Discontinued Indica Vaporizer

I also heard from Mike this morning. He gave me the tracking number for my replacement that is on its way! I can't say how happy I am to be vaping again soon. While the replacement probably took longer than I would have liked, I have had no complaints about Indica throughout the entire process. Mike has been phenomenal at replying to any questions via pm quickly and thoroughly and, as a consumer, I felt like I was kept in the loop the whole time (which in my experience is extremely rare).

Update: Got a message from Mike. Was informed that the Indica is on the way, and is due to arrive at the end of this week or early the next. :)

I'll let you know when it comes, and also give my impressions of the updated device.

I should be getting my black indica by the end of the week as well hopefully. Ill give a full review and comparison with the old model as best I can!
For those of you that will have access to both old and new units soon, I think you will find a marked improvement in heat up times among other things.

Here were the results of my initial comparison of the two units vis á vis heat up times:

I've got two new v2 stainless steel Indicas on their way to me now as well. I actually preferred the sleek silver to the matte black of my beta, so nice for me to be able to have the new improvements in the smooth body if my original pride and joy.

Yes it has been quite a while since I've had the pleasure of a fully functional Indica, but it will be well worth the wait! I don't even mind the time, bc Mike took everything to heart and worked hard to ensure there are no more issues with quality control, and that each Indica will perform at the same high standard of the original production run I was privileged to be a part of. The way things sound, they're actually setting that standard even higher now...

My wife gave me an Indica....have no idea where she bought it, but it came new and I loved it...early model...have several vaporizers and this became my go to for outdoors. Then it stopped heating even though the lights continued to function.

One call to Boulder and they said they would replace it later this week!! Fantastic service even though they could not find the purchase in their records, which I find very impressive on their part. Such quick response as well... This is a great product and a great company stands behind it.

Thanks! I will try this cause at sales i believe i've been reading was something wrong in that Mail .

Having just finished reading this thread front to back, yes there was an issue several months ago which the sales@ email address was not going to Mike and his service team. But that issue has been resolved, you should have no problem contacting them any way you desire (he's also on this site quite a bit, I'm sure a PM on here will also work).

(PS - V2 beta incoming, I'll be sure to give a full writeup of my opinions including a head-to-head review against the Davinci Ascent!)

Looking forward to going out for a 'walk' to 'stretch my legs' during work next week

I spent a good part of yesterday testing out this beauty:

aBrihLx.jpg

I recorded the whole session. I'm not comfortable releasing most of the video, but there is one part of the testing I edited for publication because I think it will interest those of you who like your vapour thick. It's a comparison of the vapour produced at the top temperature of both the Indica V2 and the Solo (~210°C/410°F). I say in the video that they might be about equal, but let's see what you think.

I bet that just means they're waiting until the new v2 production units are released. If you're willing to wait, I'm sure you'll be happy with the new version

Aww, sorry to have contributed to your grief. :(

If it's any consolation, I think @Ratchett is right, so you will be getting a better vapourizer. My testing included comparisons with the V1 stainless steel Indica, and while that is a solid device, the V2 is noticeably better.

Paka, thank you for that comparison. There are others in the forum about to receive early production product for testing before the October 16th release. I look forward to all involved sharing input before we launch into high volume production.

Last week I PMed tracking numbers to these awaiting members of the forum. I had expected arrivals this afternoon and only found out this evening that the factory shifted shipping companies after assigning the UPS numbers. Long story short, these long awaited Indicas are now in transit through another carrier EMS. I have been informed they will now supposedly arrive this Wednesday.

I wish I had known this before tonight so that we all could have planned otherwise. I will PM each of you who are anticipating, the new tracking #s later this weekend.

As for the UK product, there has been a slight delay in shipping from our factory. The UK product should be completely reworked and very similar to the V2 that is being tested next week and in Paka'a hands, Only it still is in it's Stainless Steel shell.

One thing that I have learned is if you want quality from China, you have to be patient. It makes you age but in the long run, with thorough design, checks and QC Management, products beyond standard par can be produced.

The V2 Indica will be well worth the wait. With quick charge up time, excellent vapor flavor, ease of use and a long lasting battery.

A unit that can be quite stealth when you need it to o be. Just close the lid and put away in a pocket or bag. It's very small but big enough to pack a large load if that's what you want. A unit that is built with quality that you can feel with every use. If you are a clicker of the lid like I am, it will hold up under the abuse of the owner (I will try to control my impulses).

The vapor flavor I would compare to the Ascent by Davinci. The spacers are a feature that you don't see in any of the vaporizers that I know of. Let me know if I am mistaken? Many of you are more aware of whats new out in the marketplace. It delivers medication when needed when away from a plugin.

If you are looking for a portable this unit is well worth looking at. A vape that can get the job done in a stylish way.

What I have observed just by reading through the thread is this company offers wonderful customer service. Seeing the excellent comments from customers makes me feel secure if I wanted to buy this vaporizer.

Lol, I would have PM'd you sooner about the tracking, but didn't want to be a pest since I figured you are busy.

Probably better it doesn't arrive before Wednesday - the boss is back in town and I can't take my mid-day walk around the park near my office! Luckily he's flying back to his Texas home on Thursday and I'll have plenty of opportunities to test the Indica

Really anxious to see the Indica IRL. I was always a fan of the spacers included in the box since my Ascent still doesn't have any true spacer options aside from glass flowers which are a PITA to load.

From reading this thread, it looks like there was some QC issues, and I give Indica a lot of credit for the countless beta units they send out for testing. As a developer, I can appreciate not using paying customers to "beta" test early production units. Just think of how many headaches could have been avoided if someone had put the Ascent through it's paces before it was released.

Question - where is the cold air intake?? There was mention long ago about an air leak around the USB port, but I believe that has been fixed already.... I think someone mentioned the oven door?

Indica mouthpiece mod

Hello FC
As you all probably know, I am a HUGE believer of drilling out the mouth piece on the Indica. It is the first thing I do to the Indica when I get it.

Although the hole in the beta Indicas are larger and do make a huge improvement, I like to match the MP hole with the ID of the air tube.

I have PMd many people to see if they have tried this mod. Surprisingly few have. I don't know if it's because they are afraid of ruining the mouthpiece, or if they are just plain happy with how wonderful the Indica works in its stock form.

I have had many Indicas and I have drilled out the mouthpiece on every one. IMO you get much less draw restriction, better taste, and better vapor.

I have tested the heat to temp to make sure that was not an issue and it was not.
When doing this mod, you also still retain the inner horn inside the mouthpiece that keeps herb from being sucked through into your mouth if you go screenless (I personally recommend NO SCREEN), but that's my opinion.

First I will show you how simple drilling the mouthpiece is to do.
Second I will show those of you with the black beta units how to enlarge the silicone tips hole.

This post is for instructional purposes only! Do so at your own risk. If you are concerned this may void your warranty, I'm pretty sure it won't because the MP is detachable and is not a permanent part of the unit, the unit itself would be the only thing to have the possibility of a malfunction. But if you are unsure if it will void your warranty PLEASE CHECK WITH MIKE AT INDICA FIRST!

I TAKE NO RESPONSABILITY FOR ANYONE DAMAGING THEIR MOUTHPIECE due to lack of skill, carelessness, or random mishaps.

What you will need:

Your Indica

A drill with a drill bit slightly larger than the stock MP hole, a 2/32nds, and a 3/32nds bit and your mouthpiece.

A good torch. any kind will do.

A larger diameter poker, or a coat hanger works too. just make sure to get the proper diameter.

Unfortunately I had already drilled the MP out before I decided to take pics, so I will use the MP tip as a size comparison as they are roughly the same.

Drilled out MP on left. Stock size on the right (the MP tip)

I suggest first taking the MP off, the drilling it out in slightly larger steps on a block of wood.
I also suggest wearing gloves and safety glasses as a precaution.
I did this by myself so I don't have the drilling process pics. I'm sure you know how to drill, here is the final result.

As you can see, drilling the MP out does not affect the horn on the inside of the MP.

Now for the silicone tip
To make it go from this size...

To this size

Heat up your poking device

Simply poke through the existing MP tips hole

So now your silicone tip should be about the size of your MP hole

Upside down pic with the silicone tip on showing the horn is fully functional

Final result

As you can see, you can enlarge the MP & the tip quite a bit allow less draw resistance, and the horn in the MP remains to keep your mouth free of debris!
This is a great mod if you choose to do it. I would say the draw restriction is 30% less at a guess, you will notice a huge difference for sure!
It definitely makes the Indica even more enjoyable!

I wasn't able to blow clouds like this on setting #2 prior to doin this mod

Sorry for such a long post my friends. I really do love this mod and wanted to show all of you how easy it really is, and if you have a beta unit, enlarging the tip definitely helps out a ton!

I also highly recommend soaking the silicone tip in coconut milk and you will not have any unpleasant taste.

Whether you choose to do this mod or not, the how to information is here for you now.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this long post my friends! If anyone has any questions, please do not hesitate to PM me!
:peace:
