the controller. As it turns out the BMS Battery Management System had came slightly unplugged. Still showing some power but not enough to power the bike or balance the battery. Ever since I started this hobby back in Jan it's been the trail of tears one thing
after another. I think it's over. Getting ready for a 45 mile ride today.

Good luck on your ride @FrogBoy138 and congratulations on figuring out what the problem was. It is always very satisfying fixing something yourself instead of having to shell out hundreds of dollars

This has been the perfect weekend. Beautiful fall weather... perfect temps..... the leaves are starting to turn....

I've spent it making edibles and another batch of my pain salve. I give this all away to people in pain and need. I'm lucky in that I get free trim from my caregiver to make all of this (for returned product) and it feels so good to be able to help people without charging for it. Giving is the true gift.

RECYCLE AND REUSE PROGRAMS & PARTNERSHIPS
Each year, Bike Works collects over 4000 bicycles that we refurbish or recycle. These bikes donated to Bike Works are used in our programs and returned to the community.

We harvest parts from the unusable bikes and responsibly recycle the remaining bicycles, or upcycle them through partnerships with businesses like Alchemy Goods and donations to artists. Overall, we divert an estimated 120,000 lbs. of bikes and bike parts from landfills.

Bike Works partners with CleanScapes – a company that provides socially responsible streetscape management, waste reduction, recycling and collection services. You can drop off any bicycles you’d like to donate to Bike Works at the South, Shoreline, andBow Lake Recycling and Disposal Stations ( a.k.a Transfer Stations) as well as the Issaquah CleanScapes Store. These bicycles are brought to Bike Works by CleanScapes and will be used in our programs. More information on this partnership can be found here.

Our cat, Rabbit, has had an ongoing urinary tract infection the past couple weeks. Had to take her to the Vet 2 times in a week just to get 2 shots of Convenia and one shot of Pen G. Last week (Saturday) was the first Convenia shot, and it didn't seem to help, so back to the Vet this past Saturday. One more Convenia shot and an extra dose of Pen G.

We think it's finally working because she hasn't pee'd on our bed or bed pillows again. She did that twice! One time right in front of me while I was reading in bed, and once we weren't in the room. I used the black light to find it.

Poor baby! We just want her to get better, and we think she finally is! :)

@Enchantre do you use Nature's Miracle?

I have, yes... I'm not sure you'll find a better one, but it's not really miraculous. Give it plenty of time to soak in.

I hope your bunny feels better soon!

I have been trying to watch TV all evening and not really enjoying it no matter how much I medicate. I decided to go outside and make a fire in this fire pit I got at a garage sale. I am just sitting here with my dog listening to thrash metal on my phone fucking loving it. Feeling super positive right now.
