@CarolKing you forgot to mention the most important thing. BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!

@Stu, the lid is very easy to remove without damaging the unit, and you are able to put it back on.
I was working on this a while ago. Here are some old pics. The lid comes off, goes back on like normal, and has magnets to stick it to the bottom of the unit if you take the lid off.
PM me if you want to know a quick easy way!

@pakalolo these tips were designed as hygienic tips for people trying out the Indica at shows.

You're right @Vape Dr. That can be the most important thing. Especially if you have experienced any problems. You need a company that will answer your emails and communicate with the you. Also, will listen to customer imput. A company that will stand behind its product and materials.

It looks like Indica has been there for it's customer in good times and some not so good times. The company can only grow from here. Bravo Indica for making a winner. Thank you for being there for your customers.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that @GoGlass was referring to the swinging lid and not the silicone mouthpiece when he refers to the "top cap".

:peace:

@Stu , you're right, my english is bad, i was effectively reffering to "the swinging lid" !

Am i the one who thinks that vaping without this lid will be more cool and less strange ?

@CarolKing and @pakalolo thanks for your replies !

@Vape Dr. thanks for the pics, that's all i want to know !!!! Great !!!!

Hey guys, thanks for all the info on these beta units and also to Mike for the always informative updates. Because of you guys my wallet is itching in my pocket and I believe once the final black indica will be available in UK I'll be owning one, I got one question though I haven't seen addressed here (as far as my memory serves me) what about the draw speed? Do you have to inhale slowly like with the ascent for instance?

The silicone mouthpiece does nothing to detract from discreetness, whereas the lid might.

If my assumption is correct, no, there is no easy way to temporarily remove the lid. I wouldn't want to permanently remove it for aesthetic reasons, but I suppose there could be a permanent solution for those so inclined.

:peace:

 My mistake, I didn't think it through. Your explanation makes more sense.

The draw is somewhat restricted. I don't find it limiting, on the other hand, I naturally adjust my draw to every device and don't try to force it. @Vape Dr. drills out the mouthpiece to make it more free-flowing but I haven't tried this so I can't say how much it opens up. You certainly don't need to modify it to get the clouds that I showed in my video. Why anyone needs less restriction puzzles me, frankly.

I agree. IMO you shouldn't expect a fast hard draw from a small portable. Making a wide diameter mouthpiece/vapor path on a stealthy portable really isn't practical. It would play havoc with the vaping temps if nothing else, enabling a large volume of air to be drawn quickly. You should view a pocket portable as a vapor sipper. Lung busting hits from a pocket vape just aren't practical. As for making the mouthpiece hole a little larger, I've done that, although I didn't go as far as drilling, just routing out the hole a bit with a dental pick. I think it's a good option if the factory opening is just too small for you, but I woudn't jump on doing that right away, since once done, you can't go back. I'd try a slow easy draw first. The plus to a narrow vapor path is higher vapor density.

@max, drilling the mouth piece out makes a huge difference with no draw backs.

The V2 has a larger air path and mouth piece hole than the V1 and it works much better.
The next version will hopefully have a slightly larger air path and MP hole.

Increasing the mouth piece hole size has no impact on the temperature of the oven.
Having the larger air path and MP simply allows you to hit it easier.
The smaller the hole, the longer and harder you have take a draw.
The larger the MP hole diameter and tube, the shorter and easier the draw.

Please my friends do not just assume this mod will not work, It is tried and true. I would not have posted it if it did not make a huge difference.

I understand your reluctance because this is a portable vape, but it is a very powerful portable and is still being fine tuned for maximum efficiency.

It helps very much without harming the unit or playing havoc with keeping the oven temps stable.

It is also tough to judge the difference if you have not done this mod.

To me the most efficient vaporizer IS the most practical!!!:)

@pakalolo, I understand and appreciate your skepticism.
Would you like me to send you a moded MP to try out?
This way you could be the judge for yourself without sacrificing your own MP with trying a mod that you are unsure of.
I have an extra one and that would not be a problem!:)

Maybe this is why i hate the PNP vapor density.

I dunno, just because you can get more air flowing through doesn't necessarily mean you're going to be doing that. I can get very thick vapor using my Solo with a turbo stem and a coarse screen, comparable to using a regular 4-hole stem. The only difference is in how I draw from it, I have to draw a little slower with the turbo stem because it's easier to draw too hard and start to overpower the heater. I really like it though, since there's less restriction I don't have to draw as hard. Lung-busting hits from a pocket portable vaporizer are achievable. They're not going to be nearly as "good" compared to a dedicated desktop setup but they're capable and with the benefit of being portable. I can get the same thick draw with my Solo sitting here at my desk with a bubbler or on the beach using it dry. I agree that temperatures may fluctuate easier if you're unaccustomed to the change in restriction but at least in my case I was able to adapt to it rather quickly and can control the fluctuation. From the videos I've seen the Indica is also capable of giving thick vapor at high temperatures as well.

@Vape Dr. has quite a few thoughts and designs for in line as well as accessories related to water tools and bubblers, A new age vaporization Lenardo D. if you asked me.

Once the V2 is officially on the market, I'll be open to dialogue as we look to develop both integrated and proprietary options in this category.
Good to hear you're going to have some adapters going. I think it would be easy, perhaps just make one of the mouthpiece covers that extends out into a male 14/18mm joint?

Some folks like a tighter draw while others like an easier draw. I think whatever works for you is the right way. Personal preference is what it's all about. I haven't felt a need to modify the draw. I'm used to the tighter draw of the Solo.

 My Indica v2 beta is finally out for delivery!

Thankfully the wife is working this afternoon so I can sneak home for a quick peek (and to toss on the charger) before going back to work.

I haven't seen many people comment on a proper burn-in procedure, so here's what I'm thinking of doing:

1) Unbox and bask in the Indica's magnificent glory, examining every nook and cranny like any self-respecting gadget geek would
2) Immediately do one max burn-off on red for full 10 minute cycle. (I prefer to never immediately charge a partially charged battery, I like to drain 10-20% of the remaining battery life before I do the initial long charge)
3) Quick ISO clean with some q-tips (I have long scientific wooden cotton swabs for the vapor path)

4) Toss on charger for 4-5 hours

5) Another 10 minute cycle at red, and Iso wash for good measure

6) Test the flavor of the vape without anything loaded.

Regarding the optimal packing, it sounds like the general rule of thumb is to loosely load the oven to the top, and then pack down by installing 1 spacer. (No screen is preferred, coarser bits near the vapor path to filter fine particles)

Thanks for the offer but I have 5 mouthpieces from beta test units available to me should I want to try your mod. ;)

I might get around to trying it, but to be honest I am not a fan of thick cloudy vapour so it's likely that I might not.

I've been periodically checking the tracking # on my replacement vape, and... it's been in Jamaica, NY for FOREVER!!

...............Okay, it's only been a little over a full day. Heh. But it does seem like forever, considering how antsy I am to vape for the first time in a while. :goon:

I don't think you're supposed to turn it on until it is fully charged, I remember reading that about lion batteries. Charge it up and then do your burn off. If everything smells and tastes neutral, your good to go pretty much. I don't iso unless I have to, like with the Chinese vapes. My original indica in april was pure right out of the box.

It looks like my new ones have just arrived as well though! Ill finish charging them right after work and inspect (pressed for time though) Hopefully I'll have my favorite portable back for good! My tracking still said arrived at NY btw, even though it was on its way to me this morning

Heads up for all awaiting. We had factory charged to a little over 80% and supposedly run a 10 minute burn off on each. The Indica's LED will turn off when fully charged, so use this as the indication of capacity.

Regarding the burnoff, there is no harm done in an additional 10 min burnoff. Clearly, any factory and production based remanence needs to be eradicated before enjoying your herb.

As For the ISO, you guys are the experts, I'll watch and learn. Thanks and we all look forward to seeing all your comments and thoughts.

Cleaning my Indica.

For me, I use 91% ISO.

I start with a bristled pipe cleaner in a twist motion down the air path to the oven, and a Q-tip to clean the oven.
I always clean my Indica after a session when its warm but cooling down.

Cleaning the Indica takes me all of 10 seconds if I'm slacking!:)

Do you have a INDICA?

I like the size!
When your 4 hours unable to medicate?

Like I said the size is awesome!
