@virtualpurple -- that was pretty cruel putting those sammich pics up there without warning. Now I'm hangry!

Haha, ah crap. I need to organize my folders a little better, that should have been with my food folder.

For the record it was a mighty decent sandwich. I was trying to replicate the bread that I get when I'm in Vietnam. Can't get the bread how it ought to but I luckily know enough to still put out something respectable.

it looked good to me, buddy!

All this talk about cleaning screens got me to iso my whole bowl and screens. I forgot about the wand-hash that builds up above the top screen...yummy! I'm gonna hit that tonight with my nice, clean Herbie!

Help with water piece for Herbie please.
I'm looking for a hydro tube (if that's the proper name) for Herbie.
Something like madcap posted but way smaller with minimal diffusion.
I have a nice small bubbler but these direct water tubes interest me.

Do the cheap Chinese vendors have a nice knock-off or anything you'd
recommend ?
Thanks for any help/suggestions

I have been testing 3/8 in inner diameter tubing @macbill linked a few pages back vs stock whip with no mouthpiece using a dedicated bowl for each whip.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000FOWGGW/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Each whip has pros and cons. In the end it comes to user preference. Really come to appreciate the bowl coupler and whip storage after using the aftermarket whip. I feel like the stock whip gives a higher pressure hit, and the vapor gets deeper into the lungs. I can really feel the difference in the two whips on the exhale. It seems like the Herbalizer team did take whip diameter into consideration when designing Herbie.

I had one bowl wrapped in a plastic bag and stored in a Pelican case. It seems the smell of the foam has possibly off gassed absorbed into the KoolGrips or bowl. There was a smell a taste associated with the case. Any suggestions on removing the foam odor from the case/foam?

Good to know Been Vapin, I've only used the stock whip so I have nothing to compare it to. I know some others on this thread like the greater diameter tubing like the SSV tubing. Some say it provides better airflow and thicker vapor production IDK. All I know is I like the stock tubing just fine. With the stock tubing I get monster hits and huge clouds especially hovering in the 425F + zone. That's why I never felt the need to try any other tubing.

Are you getting these great big hits with or without the fan?

Also folks, can't edit my post with the links, so I'm going to try and post the images here. Sorry they're on the small side, that's as big as imageshack will allow me without paying them some cashola.

Fuck me this chemdawg tastes indescribably delicious. If that didn't make sense blame it on the Herbie :ko:
Was away for the weekend so the solo was the only vaporizer I had. As much as I love solo-ing? It wasn't the same. Herbalizer has raised the standard for vapor and from where I'm vaping the bar is looking pretty high :D

Has Herbalizer gone out of business/is going out of business???
Just went to their site to order some accessories and says they are selling herbalizer.com, and there is no store to order from??
Very concerning for a product that I just dropped so much $$ on!!

Both! But with the fan it's just a quicker hit. A 20 second draw w/o fan = A 10 second draw with fan assist. Either way huge clouds with Herbie !!

You know, it's funny...without the fan assist my clouds just seem nowhere near as big as what I've experienced with my 3 portable vapes. I know it's capable due to user accounts and YouTube demos but I just am not getting it like I'd expect.

What temp setting are you using?

Tried a whole nug in the Herbie this morning. The thing I can think to say to describe the taste/experience would be a quote from @ataxian .......

Have you tried starting at 430 or above? I think you'll get more visible vapor that way. Did the videos you watched state what temp they were at?

That is a very good point, I don't think they had. Although I know I get bigger clouds on my ascent on 375 than on the herbalizer on 375. No idea why.

I never had tried starting so high. I was afraid I wouldn't benefit somehow and release all the varying terpenes or whatever if I started off too high. I may have to try it.

Although I know I get bigger clouds on my ascent on 375 than on the herbalizer on 375. No idea why.

Because they are different devices. 375 is simply a reference point and it is relative only to the device that is measuring it. Furthermore, the vapour flow characteristics of the two devices are sufficiently different that even if both were achieving identical temperatures, the Herbalizer has a significantly higher ratio of air to vapour so the cloud density would not be as thick. This point tends to get overlooked by those who think that they absolutely must have thick vapour. The quantity of vapour in the stream is the same.

I know when I start out at 360 or so and work my way up the clouds are never huge. I do however get properly medicated. I am somewhat of a lightweight. When I go straight to 410 and above the vapor is more significant. Plus, it's fun to play around and see what you get out of various temps. Enjoy! :science:

I start at 430 or 445 depending on the strain, but usually I just want to get the bowl done with and get on with my day. :)

If I want to take a bit more time I'll start at about 375 and increase by 15 degree increments.

Because they are different devices. 375 is simply a reference point and it is relative only to the device that is measuring it.

Paka -- Now you know I've measured both of these devices, and when they say 375°F, they both mean it. Both are really true to the temp when the bowl is ready. (IIRC it was measured within a few degrees.)

*NOW* what happens DURNING draw however... The Ascent's battery and portability(small size) deny it the ability to heat room temp air as rapidly as one draws. This is why it is suggested to let it recover between draws. The curve plummets on draw and recovers back to set temp. The Herbie on the other hand, is designed to keep the temp precise on point. When I put it on load, the curve is essentially flat.

But the rest of your points are right on mark. Vapor and air mix between the two are quite different (Herbie seems to like a very loosely half-filled bowl, and the Ascent likes a denser pack.). And good point trying to debunk the thickness myth.

That is something that never even crossed my mind. Thank you for setting me straight...I never had considered things like the air to vapor ratio.
