I am having trouble cleaning my FM. The heating chamber and bottom screen are heavily stained. I have tried cue tips and alcohol and magic eraser. They both helped a little.

Anyone find a good way to clean the FM?

I will say that both of the flower mates - i have found to be very dependable right out of the box.
I use them for lavender and have never had an issues. lavender helps me relax with my severe health issues. The new version of the flower mate, does have three temp settings and the battery life is in my opinion quite amazing. I prefer the silicone over the glass. I drilled out the restrictive holes in the little metal piece that holds the mouth piece.
The flower mate is dependable out of the box. It works like i think is should . I don't think there is a "hold time" extra push of the button as in the first unit. This was refreshing... works as good as I expected and that made it ,that much better. It is worth a look in my opinion. Peace

Last week I received two units with the 3 temp settings and glass mouthpieces. My contact at SMISS even sent me spare glass mouthpieces because I slightly overpaid during transaction.

I have used it too much because I tend to avoid medicating during my work week. But both the blue and magenta settings are quite nice. The red setting, even with my F-bomb, still caused me to cough heavily, I did not give it the proper respect and it corrected me quickly!

Anyone familiar with a U.S. based company that sells replacement silicone mouthpieces? My girlfriends got chewed up by her puppy and I would like to purchase a few silicone mouthpieces to have handy. She prefers the glass, but I prefer to have spares.

I took the glass piece from my pinnacle pro and turned it upside down and inserted it into the unit. I used the o ring to seal it. Other than the screen now at the top, there was little restrict toon. Ow. It was every bit as good as the solo!!!

I love when the ABV comes out like a bullet case:bowdown:

Gone back to the tin as that cheapo case from china has dodgy hinges you get what you pay for or not as the case maybe. The tin was free

Drilled and enlarged one hole out of the mouthpiece unit's 5 hole plate as suggested and It really makes the unit sooooo much better. Consistent clouds...

Try it! Much better to an already great instrument!

I know these haven't been out that long but does anyone have an idea how long a charged but unused FMV will keep it's charge? They are lithium batteries so it should last at least a week or more but I'm curious if anyone yet knows...

cybrguy,
So has anyone had any success in using oils with the vapormax 5, just wondering as I wont have access to flowers for a while, only oil. Was wondering if the vapormax could get some use during this time.

I've read of people putting oils in a rolling paper or cotton with other vapes. It's worth a try

Reflexion,
So the conduction doesnt cause the cotton to burn? or offgas? Ive never used cotton in a vape before, just wondering if there is a reaction with either conduction or convection at the ~400 degrees the vapormax heats up to.

I use convection and temps above 500F with cotton. I prefer SS wool now. But cotton has a nostalgic taste and is easier and quicker and better to reclaim from.

I actually prefer glass frits, if anyone knows a maker, frit cylinders would be great.

Just make sure to use organic cotton with nothing added to it (no moisturizers etc) and you're fine. I soak my cottons in an alcohol/hash oil mix and let them saturate then wait for the alcohol to vaporize before I throw it into my Solo at max temperature and I don't get any combustion.

I got a defective unit from Massdrop. Does anyone know how to contact the manufacturer and if there is any kind of warranty.

I went straight to the Massdrop website about my missing mouthpiece. There is a contact link there and they got back to me the next day.

Hi all, I just purchased a 5s from ebay and the cutoff seems to be around 5 minutes, not 10. At least right out of the box. I'm recharging it now. Has anyone else experienced this?

I have been testing out the single temp, glass mouthpiece unit from Massdrop for a few weeks now and I have to say that for a portable vape at this price point, it is pretty awesome! I was looking for something that is simple to use, and easy to conceal and this piece will certainly do what I need!

One question though.. My glass mouth piece seems a bit loose. Meaning I can twist the glass inside the metal screw piece that goes into the unit. Is this normal? It seems to hit just fine, no air leaks that I can tell.

Anyone else experience anything similar to this?

Do you realize it comes out of the metal piece?mine pulls out when you twistd and pull with a bit of firmness. So it can be cleaned

Thanks I did wonder if it did. So far only unscrewed the very bottom where you can access the gauze/mesh/screen.

My ebay seller has some replacement glass mps in £7.99 so being tragic I ordered 1 to go along with my 2 spare silicone ones.

I have noticed the flap that covers the mouthpiece slot is loose a bit and can flap open raising the prospect of the mp falling onto the floor. Any one else noticed this?

I did not realize that. Makes sense though. I will take a look at it when I get home. Thanks!

I've had a few more weeks with my V5 and I'm growing even more fond of it. Just thought I'd make a couple of comments, in response to a few questions I've read.

With limited herb supplies, I usually run my (very) dry herb through a grinder, then put in a pinch or two until it's loosely filled to the edge of the ceramic chamber. I don't pack it at all. When I feel like it's getting weak during a session, I'll take off the mouthpiece briefly, close the top lid, shake it, and replace the mouthpiece. You can do this while the mouthpiece is in place (I typically tap the V5 on my knee), but it doesn't "toss" the herb as well, since it doesn't have as much space to move. This gives me perfectely browned ABV throughout.

The taste, particularly of the crappy low-quality herb available in the backwards state I live in, is still pretty terrible. To counter the nasty taste, and to increase clowdz, I drip 2 drops of my peppermint e-juice (very low nic) onto the dry herb in the chamber. Makes it taste great, and helps you "see" how much you really are vaping the herb. Don't know if this is something that others normally do, but it works for me.

Finally, I'm still trying to determine the exact size of the plug connector for the Vapormax charger, I'm measuring 3mm. It's a 9v 1000mA charger.. Something like this should work as a car charger:
